Great mod and great video going over everything you need to know to do this mod. great video angles and good verbal instructions through out. Mod looks really good and performs on par with unmodded boxer. 3d print is also spot on. I also took plastic part of sma off and some foam in module bay as @prophead did. Thanks Dano!!
Did it today, also removed the plastic part around the sma connector by simply unscrewing the nut on the inner side. Added some foam inside the module bay for anti wobbeling. Signal seems to be as strong as before…maiden flight will follow! Thanks for this easy, clean and nice idea m8 ❤🤙🏻
just finished the mod and did a test flight w/ my 2.5" geprc phantom/cinerace20 frankenstein and had no noticeable difference w/ range. I flew to the where I'd start losing signal before the mod and was able to fly just as far w/ the mod. thanks for this. I like it a little more aesthetically than the stingerswarm variant. and, if I wanted a pristine holeless case again, it'd cost me 5.00 plus shipping from Radiomaster. thanks for sharing.
nice video! I have suspected my boxer antenna to be broken, it just free spins. You confirmed it with those pictures. I'm surprised more people don't talk about this problem... Ordered a new one, in the meantime I wonder if I could repair the one I have like you did. any tips for taking the antenna apart? I will probably end up doing this mod. Thanks for sharing
You have to take an xacto knife along the bottom of the plastic housing (closest to the main shaft that leads to the SMA). Its kind of hard to explain tbh. Just look from the SMA plug up to the main T part, you will see 2 splits on the bottom, thats where u should pry.
and make sure your buttons didnt fall out while thumbling around with the disassambly otherwise you will be very sad when you turn the radio around after everything ist done and you buttons are missing dont ask how i know that .....
@@DanoFPV I'd definitely watch that video. I'm going to see if the antennas are available from getfpv or RDQ soon, since they are local to me. Otherwise I'll pick one up from radiomaster. If it doesn't work, I'll have a backup for my pocket anyway.
