  • How to fix a Nissan P1320 engine code: Ignition Signal Primary Ignition system - circuit malfunction.
    Basic Ignition Circuit Overview
when the Engine starts, the Crankshaft Position Sensor generates a signal, which the PCM compares to signals generated by the Camshaft Position Sensors.
The PCM then sends the initial signal from the Crankshaft Position Sensor to a power transistor in the ignition coil to the “Primary Circuit”, which is low-voltage circuit to which code P1320 relates.
This circuit is amplified by the power transistor to induce the high-voltage circuit known as the “Secondary Circuit”, which represents the current that produces the ignition spark to the spark plugs.
Possible Causes of a Nissan P1320 Code:
    ⦁ Bad Ignition Coil
    ⦁ Bad Condenser
⦁ Faulty Wiring (Open - Short)
    ⦁ Crankshaft Position Sensor
    ⦁ Failing PCM
    What to Check
    ⦁ Secondary codes such as P0301, P0302, P0303
    ⦁ Power going to coils
    ⦁ Test coils
    ⦁ Test condenser
    ⦁ Check Wiring

My 2001 sentra is a mystery. The code appears 2 times on my scanner. Ive replaced about everything except pcm and crankshaft position sensor and the thing is still sounding like it wants to die.

@Jamesrdc my mechanic said the maf sensor voltage input is extremely low, and it could be a short in the wiring harness. Same issue?

hi there. i really appreciate your video. ive been having trouble with my 2002 nissan almera. it keeos dying as im driving. initially i thought its the battery and had it replaced to no avail. a guy came to do my driver and back right window as it wasnt working. however he noticed when he would pull each wire out of the pencil coil it would lose power and it wanted to switch off except for the one on the far right, it wasnt losing power. i tried swopping them around but it was still the one on the far right not losing power once the wire was pulled out. eventually i bought a new pencil coil but before i put it in somone suggested putting a screw driver in the connected ignition coil and look for a spark but nothing happened. this suggests its the wiring. the problem is i have no idea where or what to look for on the wires.

There must be a wiring issue which can be hard to diagnose sometimes.
