I wonder what the state of blu ray collecting will be like 10 years from now when almost everything not released on 4K will be out of print and rare. We've seen many titles not make the jump from VHS to DVD or DVD to Blu Ray. In the case of 4K, I bet it will be hundreds, if not thousands of titles that don't make the jump considering the cost of restoring titles for a higher definition format and the more limited demand. I imagine most will begrudgingly adopt digital at some point. At the end of day, film is about enjoying the movies without having to spend a fortune on limited edition packaging. It's also more difficult to justify paying exorbitant prices on movies if they're not helping to subsidize the release of new titles.
I already have several dozen OOP titles but not knowing thier worth, threw out the packaging when I had to make a difficult move which would make them far less desirable.

Basketball Diaries had a great Korean BD release in 2016 from Kimchidvd, in a clear Scanavo case with a Fullslip and 24p booklet, got it for just $29 then.
I don't have Tomcats though, didn't order it at the time somehow...
There's another rarity that I do have, if you make more videos like this, Bedazzled with Brendan Fraser and amazing Elizabeth Hurley - discovered recently it's also around $150... 😂
The Beach was released on one of those kinda bootleg Blu-rays in Spain by a company called Resen. They have many such nowhere else in the world BDs, transfers are not great, but still better than DVD, they're usually HDTV scans or those copies that are used for streaming or sale as a digital copy. But at least they're on factory pressed discs, not BD-Rs like Chinese crap on eBay.
Got a few films like that, Extreme Measures, Murder by Numbers, Murder at 1600, Addicted to Love (one of my All-time favorite comedies), Wag the Dog, etc.
Was about to buy Phantoms ("Affleck was da bomb in it" 😂), but Shout Factory announced a UHD!
Their True Lies from D-VHS is now the best version, after what Cameron done to it - I was waiting for the official release for 10 years, only to end up buying that bootleg available since 2014. 🤦

yea I grabbed Power Rangers new for $20 right before it sold out everywhere, I was just randomly looking in the kids movie section 1 day & boom lol
Dangerous Beauty is very much more on the "love story" side of films than action lol Shakespeare In Love has more action in it haha

Honestly even asking $10 for Tomcats is overpriced. I’m also surprised Cruel Intentions hasn’t been reissued.

lmao not going to lie you might be right, plus I drove 45min there & back to get it, but it was so worth it cause it's really hard to find online & when it is, people are charging over $100 for it 🤯
Cruel Intentions needs a 4k. i'm really surprised it's becoming OOP.

Some interesting movies. Bought Tomcats at Blockbuster back in the day on a lark and loved it. DOA is dumb fun. Just watched Eight Days A Week. Not bad.

Dude with these movies going out of print I'll just get the DVD. Unless the DVDs high dollar. And I'll probably just hope for a re-release.
There was a DVD that I wanted that went completely out of print can't find anywhere so that's one of the few movies I've actually bought digitally. I'm getting some good recommendations from you. Because I miss the old comedies

Thanks man! DVD is still a great format! I still have more DVDs than I do Blu-Rays. 1990-2010 is my favorite era or movies.
What DVD were you looking for that is out of print?

      @@thelastmoviestanding it's silly.
I have every movie that Robert bronzi has stared in( he's Charles Bronson's look like and He's a fan too)
His movies are totally be movies but they're fun to me.
The DVD is called Cry Havoc.
I can't find it anywhere. I know it has a release here.
It's the fourth movie in the playing with dolls series by Rene Perez. Part 2 is the best one. Part 3 sucks.
Part 4=Cry Havoc is cool because is got Bronzi.
