@@forbiddenrng1627 Iron Maiden is relevant today because Paul put them on the map. Love the guys vocals!! Love Bruce too but I wish Bruce wouldn’t try to sing Murders in the Rue morgue. He doesn’t do it justice
Iron maiden played my town last Saturday night and I was thinking about Paul being the reason we're here. I had no idea what was so close to happening. RIP, Sir Di'Anno.
Going to see MAIDEN in Toronto this Saturday OCT 26, and was talking to my 19 yr son about Paul maybe doing shows on the 50th tour in Europe. Shame that "if" it was something they had talked about doing, now will never happen. I hope they do something to pay tribute to Paul during the 50th Anniversary tour as he really was a cornerstone of their foundation in the beginning. RIP Paul, the pain and heartache is gone for you. We'll remember you, UP THE IRONS!!
The best to iron maiden albums ever growing up in the basement in Wilmette, Illinois, baby I wore those albums out May he rest in peace. It saddens me to hear that that’s the iron made it I like and love.
I got home from work and I saw a message from my best friend that he’d passed. I was devastated. Rest in peace Paul. We’ll all remember you not just tomorrow, but forever.
Only heard about it today. Cried as I hadn't cried for a long time.Thank you for all the hours spent listening to your voice. You will always be in our hearts my dear. Apart from family and friends, a warm hug to all Maiden fans on this sad day. We all know what he means to us. 💔 RIP.
You, sir, have given a wonderful tribute to a fallen metal icon. This Iron Maiden fan thanks you for the heartfelt and dignified video in honor of one of metal's pioneers. Rest In Peace, Paul, and if there is a metal heaven, please tell Lemmy, Ronnie, Bon and the others hello. We still love them.
Bruce pays an emotional tribute to Paul Di' Anno at St. Paul Minnesota. Bruce and Adrian wipe tears away from their eyes before playing The Time Machine.
Paul’s voice in Iron Maiden and Killers encompassed so many of my feelings as a teenager and beyond, such a bummer he passed, I would have liked to see him sing live even if many years later than what he is most known for. What a spirited talent he was. Where I feel Bruce sings like a history teacher giving a lecture, Paul brought the emotion and angst of the lyrics in the first two albums to life! He made me feel like there was a killer behind me, or that I was being visited by otherworldly spirits as I passed away from this earth (figuratively)- I’m sure Paul was carried away by the guardian type of angels, even though he sang about the flip-side of that. He deserves that send off anyway!
"Running Free" is more poignant than it's ever been. These deaths in metal make you realize how quick time passes. R.I.P. Sir Di'Anno. \m/ Killers was my first Iron Maiden LP. I bought it because of the album cover (being a Yank... I hadn't heard much of their music before then.) It was well worth my allowance. :) Been a fan ever since. Up the Irons!
Killers was a HUGE album for me as a kid getting into heavy metal in the early eighties. A classic in my book. Thanks for the inspiration, Paul! Rest in peace.
Di'Anno was THE voice of the NWOBHM movement, there's so much that could be said about his work, not only for Maiden, but otherwise too- His singing will always be real brilliant. R.I.P. man.
That's so sad. I watched him last year in London with KK Priest. It was unbelievable watching him sing with the wheelchair, a real metal concert. May he rest in peace.
While I’m too young to have any memories of Paul’s tenure in Iron Maiden, I definitely have come to respect what he accomplished with Iron Maiden. My former boss’s favorite album of theirs is Killers. I can only imagine what shock this news would be to him. Rock In Paradise, Paul Di’Anno.
It hurts me so much.. he had so much plans to play and tour. He was and still is my idol. The kindest person i ever met… thought/hoped it was fake news and my heart dropped when i found out it was real… was planning to see him in 2 weeks in London just to meet him again I knew he was sick but it came out of nowhere :( May he rest in peace
Aw man, sad to hear. Paul, RIP. The first two Maiden albums are top of my list of the best, I've always loved his voice and energy on those and Women in Uniform.
Paul was a trailblazer in his own right. The attitude and vocals were absolutely groundbreaking and paved the way for one of the most influential bands of all time.
Absolutely heartbroken by his passing. Paul was the first vocalist I can recall hearing age 5, phantom of the opera was the song. I was due to see him for the first time in Manchester in just two weeks and it makes me so sad that i never got to hear him perform live but I can take comfort knowing he's in a better place jamming with Clive. His music will live on forever. Rest in peace, legend ❤️🤘
See ya later mate.Thank you for helping give birth to one of the best Metal of all time , and for all the other awesome music you brought to life , Rest Now In Metal Valhalla
Back in the 90's I met and "worked" with Paul. He was in a bit of a bad place in those days, I was working alongside another previous Iron Maiden guitarist and a young man who would go on to change another very famous British Heavy Metal band 🐦🔥🤫. I liked Paul, he was a straight down the middle sort of bloke, but like many of us, he had his own crosses to bear. I'll always look back on that short time with fondness, maybe with a bit more "what coulda been" than is healthy, but as they say; A life without regrets, is a life not lived. RIP Paul.
Sad but not shocked by his passing, he was sick and didn't have money or he didn't care with his health. His legacy with the two Maiden albuns will live on, rest in power.
RIP Paul...I recall the summer of 1981. Maiden was really taking off as fall as Metal goes and my friends and I would get together, smoke and blast Killers so loud, the windows on the house would shake! Thank you and rock on in that big place where you are.
RIP Paul... thanks for giving me the influence to be a musician myself... you may be gone but your voice will live in our hearts and the hearts of future irons.. forever ❤
Thanks for doing this. I'm just it must have been tough for you. Early Maiden always felt like a punk/metal crossover band. You've got to remember in the UK at this time, punk ruled and old school metal like Zeppelin and Purple were yesterday's news. Paul's look and sound were punk but the music was that and more and the more was the new metal, based with roots in 70's rock greats, elevated by to Paul to be something else and set Maiden on their way to where they are now.
RIP Paul. Those first two Iron Maiden albums are among the best the band ever made. I mean, Top Five best - along with Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, and Powerslave.
A major part of my childhood has gone, my late father got me to buy the first two Maiden albums when I was 8/9 in the late 80s and what sn impact they had!
Very sad news for his family, his friends and the thousands of fans 😢 Rock in Peace Paul ! I guess Maiden will pay tribute to him at the next show in St Paul.
OMG. I thought this, was a wind up. Stunning vocalist. I'm sure maiden and the wider community will come together and share his life. God bless and condolences to his family.
Man I wanted so much to go see Paul perform. His era of Iron Maiden brings back so many memories that I can't hear any of it without feeling some kind of way about it.
14 years old watching the video Women in Uniform that was it , then we had radio show here in Toronto Midnight Metal Hour play the New Wave of British Metal , I had Killers. self titled record, Maiden in Japan, with Paul he started my Iron Maiden journey as with many Maiden fans back then, Paul was a big part of Iron Maiden's success in the beginning, Phantom has left the Opera , Rip Paul
The sad thing for me about Paul's passing is I was kind of hoping Iron Maiden would take a page from Helloween and have a big reunion gig with ALL the vocalists - Paul, Bruce, and Blaze - together, singing the songs from the albums they were featured on and providing some added vocal backups for each other on the others that were not "their songs". Helloween pulled it off fantastically without it becoming a "frontman surge" or anything like that - so Maiden could have easily executed their own "Pumpkins United" (I guess for IM it would be more of a "Killers United") gig.
I went to see a band play in Plymouth years ago and saw another band called killers. I had no idea who they were until the night was over. At least I saw him in real life. RIP Paul.
When Eddie Van Halen passed away I felt shadow. Iron Maiden is my favorite band. It's so special. Bruce rocked but Paul was a legend. Without him Maiden wouldn't have been the same. I feel the vacuum. Om Shanti.
Such sad, sad news. I met and chatted with Paul in 1992 on the Metal Education Tour for his band Killers. He was a lovely guy and the band were brilliant that night. RIP Paul Dianno. And thank you for your contribution to Iron Maiden and Heavy Metal.
This is a reminder to all of us to enjoy the band while it lasts. Not that they are all going to die soon, but the band won't last forever. Ironically he died with 66(6) years old!
Rest in Peace Paul... Thanks for all you've done in music, for Maiden, for all of us. My heart is broken... Farewell brother, be happy in your last journey😢

😢 I was hoping he would get to play with Maiden on their Anniversary tour. At least I got to see him with his solo band.
