- Is the 4th generation 2020 Ford Focus ST the new king of Hot Hatches and beats the mighty Honda Civic Type R as the most advanced and fun FWD-car? Available with two engines (a 2.0L Ecoblue diesel with 190hp / 400 Nm and 2.3L Ecoboost petrol making 280 hp / 420 Nm) and two body styles the new Focus earned alot of praise by the motoring press. I picked this manual 2.3L wagon (ST Turnier) for two weeks of daily driving and even more hooning on my favourite back roads to find out just how good this car is. The manual is actually faster from 0-100 km/h / 0-60 mph than the 7 / 8 speed skip shift automatic Ford also offers. I loved the manual gearbox! I completely agree! Let's all do our part: call or write Ford US Customer Relationship Center and tell them what their American customers want. If we all contact them, maybe they'll realize it's a profitable business decision to bring the Mk4 Focus ST 6 spd manual transmission to the US/North American market. Wouldn't hurt to ask for the Fiesta ST and/or the Puma ST 6 speed manual as well!

Can't wait for this one, this is definitely a hot hatch! I really like the steering feel and manual transmission of the Fiesta and Focus. This new Focus ST should be amazing.
Coincidentally I have also got a premier review scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. But nothing as exciting as that Focus ST.

Awesome video!! Like I said before, Ford's making a big mistake not bringing this to the US. Even though I've seen them testing some prototypes. I've driven quite extensively a 2016 Focus ST, and I adored it. Truly fantastic steering and limit handling control. They really improved the last generation once they facelifted it for the US in 2015. I loved your last comment about buying the automatic version :))))

@@LiveLifeLasting Dude, if VW can bring the Mk8 GTI and Golf R to the North American market, so too can Ford bring the new Focus ST and/or Fiesta ST. There IS a market for this enthusiast's car, and it would DOMINATE the sales for sure in this market segment: it is the perfect all-rounder with looks, sound, performance, livability in a daily driver. Ford is making a HUGE mistake for not offering the Mk8 Focus ST here in the states.
@@TheGetawayer Because Ford pulled the plug on the Fiesta and Focus, I believe due in no small part to the fiasco with the DCT Powersh&$t automatic that brought about the class action lawsuit - it damaged Ford's reputation with their small cars in America. But the manual transmission Focus and Fiesta were reliable all along! My hope is they give it a few years to cool off, then reintroduce at least the Focus ST and/or Fiesta ST for the enthusiast buyers. I know there are countless customers that want to upgrade their previous generation car, not to mention all the new customers these new models would bring in for Ford. It would be a win for sure.
The wagon version is so good looking! I wish they didn't get rid of these in the US.😔

@@danielleroux6490 People have done this. They refuse. Ford is known to be stubborn like that. There has only been a few occasions where the loyalty customers wrote to them asking for something and they delivered. I believe they are mostly run by bean counters and not car people.

One thing I didnt like. The sound, at least on camera, sounds very syntethic, liked its enhanced. I would like better materials inside but thats the problem with stock focus.

Automatic available soon. Torque converter 7 speed. Already available in some markets.

I only found out during filming this review that Ford isn't offering the new Focus ST in US. Very sad, it's a brilliant car!
