sometimes DVDs have some exclusive bonus features not on blu ray, or original theatrical audio sound. I just recently bought Terminator 1 & 2 DVDs for the theatrical audio, which a lot of the new blu rays have done away with, and instead they have their new remixes with modern sound effects. And they sometimes change color timing of film. it’s film revisionism. It’s usually the studio releases that have these changes. I’m so glad boutique labels and certain studios keep it everything original as intended. this is why sometimes I gotta keep the old DVDs.

Hey it's my first time seeing your channel. Great to see another Maiden fan loving the horror. I love that Return Of The Living Dead artwork.
There's some great titles you got there. If The Rage is Carrie 2 then I really enjoyed it. It ties in nicely with the original.
I still get a buzz seeing the classic on DVD in cex or charity shops and sometimes I buy them. Only if I've never seen them though. I have a similar haul video in my haul playlist where I picked up some horrors.
    Great video.

I have got over 3000 DVDs - main challenge is storming them. They are located in my summer house and garage. I have loads of anchor bay discs - real shame that the company is no longer around - they produced great Hammer boxsets.
There are so many films that are only available on dvd - I love Buffy the vampire series which was released with great packaging but has not got a Blu-ray version - luckily the DVDs are of good quality and have great features.

First DVD I ever bought was "Dune", the extended 'Japanese' version, a longer intro I think from memory. A friend of mine used to be a film reviewer for various magazines, he would be sent DVD's by the companies concerned and most would be marked as 'not for retail'. Last time I spoke to him he had something like 2000 of them, a lot were unrated and a few never got a official release. I still drool over that collection.

I first of all want to say thank you for being a real collector. I say that because you are a real collector that collects things out of the love for it. Thats the real value an resion to collect things. The future amount it may go for doesn't matter to you Thats why you are a real collector. I have to say this because some people say they are real collectors. But they are not they are just resellers an only resellers. Because they only buy things an say things like. I can get it for $20 now an sell it later for like $60 they always talk about it like its money. But say they are real collectors when they don't understand what that means.
Now I collect DVDs an Blu-rays manly because I don't see or feel the need to move to 4k. But I do have some 4ks but thats because they are Shout/ Scream Factory. Versions of collectors editions an things like that that come with a 4k and a Blu-rays disk. Basically I got them because it comes with a Blu-ray disk only Im not saying there's anything wrong with 4k but. I just don't see a need for it in my life right now.
Here's one thing that some people may not know about some DVDs. They may have a secret main menu option not listed under the special features. Like for example on the MGM DVD version of Killer Klowns from outer space. If you let the main menu keep playing long enough a secret option will appear in the middle of it. Then I have a copy of Alien on DVD that if you keep moving the select Corsair around. Mainly to the bottom of the main menu one of the holes in the floor with be selected and it's a secret menu. That talks about different parts of the Alien life cycle like egg Facehugger Xenomorph. That disk is in the Aliens versus Predator pack it has the basic 4 original Alien movies. Aloolng with Predator 1 an 2 and Predator versus Alien 1 and 2 something like that. On DVD that's just two examples of secret main menu options on DVDs there is alot more out there. So my advice is with DVD main menus play around with them. Let it sit for awhile an don't touch the remote because a secret option may pop up. Along with move the option select thing around like push it up as high as it will go. Then do the same thing with the down direction. Then do the same thing to the left and to the right. You just may find a secret menu option you never know.
Then some things never get a Blu-ray or 4k release. They are lucky to just get a DVD release. Like for example I love the movies Reeker 2005 an No Man's Land The rise of Reeker 2008. In region A/1 it only available on DVD probably because of how the original people who are going to release. Reeker 2005 released it the movie got basically nothing in the United States where the movies were made. Basically it was only quietly shown on TV a few times an thats it. But in other countries it got shown in movie theaters an everything. In those countries those movies came out on Blu-ray and 4k. So sometimes getting a movie on DVD is the only option for reasons like this. Because why would they make a Blu-ray or 4k version of a movie in say the United States. When hardly anyone knows that movie or movies even exist. But in countries that it got the full release treatment lots of people know about the movies. So they get the full treatment DVD, Blu-ray and 4k. I also strongly recommend Reeker 2005 an No Man's Land The rise of Reeker 2008 for a different an interesting kinds of horror movies. The watch order doesn't matter because they made sure to make. No Man's Land The rise of Reeker watchable if you don't see Reeker 2005. So they made No Man's Land The rise of Reeker as a stand alone movie that just so happens to have the Reeker in it. On the bonus features for it they said they had to because of how. Reeker 2005 was released in the United States where practically no one heard of that movie or seen it. But if you see Reeker 2005 first No Man's Land The rise of Reeker will an can act. Like a sequel to Reeker 2005.
But yeah for some reasons some things only get a DVD release.
