  • How to Make a Pull Skein from a Ball Of Yarn, No Winding Required
I used Knit Picks Cotton Yarn, you can see all the colors here: shrsl.com/10uh5 While you’re there, don’t forget to check out the Dishie Multi Yarn colors too.
Making a pull skein from a standard ball of yarn is really easy, even if it doesn’t go perfect. I show you how in this video, and you even get to see what happens when it’s NOT perfect. No more flopping balls of yarn while you try to crochet. An no need to wind all your yarn before you start.
    ** SHOW NOTES & RESOURCES **
    1. I love Knit Picks Cotton Yarn to see all the rich colors just click this link: shrsl.com/10uh5. Knit Picks calls this yarn Dishie. It’s 100% cotton, worsted weight. Best part, it’s no more expensive than the ‘big’ name brands. While you’re looking don’t forget to check out the Dishie Multi Yarn colors too.

Thank you so much for sharing this video! I remember back in the day when finding the tail end of the yarn was relatively easy but that’s no longer the norm now. By the time I roll a skein into a ball, my hands are tired and I’m frustrated and i no longer want to crochet! Now, thanks to you sharing this video, I won’t have to go through all that nonsense anymore. 😊

Thank you so much !!! I have never been that careful about pulling the guts out. I just grab a loop close to what looks like the middle and hope half the skein doesn't come out ... LOL. I will try it your way next time. I love fiddling with yarn. Tangles don't bother me. I like winding my own center pull balls. I learned to make a "thumb ball" years ago and when my yarn gets unmanageable, I make one and I love it. It's like a piece of art as well. It's all part of the process. I hope you make lots more videos !!!

Even when you're careful, you can still get a "yarn barf" (a term a close friend taught me). I learned the pull skein trick about 30 years ago, I don't use it as much now that I have a yarn winder, but there's still times I don't want to mess with yarn winder and just do it by hand. I will be making a lot of videos, so don't worry ;-) I intend to this for years to come.

That's why I was so happy when it happened in the video. So good to show people the truth instead of things being 'staged', lol.

I have been using this method for years, but boy, again you have made it so much easier to find that starting thread... THANK YOU!
Can you recommend any other yarn from Knit Picks for crocheting?

I'm so glad this helped you. From Knit Picks there are 3 I love. You know the cotton. I also love their Palette (fingering weight) because of the color selection and I use it for most of my Fiber Art. And, Wool of the Andes Superwash (worsted weight).

@@dacdacgirl-alex3213 I'm sure you'll love the cotton. It's wonderfully soft and very thirsty, lol. Let me know when you get your order, and tell me what you think :-)
