Phenomenal video. I agree so much with your point on maps. The BEST Halo maps (Valhalla, Guardian, Lockout, Last Resort, High Ground to name a few) were just all great ENVIRONMENTS. The environmental aspect of making atmospheric maps makes the game ten times more fun than generic arena after arena
Kelski with another banger Halo vid! I know it's not your focus but I'd love to see you do more with Halo, but regardless once PvE comes out (leaked for S5) I'll be very happy with Halo Infinite. Gotta say the Squad battle playlist has been great fun to play, might be the best mode in the game, and overall I've been enjoying Infinite a lot more since S4. The new leadership at 343 seem to be doing a good job so far!

There was actually a cut cutscene that was almost ready that was leaked a while back. It had the your soartan, Dinh, and ecklund fighting the irratus infection. Wish we had gotten that, maybe season 5? Just wish that they would let us see it because it’s finished.
343's art team is killing it these maps are beautiful. Big agree about Scar to many of the Btb maps just feel crowded, need Blood gultch feeling maps with a lot of open space
this game has actually been pretty fun lately. not just for quick play and ranked but also custom games. i’ve been able to get into PUG groups and do 6v6 ctf, 5v5 oddball, etc and everyone is on with mics and having a great time, some split off and go over to play some ranked, coming back into the group later, new ppl getting added etc. if 343 can just help with the social aspect this game could be a mainstay. will still need a relaunch of some sort though.
This video was great man, new follower acquired. I’ve been playing halo Infinite since the first beta, and I gotta say that I can agree on almost every point you have made. This game to me has the best gameplay of any halo game, and I have been playing Halo since 2010. It really sucks that this game didn’t launch as a full package, but things are defiantly ramping up and I couldn’t be more excited for the future of this game and Halo as a whole. I really feel that with the management changes, and recent hiring, that Halo as a whole has a very bright future, time will tell but I’m holding out hope that the best franchise and the best fps(in my opinion) has a bright and promising future ahead.

Me and my little brother find ourselves playing Halo Infinite much more than before after season 4 and the Squad Battle update especially. Things are looking up for Halo Infinite right now and I hope 343 takes all the fan feedback to give us a badass game worthy of the name Halo 👍
Apparently Forest is a reference to "the babysitter." From halo legends. That's kind of cool. Some 343 rank and file cared enough to remember that and pay homage to it.
Nice video. I agree with pretty much everything said here. The gameplay for this game has been pretty good throughout the game's lifecycle so far, it's just the bugs and crappy maps that really ruin a lot of the fun. It seems like 343 is finally realizing this and putting more remakes/community maps into the game. A game has to be fun on a fundamental level for people to want to play it competitively.
To this day 343 has absolutely no idea what to do with vehicles. In Halo 4 they were mostly invalidated by sprint and only worked on Ragnorok, their remake of Halo 3's Valhalla. In Halo 5 they could only be used to any significant degree in Warzone, a microtransaction fuelled hellscape. And they were pointless anyway because the points in that game mode were based on taking out AI bosses (at least at launch). The day I gave up on Warzone, was when I snuck a tank around the entire map, spent like 2 minutes going Stealth 100, lined myself up behind the enemy team and got like 20 kills. In a normal Halo mode, that genius play would have single handedly won my team the game. In Warzone, it contributed to maybe 2% of all the points accrued by my team, because the points were derived from AI targets that remained in one place so you might as well just use a rocket launcher on them. In Halo Infinite, every vehicle aside from the Ghost is made of paper and will take 3 seconds of fire from an assault rifle before exploding, and like you said, every single BTB map forces vehicles down narrow channels and give non-vehicle players elevated positions above them. The vehicles can't move anywhere near as much and are EXTREMELY easy targets compared to previous games. So they're utterly useless. Even the splatter physics barely work. And on top of that, if you're attacking a vehicle, it warns the player it's going to explode with an audio timer, so the player just jumps out and you have to fight them twice. 343 has no idea how to do vehicles.
Tbh, falling back on the animatics/slideshows as seasonal cutscenes would be cool. Would take us back to classics like Midnight in the Heart of Midlothian, etc.
Don't know if you noticed but right when they were talking about the cross-core coatings they mentioned that they were going to be in a single item along with emblems and shoulders, in season 5, that is because of how the game was designed to not support it but hey, at least they are changing it meaning we will get even more items on a single pass

Actually so real about squad battle and 343 maps sucking. Really enjoying squad battle with my friends and liking infinite for the first time in a while since they dropped forge.
The point of the threat detector was for ranked play. It's a more limited version of the sensor that can bounce around corners and only detects enemies within line-of-sight of where it detonates. It's only point is for ranked balancing.
Cloaks and hazmat suits make perfect sense. Especially in the Halo universe. 343 just don't know what they are doing. A cloak could be made out a a flexible, heat reflective material. It could be a cabon nanofilament/ceramic crystal titanium fiber or something that would cost tens of millions of dollars to create in reality. Samurai used parachutes to catch arrows aimed at their backs. Cloaks have always been useful. The standard spartan suit is rated for vacuum, not deep water. In dense atmosphere the seals would corode away with sufficient enough chemical exposure. Specialised, much more expensive equipment for working in a reactor or something makes perfect sense.

I honestly cannot stand 343's games anymore. As a huge halo fan as a kid until the release of infinite, ive never felt more appalled and bewildered to see how the franchise i grew up to and adored for years to the point a good sum of my life was dedicated to it, has fallen so far down a rabbit hole i never even want it to come back. Halo doesn't even look like halo to me anymore. The charm the old games had has been ripped out and thrown away to a soulless marketing exploit to take as much money as they can from people who call themselves fans of halo. The fact that it took two years almost to get one gamemode released on day one should show how much Microsoft and 343 care for halo. All the passion died when bungie left halo in order to create their own soulless project destiny. I'm genuinely surprised to see people still playing infinite after everything that happened. Hell i recently quit playing mcc just because of the bullshit where we still cant crossplay the campaigning to all but one game. Its been years, like wtf. I just can't stand seeing what happened to halo, even playing the old games on 360 makes me breakdown from remembering all the memories of playing halo. It hurts. I hate that i see shit like this and just... I want halo back, Not this washed up cash grab of a game...

I was annoyed at the weapons in team slayer & tactical slayer - but then they added BR's consistently so now I'm happy with that. Then they added Squad battle. Squad battle is god damn awesome. I like the Halo 2 maps. Overall I'm very happy with Halo Infinite.
Thanks for the video! I played squad battles and had insane levels of fun. Halo Infinite has the best gunplay/sandbox in the series, its just missing good maps and some equipment/vehicles/weapons

Very well put together video, I want to come back to halo infinite, I stopped playing with season 2 because the devs just didnt seem to care about the game anymore. and Im suprised microsoft didnt make this game a priority. Its good to see theyre coming out with more content for season 4, I just cant see myself getting back into it. if you want halo content the MCC has cool games popping up. There is some incredible modded invasion and infection maps popping up on the browser from time to time.
Big agree with most of this video, but I've got to say. While I also hate battlepasses (I'm a recovering overwatch junkie, that crap just straight up ruined customization), Halo Infinite's implementations is... well, I honestly have very few problems with it. Being able to go back to previous passes, getting enough credits from one pass to buy another, etc. just makes it hard to hate on it.
I saw another video where they explained why infection wouldn't work, and they were 100% right. People only play infection as an alternative, not as their main playlist.
343 should sell halo to this company called Bungie. That made Destiny and Destiny 2 and they were alright but I think they could do good with this franchise
The one consistent issue I have with Infinite, is the lack of splitscreen. Not just campaign splitscreen, but offline multiplayer split screen. Yeah, there's some local splitscreen in custom games, but you can only have one other player with you. I can't play Infinite how I want to: sitting in my living room with friends and family playing 4 player slayer in a offline custom game. That's how I grew up with Halo, and that feels like the definitive Halo experience to me. So yeah, they can add new modes, weapons,maps, and content, they can fine tune the game mechanics as much as they want, but I won't play more than 30 minutes of the new stuff before I stop playing again. Unless they bring back proper split screen(which it feels like they don't care about anymore) I doubt I'll consistently play Infinite. I'll just go to MCC, because they have the splitscreen I wanted, and I can invite friends and family over to play it.
Whole heartedly agree, 343 honestly can't map to save there lives and they need to put in more forge related maps. I also remember back in halo 3, forgers that would make this stuff and make it onto the fileshare page or something got a reward like recon, they should do this again to incentivize forging. And I try not to care about cosmetics but microtransactions are lame af in halo, a lot of stuff is bundled together, or in order to complete a full set you might have to buy 2-3 different bundles. I will say that in fairness the battlepass does give you the equal amount back, meaning buying 1 battlepass pays for all the battlepasses, that's a lot of progression to go through. I think its great there's a career progression, although to players that have already played a while it doesn't really show your true rank so to speak but its good for new players. If they add proximity chat, halo will actually soon return to its former glory.
I don't get it, this game had everything going for it. Great Multiplayer, Great Armor Customization, Great campaign, Older Bungie art design with a new twist, Chiefs armor looking good for the fist time in 12 years. But instead of rolling with the hype and support they mostly gave up, they starved us and all that potential died. They put more effort and content into halo 5 which died a week after launch than a game that had 80,000 active players daily for 2 months.
The one really great thing about the Threat Seeker, is it makes the Bandit Rifle actually look like a useful addition to the sandbox. 😅

The gameplay for this game has been pretty good throughout the game's lifecycle so far, it's just the bugs and crappy maps that really ruin a lot of the fun. It seems like 343 is finally realizing this and putting more remakes/community maps into the game. A game has to be fun on a fundamental level for people to want to play it competitively.

To this day 343 has absolutely no idea what to do with vehicles. In Halo 4 they were mostly invalidated by sprint and only worked on Ragnorok, their remake of Halo 3's Valhalla. In Halo 5 they could only be used to any significant degree in Warzone, a microtransaction fuelled hellscape. And they were pointless anyway because the points in that game mode were based on taking out AI bosses (at least at launch). The day I gave up on Warzone, was when I snuck a tank around the entire map, spent like 2 minutes going Stealth 100, lined myself up behind the enemy team and got like 20 kills. In a normal Halo mode, that genius play would have single handedly won my team the game. In Warzone, it contributed to maybe 2% of all the points accrued by my team, because the points were derived from AI targets that remained in one place so you might as well just use a rocket launcher on them.
In Halo Infinite, every vehicle aside from the Ghost is made of paper and will take 3 seconds of fire from an assault rifle before exploding, and like you said, every single BTB map forces vehicles down narrow channels and give non-vehicle players elevated positions above them. The vehicles can't move anywhere near as much and are EXTREMELY easy targets compared to previous games. So they're utterly useless. Even the splatter physics barely work. And on top of that, if you're attacking a vehicle, it warns the player it's going to explode with an audio timer, so the player just jumps out and you have to fight them twice. 343 has no idea how to do vehicles.

Don't know if you noticed but right when they were talking about the cross-core coatings they mentioned that they were going to be in a single item along with emblems and shoulders, in season 5, that is because of how the game was designed to not support it but hey, at least they are changing it meaning we will get even more items on a single pass

The point of the threat detector was for ranked play. It's a more limited version of the sensor that can bounce around corners and only detects enemies within line-of-sight of where it detonates. It's only point is for ranked balancing.
Cloaks and hazmat suits make perfect sense. Especially in the Halo universe. 343 just don't know what they are doing.
A cloak could be made out a a flexible, heat reflective material. It could be a cabon nanofilament/ceramic crystal titanium fiber or something that would cost tens of millions of dollars to create in reality. Samurai used parachutes to catch arrows aimed at their backs. Cloaks have always been useful.
The standard spartan suit is rated for vacuum, not deep water. In dense atmosphere the seals would corode away with sufficient enough chemical exposure. Specialised, much more expensive equipment for working in a reactor or something makes perfect sense.

I honestly cannot stand 343's games anymore. As a huge halo fan as a kid until the release of infinite, ive never felt more appalled and bewildered to see how the franchise i grew up to and adored for years to the point a good sum of my life was dedicated to it, has fallen so far down a rabbit hole i never even want it to come back.
Halo doesn't even look like halo to me anymore. The charm the old games had has been ripped out and thrown away to a soulless marketing exploit to take as much money as they can from people who call themselves fans of halo.
The fact that it took two years almost to get one gamemode released on day one should show how much Microsoft and 343 care for halo.
All the passion died when bungie left halo in order to create their own soulless project destiny.

I was annoyed at the weapons in team slayer & tactical slayer - but then they added BR's consistently so now I'm happy with that. Then they added Squad battle. Squad battle is god damn awesome. I like the Halo 2 maps. Overall I'm very happy with Halo Infinite.
I hope we can get some Speed halo and Hot Pursuit maps and modes :)

Very well put together video, I want to come back to halo infinite, I stopped playing with season 2 because the devs just didnt seem to care about the game anymore. and Im suprised microsoft didnt make this game a priority. Its good to see theyre coming out with more content for season 4, I just cant see myself getting back into it. It was hard to give the game up but I really feel like It will be a huge letdown if I try going back to it.

if you want halo content the MCC has cool games popping up. There is some incredible modded invasion and infection maps popping up on the browser from time to time.
In season 5 343i said that armour coatings will be under ONE UI slot. So the era of playing for like 15 coatings will be in the past
Big agree with most of this video, but I've got to say. While I also hate battlepasses (I'm a recovering overwatch junkie, that crap just straight up ruined customization), Halo Infinite's implementations is... well, I honestly have very few problems with it. Being able to go back to previous passes, getting enough credits from one pass to buy another, etc. just makes it hard to hate on it.

343 should sell halo to this company called Bungie. That made Destiny and Destiny 2 and they were alright but I think they could do good with this franchise
The one consistent issue I have with Infinite, is the lack of splitscreen. Not just campaign splitscreen, but offline multiplayer split screen. Yeah, there's some local splitscreen in custom games, but you can only have one other player with you. I can't play Infinite how I want to: sitting in my living room with friends and family playing 4 player slayer in a offline custom game. That's how I grew up with Halo, and that feels like the definitive Halo experience to me. So yeah, they can add new modes, weapons,maps, and content, they can fine tune the game mechanics as much as they want, but I won't play more than 30 minutes of the new stuff before I stop playing again. Unless they bring back proper split screen(which it feels like they don't care about anymore) I doubt I'll consistently play Infinite. I'll just go to MCC, because they have the splitscreen I wanted, and I can invite friends and family over to play it.
Whole heartedly agree, 343 honestly can't map to save there lives and they need to put in more forge related maps.
I also remember back in halo 3, forgers that would make this stuff and make it onto the fileshare page or something got a reward like recon, they should do this again to incentivize forging.
And I try not to care about cosmetics but microtransactions are lame af in halo, a lot of stuff is bundled together, or in order to complete a full set you might have to buy 2-3 different bundles.
I will say that in fairness the battlepass does give you the equal amount back, meaning buying 1 battlepass pays for all the battlepasses, that's a lot of progression to go through.
I think its great there's a career progression, although to players that have already played a while it doesn't really show your true rank so to speak but its good for new players.
If they add proximity chat, halo will actually soon return to its former glory.

I don't get it, this game had everything going for it. Great Multiplayer, Great Armor Customization, Great campaign, Older Bungie art design with a new twist, Chiefs armor looking good for the fist time in 12 years. But instead of rolling with the hype and support they mostly gave up, they starved us and all that potential died. They put more effort and content into halo 5 which died a week after launch than a game that had 80,000 active players daily for 2 months.
I do wish that you expanded more upon the item shop, its not totally unexpected that you didn't but there is progress that is notable.
