Man, I forgot about this gem - thanks for showcasing it! I’ve come to the realization that there are no bad Lynyrd Skynyrd songs, just good ones and great ones! Keep ‘m coming!
All killer no filler my friend! That's the way Ronnie rolled! This and Workin' For MCA are my favorite on Second Helping. I Never Dreamed is probably my all time favorite Skynyrd song.
It's soooooo nice to see young brothers and sisters really getting into this music just because it is so cool, like I've been doing for 50yrs!❤❤🎉
@@harleycharleysft You're lucky to have lived it!
@Charles Watkins - right there with you brother! I was a teenager in the 70’s and that when my music tastes were formed. I guess I’m biased, but musically, I can’t think of a better era to grow up in!
@@Gordy6320 years old and I agree
Lynyrd Skynyrd just had IT plain and simple
This is one of their most under apprecited songs....love the guitar work and of course Ronnie's voice!!!
It’s one of their best
One of their best! Thanks for going deep with this group!
Our pleasure!
@@AsiaandBJ
Great song. I have every Lynyrd Skynyrd album, seen them twice. Had the pleasure of taking my son to see them in 2018, he was 9 at the time. Had a blast.
@@AsiaandBJ
Freebird is probably their most known song.
You need to review "On The Hunt" AND "Cry For The Bad Man".
These "Kids" were ahead of their time.
They were all young musical geniuses, that absolutely blew other musicians out of the water.
I see what your saying. But for me growing up in the 70s and in Florida the home state of the Great Lynyrd Skynyrd on top of that. I thank God they were in exactly the right place and time for me.
I'm a Jacksoille native, My Mom was in radio at the time Skynerd was starting. I was around them as a kid but didn't realize who they were. I just knew they were music people and I really didn't realize that I was fortunate to be around a prolific group of musicians. Southern Rock has more or less passed ìn music today but there are a few tribute bands that keep the music alive. Thanks for the review. It means a lot to me to see the rest of the world appreciate their body of work. Those guys were not really given the notoriety of the music business and seeing this to me is vindication that they truly were great...
If you're from Jacksonville and you were around them then why can't you spell Skynyrd correctly it's not Skynerd
Asia & BJ, you’ll love their "Gimme Three Steps" and "What's Your Name?"!!
Agreed.
This song is so underrated. Great reaction!
Great deep cut track.
A couple of weeks ago an era finally ended. We lost the last remaining original member and a co-founder of the band, guitarist Gary Rossington, known for his smooth and soulful slide guitar work and note bends who added that signature textured sound that Lynyrd Skynyrd is known for. He survived both the car crash that gave birth to the song "That Smell" and then a year later was one of the survivors of the infamous plane crash that killed a few members of the band and crew.
RIP to All the OG members of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
TECNICALLY Artimis is still alive but revisionist history makes everyone say no OG members are alive. Gary was the co-founder for sure, but Artimus replaced Bob Burns in 1974/75 and played with the OG band and MOST of the music you heard on the last 3 skynyrd albums as well One More From the Road (the OG bands only live album at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, GA) is Artimus Pyle. But yea, Gary was an AMAZING influence on many a guitar player and he will be sorely missed.
@@hbitsorg2275 You can say the same thing about Ed King who actually was the creator of many of the opening riffs on many big hits they had. Again I was referring to that original founding core that got the ball rolling before they added on key replacements and/or additions. I guess one can split the pre-plane-crash era as the Founding group and the popular Recording/Touring group.
@@artsilva 100% Ed King was instrumental in the sounds we all associate of Skynyrd
@@artsilva I agree with you. I think for me one big issue is that the modern ''Lynyrd Skynyrd'' which really consist of NONE of the OG band members, combined with the fact that they continuously act as if Ricky Medlocke was with Skynyrd in their heyday, and completely ignore the existence of Artimus Pyle is interesting to say the least. But yep, Ed King doesn't get enough love for sure, nor does Al Kooper who basically MADE Skynyrd
I had heard this song only once before. Definitely one of their best. Goes back to their Southern blues roots. You can hear the mournful slide guitar at the end, Gary Rossington used it to produce some sound affects on a lot of songs. Incidentally he was the last founding member of LS who just passed away March 5th
Great choice! It’s such a great vibe from their Second Helping album 🔥
I just love watching you youngins... as a 54 yr old white guy... im refreshed to see people still be themselves and dont buy into all the media hype. We are all the same lovin great music.. But the hat is the bees kneez Go Chiefs!
Fellow Texans , Really need to do Lynyrd Skynyrd Free Bird - Live at Knebworth ,, this live version is the best and will blow you away !!!
Sing it Asia!! You should do a version of this one.
Deep cut! Most don’t know this treasure ! You both do and I’m happy !
Guitar, Guitar & More Guitar. Allen Collins & Gary Rossington were masters at matching the vibe of the lyrics and just played awesome on every song they played.
I’m so happy you guys found Skynyrd. I’m 62 and Skynyrd’s been my #1 band for decades.I saw them in ‘76 when I was about 15. The plane crashed the following year as everyone knows. Their a band anyone can get into.
Played and sang this at my wedding, though not to Skynyrd’s level, back in 1988!!! Still brings tears to my eyes and we are still happily married.
I love your channel and the variety of music you listen too!!!
Blessings!!!
I've been watching your reaction videos for a pretty long time now and I knew the first time I heard you react to Skynyrd that you'd like them. Here we are, pretty deep into their catalog and I don't think I recall one yet that you guys haven't liked. I think Asia's right that this band basically epitomized that genre. There's other great southern rock bands. The Allman Bros, Molly Hatchet, Blacksnake, The Outlaws, etc, but there was definitely something about this band that set them apart as the `poster children` for Southern Rock. I think Ronnie had a lot to do with that.
Blacksnake? Did you mean Blackfoot?
Wife here...Thank You for this deep cut..I have loved this year's upon years..Such a sense of Longing and Lonliness (the Lyrics and Instrumentation ) invokes these feelings...AMAZING SONG & REACTION..I agree thistles you back to their" Shoals"days..AWESOME SONG and REACTION!!!👍🌹
Those guitars are universal language, made me absolutely love Lynyrd Skynyrd!! Welcome to the rabbit hole 🕳️
Love it! Thank you for reacting to this deeper track of theirs. I have always loved this song. I was lucky to see them live 3 months before the plane crash. Love their music - brings back great memories. I'd recommend more deeper tracks: I Know a Little, Things Goin' On, Don't Ask Me No Questions, On the Hunt, Swamp Music, Workin for MCA, Call Me the Breeze...the list goes on and on...
5:05 shakes her head in disbelief of how amazing this song is 😊
I Never Dreamed - Lynyrd Skynyrd.
I’m a skynard fan through, and through. I can’t believe y’all choose this song! Just wow!!! I love y’all’s diversity of music!!!!
First time I've seen your channel. Loving your appreciation, love and review of this little known Skynard classic and for the respect given to the band. They're one of my all time favorites
Wow a Skynyrd song I haven't heard. It sounds very close to their inception in style and very raw and rootsy. Upon the advent of FM radio bands like this and others who had great long songs "Stairway to Heaven", "Roundabout", "Freebird" etc. got their due finally. I remember CHUM FM in Toronto would feature entire albums non-stop on Wednesday evenings. Every new album that came out you could sample there before buying.
What a great format for a radio station to bad there weren’t more like it. A great way to separate the Johnny come lately,s from the Real Deal.
Love y'all! That pulse/throb sounding effect of that sweet mellow guitar is called tremolo. Probably from a Fender amp (given when it was recorded) although they make plenty of pedals for that effect these days. This is one of my favorites! Great vibe. Thank you for doing this one!
So now you need to do another deep cut from Skynyrd called “One More Time” ♥️🎸🎤🔥♥️ It’s amazing with a great sound & story!!
Yeah this one’s always been one of my favorites from them.
I love it. Lynyrd Skynyrd's frist 2 albums are great.
Awesome guys! Keep going down the Lynyrd Skynyrd rabbit hole. You won’t be disappointed.
First time I’ve seen anyone react to this one! Such a banger!
GOD bless you on the sneeze. When I seen what song you were reacting to I knew you you both would love the lyrics. Especially Miss Asia. When she read more than just a piece of lay. You could see it in your face. One of my favorite ballads.
You need to check out the "Ballad of Curtis Lowe". Another great Skynyrd tune!
FINALLY y’all got to this!!!! This is so good & underrated!!!
It took me a few days to get around to watching your reaction on this one because I’m still feeling the loss of the last original member of the band Gary Rossington. Growing up in the 70s and in Florida the home state of the Great Lynyrd Skynyrd. For those reasons and more this band has always been close to my heart and will always remain so. Thank You Gary and Forever Fly Free.
I'm a 60 year old and I love seeing young people react to my music. You guys are awesome
Thank yall so much for this reaction. I been a Skynyrd fan all my life. I'm 44 and they ain't one of their songs I don't like.and yes Muscle Shoals right here in sweet home Alabama is where their recording all started!!!
I’m so glad 2 hear Y’all, mention Muscle Shoals, that was a educational process 4 my intellect, I myself enjoyed it, 2 no end, I actually requested that 2,Y’all, hope Y’all enjoyed lykewise 😎😎👍👍
Yall reall need to check out documentary " If I leave here tomorrow" it's all about SKYNYRD
Although I believe every single Skynyrd song is a good one, this is one of my absolute favorites!!!! Thank you!
Probably one of my favorite by them! Thanks guys.
Our pleasure!
My most favorite song ever! I will say….I’m the lyrics…..it’s “I need you more than a piece of LEG”…..not LAY….I’ve noticed a few lyric sites have the wrong lyric for that part…..that phrase was so popular back then! ✨❤️
An overlooked classic. Great guitar work, and real emotion in the lyrics. And I just *love* that heavy bass line.
This is my all time favorite songs from Skynard! Also, it is wonderful to know that this music that I grew up with in the seventies is still some of the most meaningful (at least for me) even still today! It was a time that was much more simple and easier going than it is today. In those days music was great in all genres! ZZ Top, the Commodores, Willie Nelson, it goes on and on. It was a time that women were cherished more and were treated with respect. I'm very Happy that younger folks are loving this music and enjoying it like were did. I raised all of my daughter's on it and they still love it today! What's funny is my grandchildren love and they range from college to preschool. Anyway, that's my two cents! I also want to say that I really enjoy watching y'all and I watch your old reactions as well as the new one's! Y'all are a Hoot! Go Texas!
Blues, had a huge impact on a lot of different music genres, but it was really evident in Southern Rock!
Love what you guys do. From the south we love all kinds of music. It does our heart good to see folks appreciate the pain and sole that goes into southern music. It's too often the outs of an inside joke. That's because no one takes the time to listen to it. Folks just believe what is said about it..
Gary Rossington died March 5th he played the lead guitar on that song
I love that you did this song. I am from the south and got to see them before they were famous. I was a teen at the time.
This is one of my favorites. Glad you shared it with us ❤❤❤
My pleasure 😊
BJ I love you rocking the KC Chiefs Hat! One of their great Bluesy tunes
Personal favorite from LP “Second Helping”. Unexpected & appreciated choice for a reaction.
BJ, good singing man!! 👏👏👏
I love this song havent heard in years ty for sharing. ❤❤❤
My favorite southern rock band of all time! They made so much great music in such a short time. Please keep checking them out. “T for Texas “ is probably my favorite if I had to pick 1.
I remember you guys liked my favorite band The Steel Woods. They have a cover of this song that is absolutely fantastic. Not many bands can do do Skynyrd justice, but they are one of them.
One of their best songs in my opinion
This song has always had a haunting, mournful kinda sound to me. So bluesy & soulful. Skynyrd forever! RIP to all!
It's tremolo effect that's built right into his amplifier.
So ecstatic to find out you guys reacted to this song SO HIGHLY UNDERRATED still the one of the absolute best songs they ever made but radio rarely played ❤
This is my favorite Skynyrd song. Never seen anyone react to it. Another one you should check out is Four Walls Of Raiford
Thanks to my dad I've grown up with Lynyrd Skynyrd even though I'm born and raised in Sweden. He heard them once back in the 70's on the radio while driving his car on the country roads of Sweden and got their cd afterwards, and the rest is history. I love this band and will always do, and I have only my dad to thank for it. It wasn't until I grew up that I realised just how good they actually were.
Now that's a love song. Skynyrd is tough to beat.
Love love this song!!!!!
Great song by a Great R&R group.
That was Gary Rossington on his Gibson and he was just stretching the pain and longing out of them strings no wah-wah pedal needed !!! WHO DEY 🖤🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡
Muscle Shoals it's an actual studio in Alabama. Thanks for reviewing this song. I think a lot of Skynyrd is pushed aside
This one is smoothe . You guys should jump on " I aint the one" , "You got that right " ," Coming home ", "Need all my friends" (their very first recording along with "Michelle" ) , "Wino " , "Searchin' "Workin for MCA" . "Poison Whiskey ". "Don't ask me no questions " , Cry for the bad man " , "Trust " . Live versions are always much ,much better !!!! Half of these you won't find live , almost no reactions to any . Their best songs !!!!!! Loved season 2 sopranos finale today . Big Pussy sleeps with the fishes !! . Will be coming on w/ patreon next month after I finish a move this month . Skynyrd is the best live rock band in history . Ronnie would have been a fighting Field General had he gone to Vietnam !!!!!!!!! Other greats - Gimme 3 steps , " I know a little " , That smell " ,What's your name" . You 2 are great people !
Man the guitar of Rossington and Collins is so good you can hear the Blue tears dripping from their guitars.
This arrangement is 🔥🔥🔥
Such a classic, one of my favorites from that album
Couchoo Asia God bless you.😂 And BJ as well that was a great review ❤️ ✌️🙏💯
There ain't none better in southern rock than Lynyrd Skynyrd. Long live Skynyrd nation. Rock on y'all
my all-time favorite Skynyrd tune, takes me back to high school
One of my favorites along with I never dreamed, one more time. Street survivors album
I'm truly impressed. I've never seen anyone do this track. Much❤❤❤
Great song ! Probably a lot of hidden gems I haven't come to appreciate.
Two music studios in town of Mussel Sholes , checkout 2nd album called
Second Helping by Skynyrd
One word!! 🔥 FIRE… Always my my favorite
My wedding song. Great one. I like the line "I need you much more than just a piece of leg." Crude but ok.
Y'all gotta check out The Steelwoods/ Ashley Monroe version of this! Not usually a big fan of covers but it'll knock your socks off!
Just live singing and playing amazing.
“25-8!” 😂😂😂
Feelin ya BJ!!!
When we got it like that - & obviously you do! - it’s all good ‼️
Hell yeah, one of my favorites! ❤
Glad you enjoy it!

Love this song, 😀 ❤️ and lyrnrd skyrnrd is always awesome , listen to double trouble it's cool , swamp music is awesome too
✌️😊thank you Asia and BJ
There is no bad Lynyrd Skynyrd song, there never will be another Southern Rock band of this magnitude. This song is truly a masterpiece of vocal and guitar work blending together! God Bless The Lynyrd Skynyrd Band they are rocking it out in Heaven❤❤
No kidding you guys are getting into some low-key Skynyrd tunes ..
Lets GOOOOO
Such a great band !!!!!
Lynyrd Skynyrd is the best music to sit back drink a cold one and light up some smoke and chill
You two definitely need to watch "I'll Never Forget You" Gary Rossington" (R.I.P.) said they finally got it right, & it's the 95% Exact to being the absolute Truth. If you are a Skynyrd fan it's a much watch. Also I've never seen anyone react to 3 Skynyrd songs "TRUST" "AM I LOSING" AND "DOUBLE TROUBLE" I'm not sure why no one has ever reacted to these 3 songs or even "THE RAIL ROAD SONG" these songs really represent the band talent & diversity
Much Love ❤️ for all you two do. I'm disabled for me yall make my day regardless of what you react to, I enjoy the chemistry between you two
BRILLIANCE!!!
there's never been a sound, vibe like Lynard Skynard, truly amazing
Lynyrd Skynyrd, there is no A in it
Gary wasn't using a wah pedal on this song. Back then pretty much the only pedal he used was called a "phaser" and he used it most famously on Tuesday's Gone and Call Me The Breeze. He was more than likely using an amp called a Peavey Mace. They were SUPER LOUD amps with 4 twelve inch speakers CRANKED and that's how that get that "distorted" sound is when all the sound and air is trying to move through the speaker but it can't handle it and it creates that magical raunchy sound that we call "rock". Gary was the absolute man. If you want to hear an ACTUAL wah pedal in a Skynyrd song check out The Needle and the Spoon. It has a couple of GREAT solos by Allen Collins where he for SURE uses the wah pedal to pay homage to his hero Eric Clapton. I hope you see this and it helps you out!
My favorite! The band Steel Woods did a remake of this and it was well worth a listen.
Love how slow and deliberate this song is
Such an underrated Skynyrd Song.
Love you guys reactions!
You two would like the songs " you got that right"" and " One More Time "" by Lynyrd Skynyrd
