Also dont be afraid to be quite firm when renting about the electricity bill. Its so easy for them to charge whatever rate so really do research and check your bill frequently otherwise it can be a huge bill up to 80% of the months rent so i made the mistake of paying double rent my first month. If you can refer other apartments electiricty costs.
Great video Sandi! as a culture and lifestyle channel... it's interesting to hear ESY talk about Myanmar's cost of living to those interested in making that move or are curious about it
Now this is a video that helps us farangs decide if they want to make a move to Myanmar (yangon in particular). Some people are saying Thailand is becoming to expensive so finding or having alternate places that are still cheap is good to know.
Very informative thanks and over 10 minutes. At 5:00 you were outside the former famous Yangon Hard Rock Cafe, which I remember fondly in Oct 2018. I weep.
thank You SANDI for the video !! It's very informative !! I will have to watch it several times. .. thank You, also JASMINE for your part of the video !!
Hi Silas, yeah prices have gone up - especially because of power outages. If you live in a condo and about 25% of your electricity comes from the local power generator the cost is much higher than if you are supplied through the general grid.
Yes this was what I was referring to. A good start to a different presentation. Keep it up and congradulations Sandi and ESY ... 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Yangoon seems like a nice place for middle income Americans to retire. My wife and I get nice social security payments each month from the government. It is hard to make ends meet at home but it seems we could easily live a rich lifestyle in Myanmar.
Not sure if you'd want to retire in a place that currently has a curfew in place. May want to wait until that situation Myanmar is dealing with subsides. But yes I agree it would be lovely to live in a place where what you pay in rent only in the west can pay for your whole living experience in a place like Yangon.
I love how technical this is. Thank you to sandi my gracious real estate agent. Impressed sandi is a corn flakes girl. Impeccable taste. 9:17 the money counter got me in my feelings frfr. I love the video. The variety you girls come up with is impressive.
Thanks so much for making this video- I have an interview for a job in Myanmar tomorrow and this answered so many questions that I have about everyday life.
If I opened the video, it's because I was astonished of seeing your girly side. Must say that you well made the summary of everything needed to spend the time there. A for Excellent....will comment to my friend to make work his brain and let me know what he think of that
I'm sure westerners are not flocking to Yangon at the moment. With all the unrest I don't think westerners would feel very safe. But I do like watching ESY I watch almost daily!!
i am a bachelor and live aboard my 38 foot Sail Boat on the Island here in deep South Texas , my Mercedes Roadster only holds 2 people .... However .... i would gladly pay the lease on a large condo if Aoi San , Phoo , Sandi and Snow were my '' roommates '' !!!!
@@jochenpeiper6797 What an interesting name you have. That guy came close to killing my-then 20-year-old American father during the Battle of the Bulge. My dad came away with terrible memories of that time but also came back with a 8mm Mauser 98, complete with swastika on the barrel. He hunted and fished all of his life and that Mighty Mauser took down a lot of deer. He died in 1993 and I still hunt deer and wild pig here in California with that Mauser.

I really enjoy this beautiful young lady's work."Sandi has lot of energy, love that".(Thanks lovely Sandi, keep up the marvelous work, stay safe sweetie, and I'll see you later Precious).
Thanks for the video Sandi. I guess that is inexpensive compared to most USA prices. A retired person could live pretty good in Myanmar even if they have small income.
It is possible to negotiate an even lower price now due to the weakness of the Kyat currency and the vacancy of many of these condo units. Many Burmese investors are not able to rent out these condominiums due to the current lack of foreigners in Myanmar.
@@EatSleepYangon I was doing remote work in Saigon until January, when my company made us return to office. If I could get another remote job, I would certainly like to live in Yangon
Thanks for recognising Jasmine. Jasmine appeared in our videos before the "political event" that happened 2 years ago. After that we sadly lost touch with Jasmine, but she is still OK as she is still active on social media.
@@EatSleepYangon Oh thank you very much for telling me about Jasmine. I'm glad she is ok.she is so sweet and beautiful! I remember the video when she was playing with monkeys! :-)
Maybe not monkeys, maybe it was an ant eater, with the long nose. Jasmine picked it up but she was not afraid of it. She tried to help the other girl to not be afraid of that animal. Jasmine is always trying to help other people, to make them feel safe. The Buddha would be happy about this. :-)
This is a very interesting and informative video, hosted by superstar Sandi and even super-cute Jasmine was here. ESY girls are all awesome! Love to you all from Orcutt, California.
what about Starlink broadband? certainly the hackers are not penetrating that so it should be very reliable and its prolly less in Myanmar than the USA, in the USA its $125 per month for static set up and a $599.00 hardware fee.. I think mobile set up is $135 per month?
We didnt include those as they will vary a lot from person to person. Health care insurance of course has a lot to do with age etc. Visa costs vary depending on the type of visa and length of your stay as well. We may address these costs in another video that allows us to go into more detail.

I think there is still a travel advisory against travel to Myanmar at least in the U.S. I know that doesn't stop a lot of people though.
