    I like the Elizabeth Ward organizers because they're a set of clear boxes that fit in a tray that has a locking lid. The boxes come on five sizes, and the lids can be pulled off completely for easy in and out.

    Great video! Thanks. My storage is similar. Same boxes. Same bookcase storage. Same issue with milky lids oof! I keep track of price and place bought with scotch tape on the inside of the compartment. I fold over the edge for easy removal. I haven't been good about recording item numbers, though, so great tip! I have a similar log sheet system. And I'm with you: I count the beads to price them. I even count the seed beads 😊 I find it REALLY relaxing to sort out a bead haul and price it all. It's like the left brain gets to play in the studio as well 🤓 Great book you designed!

    Oh! And I LOVE the notecard with the bead sizes. Doing that!! I was just trying to replace large amethyst gemmy beads and I could not get the size right to save my life. Doing this!

    The craziest thing! I, myself do this exact same way with storage. Even down to the little baggies inside and the black sharpie to mark which color beads are inside. I dont keep the tags tho. I recently bought a clear jewelry organizer with drawers that hav little sections divided within each drawer for my findings. I also found huge caddies for my medium and large pendants. Luv the idea of the index card. I gotta try thst. So smart! Thanx for additional ideas.

    Pz, I LUV LUV LUV yur jewelry supply book idea. I never keep track on paper. It's all in my head but at this present time I hav so many beads, chain/ links, findings, wire pendants, ..ect , that it is a guessing game now. This video really got me rethinking my pricing game. Thanx again.

    Thank you for sharing this video. I don't like the containers with removable dividers either for the same reason, but since that is what I already had, I took a hot glue gun and glued the dividers in place. That has helped in preventing small beads from going under the divider. I used Gorilla glue sticks to make sure they stay in place. Hope this tip helps others.

    Thanks for sharing this video. I'm happy to say that I use a very similar system including an old bookcase to hold my plastic divided bead boxes.
    Like yours, my bead boxes are sorted by color and my charm boxes are by themes e.g, celestial, nautical, fantasy, etc.
    I also have divided plastic boxes holding findings like bails, lobster clasps, ribbon clamps, jump rings, etc.
    And I use those nice photo boxes for various gauges & types of wires and odd strands of large beads, etc.
    So I’m on the same page as you!

      Best to start sorting them one way or another - either by size, or by color, or by material. Good luck!

    I do track all my beads and supplies, but I have an inventory and jewelry piece pricing system I bought years ago. Unfortunately, the lady that developed it retired a couple years ago, so it is no longer supported, but I still continue to use it. I sort by Gemstone type, then color within that if there are variations, Czech glass beads by color and some by shape, other Glass beads by color, Swarovski crystal by type (4mm bicones, 6mm bicones, etc.), other crystal by color, Freshwater pearls (by color), Glass pearls (by color) and so on. Do you buy cabochons? I wonder how you store those? In with the stone or pearls or whatever they are made of, or separately? I have several of those tool cabinets like your green one but mine are ugly grey, and use those for findings like crimp beads, wire guardians, head pins and eyepins, etc. by metal type. I just have Too Much so I'm using plastic shoeboxes on several different shelf units and all are labeled. Thanks for sharing how you do your storage! Last, I am also in Pennsylvania - the Southeastern corner. :)

    • @LauraBethLove
      @LauraBethLove  Год назад +1

      I do store my cabs separately - in bags by size and then all of those go in a big box - with special (re: expensive) cabs separated into individual bags and stored separately so they don't get misplaced. Love the photo storage boxes from craft stores, I have a shelf of those as well with one for chains, one for headpins and jump rings, etc!

      @@LauraBethLove Thank you for your prompt reply! I may switch from the plastic shoeboxes to the photo storage boxes. I think the shape will a) hold more and b) stack better. Thanks again!

    How do you remember the sizes?

    • @LauraBethLove
      @LauraBethLove  8 месяцев назад +1

      You can measure them with a ruler. Write it down from the packaging before you throw it away.
