Safe travels, bro. You should be mostly safe if you stay in the big cities such as Yangon, Mandalay, or Naypyitaw. Foreigners are usually left alone unless they happen to be in some restricted areas. But do keep your eyes and ears open, because things can change quickly - the country is in civil war.

I've been to Myanmar four times over the years. The first time was when they were ruled by the junta before the opening up, and at that time it was very closed. No cell phones, internet only at internet cafes, most folks wearing traditional clothing, old Japanese cars. Then subsequent visits after the opening up there were always rapid and huge changes. They junked the aged Japanese cars and newer cars were seen (and a lot more of them), cell providers came in and made phones accessible to more folks, more people adopted Western clothes, big modern malls came in, etc. It still has its charm and unique culture and is an amazing place to visit filled with friendly and wonderful people. I hope to go back again one day.

Shouldn't the goal of a Journalist be to report the facts, whether they be positive or negative?
Seeking to report only material that supports a specific narrative is called propaganda or an advertisement. You don't ask a movie studio for an honest review of it's movies, you ask a movie critic with no connection or bias for that studio.

I'm from the Philippines. We had/have a civil war for the longest time and it's ridiculous how the foreign press exaggerates the news. Even worse are the travel advisories from Western embassies from countries that have normalized mass shootings of civilians and hooliganism. The skirmishes in remote areas and the problems that come with a civil war are real, but for the larger number of the population, life goes on. And I doubt the Myanmar situation is anywhere near Ukraine's. Thank you for this video as I'm planning to visit Myanmar again, this time with the whole family.

Do you think it is safe to visit Addis Abana Ethiopia over the next few months? My wife has family there, but the last few years have been challenging. We are mixed couple with 6 year old daughter.

Yes it’s okay but you definitely have to be a lot more careful than in the past.

One reason to keep major cities all sparkling is to hide the horrors in the rest of the country.most regimes around the world do this.

My heartbroken side tells me whatever civil war is going on in Myanmar is a direct karma for their ethnic cleansing campaign against the Rohingya Muslims. But my optimistic side tells me most people were uninformed and got brainwashed by their government into believing they were right almost like what’s going on with the Israeli genocide. I want to believe the latter is true and really hope it is. Thanks for representing us Muslims in a positive way and being a good example.

Word of the day: Ne Kaun La 😁😁
    You’re a consistent legit coffee taster 😁
By the way, Yangon is a nice place.
And the room boy at the hotel has a smiling face 😊
First time your bathroom is separate from the hotel room, the good thing is the bathroom is super clean 👍🏻
Enjoy your Myanmar journey, Myer. Be safe
