Gotta love Valve, They make timeless classics that are still popular today that a potato PC can run, even left4dead and half life is on sale for $2 every now and then, they release the steam deck for literally no profit on their end apart from people buying games for it within their store, and with these free to play games its down to the individuals to decide how much they want to give to get a unique skin, they are geniuses not looking to rip someone off but in the process make millions a month doing so.
that’s definitely one of their biggest strengths, that almost anyone with a computer can play their games. very easy to access. really shows that fancy graphics will always lose to amazing game design
I don't think the smoke change will harm the game in the longterm, maybe the players can get frustrated in the beginning with the change, those who have played it have welcomed the change. It is here to stay and it is such an insane feat that the community will come to love it by themselves even if they were to hate it in the beginning.
One thing that makes Counter Strike more fun is that learning the mechanics will reward you a lot. If you learn how to only headshot people(which fps players refuse to do nowadays) you will be rewarded with being a killing machine. You can later bring this skill into other fps games

You touched on it briefly but another overlooked feature of CS is mods and the modding community. SDK's, mods and map creators are a huge factor in making games timeless. Part of the reason why games like warcraft 3 and minecraft have so much longevity is because they also offer endless experiences (through mods) ontop of a game that stands on its own two feet.
I am a proud Valve dick rider and when all my friends make fun of me for playing Team Fortress 2 in 2023 and Counter-Strike instead of Valorant I will always stand proud and defend my decisions. And in all honesty a few months back we had the conversation of Valorant vs CSGO and I told to my friend the EXACT phrase you said in the video. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I simply do not care if the game hasn't been updated in 2 years BECAUSE it is still fun! Very nice video man, you completely speak for me in these "... will never die" videos!
Same, pulled a friend who's been very strongly dick riding every modern title with PC melting graphics into a wonderful adventure through Valve titles like L4D2, CS:GO, Portal 2's coop and TF2 only to see him a week later racking up hours on each one of these.
I like that the skins and maps are made by the community since it involves the community in ways other games can dream of. We vote for our favorites and then they might get into the game. Personally I really like making maps and skins for the game, there is even the possibility to earn money from it. Something that Valorant will never even come close to. The economy of the skins market is really unique and has probably helped the game a lot.
As someone who has played this game since I was around 13 years old (I’m 21 as of posting this), I can say this game has never gotten old to me. The movement is crisp and satisfying to get right and so is the gunplay!! It sucks when people say they don’t enjoy it because it’s hard because they just add to the idea that most modern games hold your hand too much to the point of being insulting. The game requires you to think carefully with your every move and rewards you for good plays instead of just letting you turn your brain off. The games are amazing and are the sole reason I play so many tactical shooters now!! CS2 is gonna take this industry by storm when it officially comes out of beta and into the public’s hands!!
One thing with CS:2 that got overlooked is in one of their trailers they mentioned that modding and mapping will be easier in the new editor. One thing that was overlooked in CS:GO was actual decent modding (Compared to 1.6 & Source). So I feel like community servers will be even more popular and the potential for custom maps will be even higher and I can't wait for what the community will cook up!
The movement can be so diverse in cs. You can be a counter strafing maniac or a kz god pulling off ridiculous jumps and shots. Completely different feel for both.
I love the community made content, I think it has kept the game alive and well for those of us who sink a lot of time in. A lot of content creators are well known by higher level CS players, and to see their stuff get put into the game really makes it feel like OUR game. I will say also for almost 20 years, I have seen the closure of so many FPS games. One of my favorites being A.V.A (Which recently did get a reboot) but it's just not the same. The thing with CS, if you want to go play 1.6 or Source, you still can, they are community driven. (TF2 also is mostly community driven, the valve game that refuses to die). The community keeps this game alive and so long as that remains true even for CS:2 then this game is staying for another decade or more.

Back in source there was no match making, you had to use the server browser and often you'd find a gem. CSGO had some gems for a while but now I can't find anything beyond russian servers claiming to host ever game mode at once. It'd be cool if CS2 got a boost to community servers but I doubt it, especially with the need to compete with games like valorant.

Yet ANOTHER banger in the "Never die" series. I think the new smoke physics are cool and hate for it will mostly be a vocal minority. Some people will be mad for Valve changing anything at all and others will dick ride it without acknowledging any cons it has, but only time can really tell. Despite that, CS:2 has already made improvements that everyone will love regardless, so theres no doubt this may have even more longevity than CS could ever have. Tl;dr: Smoke cool game good.
honestly i’m really excited about all the new changes and quality of life updates! i heard from someone that CSGO’s original game code is a mess, so they made CS2 from the ground up to make future development easier. i hope this is the start of a new Valve wave!
all I ever care about in these kinds of games is 2 things: - does it turn a mid-range PC into a nuclear oven - can you have casual fun with the homies that you totally have and not sweat your balls off over virtual rankings and _The Meta_ of the game
I only have 17 hours on CS, and somehow, I was MVP 5 times, in a match. I guess it's from the experience from source games life Tf2, but I doubt that. Can't wait for SC:2! And I can't wait for the next Kelski video, of course!
Will say that there have actually been 2 guns added to CS:GO, the MP5-SD and Revolver, so I guess there have been a few """big""" changes. The revolver was definitely controversial when it was released due to poor balancing, but it got nerfed and now everything is basically the same. Video is great, and the weapons added don't really invalidate anything said. Keep up the great work!
@@raizenxdd usp-s and M4a1-s were in previous games, just took a while to be added. The CZ75 i completely forgot about, but yeah that is also a new addition, ty for reminding me.
The smoke changes I feel people will hate but it will over time be welcomed as people get used to it. I see it not as valve adding a random mechanic, I see them trying to change the game and make something fresh without ruining it. This is the biggest leap they have taken in a while but I feel it is a necessary one to keep CS Alive. I personally can't wait to see the new smokes and graphics change how Comp CS is played.
Started playing CSGO day 1 back in Hs, long story short, I stopped playing until this year and man it holds up still. Nothing will beat this FPS imo.. so excited for CS2
Banger video! I love play Counter Strike: source, but I can recognize how influential csgo is. But I gotta ask, will you be doing videos on other valve games? Ex: Half-life series?
Also Valve games are absolute gigachads, except of course (Artifacts but we do not talk about it here) there is always an option to just go nuts and have fun or be ultra serious in your own way.
@@kel_ski technically half life is a story game and cannot die really but sure if you do mind as well talk about portal and why both games affected the gaming community
The one thing I don't like is that CS2 is permanently replacing CSGO. I have a lot of fond memories with CSGO and would really like to be able to still play it as it is. I still play 1.6 and Source occasionally for the nostalgia, idk why CSGO has to go.
Games nowadays update too fast. Coming back to valorant after a few months you get new maps, heroes and a bunch of shit that totally changes the gsme. Its impossible to master. Imagine if chess got frequent updates.
Have to disagree about new smokes being controversial. The new smokes being volumetric, gives newbs more margin for error when making accurate throws and also prevents one-ways. This is a net positive for the game and community.
i have actually seen quite a few people complaining already that smokes being noob friendly now is a bad thing lol some people will complain about anything

smart move that the smokes are the major thing they updated cause actual casual player never uses them so there's like 50% of the player base that wont really be affected by that
I’ve never seen someone make a video essay on how good cs is while being so shit at the game. I mean, I completely forgot that you can casually enjoy this game without being a 3k hour virgin global like me. Great video man.
Valve has made so many legendary games it is crazy. If you look at sales and current players, titles they have touched take up like 60 percent of the slots. If only they could count to 3...
as much as I agree that slow movement and forcing the player to stop moving for a perfect accuracy shot is good, there's something incredible about outmanoeuvring a player in a game like Titanfall 2 with tons of movement mechanics. personally, though, I prefer games more in the middle rather than super slow/fast movement. I found one game that was the perfect speed for me, where it has running, sliding, crouching, etc but it's not extremely fast, so jump shots and drop shots are still more critical in movement than shit like double jumping and wall-running. it also has a few movement exploits that take a while to get used to but are still fun to use for your advantage in positioning and taking the opponent by surprise. tldr: I personally prefer games which have a bit of movement but aren't entirely focused around it and instead allow the player to use it more for positioning than in combat.
Another important aspect to mention is that CS:GO has a large thriving gaming community with plenty of available public servers hosted by the very community, compared to Valorant or any other shooter game really. Even CS 1.6, a 20 year old game, still gets tens of thousands of active players on a daily basis. And back when CS:GO was in its beta stages, it was far from polished and for many people, it wasn't looking promising. Even if some of those people are not necessarily happy about the changes implemented on CS2, they will learn to adapt and Valve will probably improve the mechanics drastically for the game over time. The thing I am most worried about, however, is the overall improvement of the graphics. Many people probably play on the older computers to begin with and CS isn't a game where a significant FPS drop would be convenient or satisfactory for the player, seeing how it is a highly precision-based shooter. But hopefully it will be polished enough to support smooth gameplay for various kinds of people.
oh hell yeah, the last clip from cs2 trailer music was banger. i've been replaying it a lot, and hoping they will be included in cs2. *the music also has the same beat as csgo.
although i have played several FPS games, it's mostly been niche singleplayer or co-op ones (and only recently did i play some big triple A titles - Titanfall 2, Halo, Borderlands, etc) but i never knew what a "hitmarker" was until maybe a year-*ish* ago? honestly the same for most other things lmao. Got into YT in 2014 but didn't know what a pewdiepie was until several years after the fact, didn't know Call of Duty existed until a few years after i got into gaming, etc.

Tl;dr: Smoke cool game good.
honestly i’m really excited about all the new changes and quality of life updates! i heard from someone that CSGO’s original game code is a mess, so they made CS2 from the ground up to make future development easier.
i hope this is the start of a new Valve wave!
all I ever care about in these kinds of games is 2 things:
- does it turn a mid-range PC into a nuclear oven
- can you have casual fun with the homies that you totally have and not sweat your balls off over virtual rankings and _The Meta_ of the game
@@simplysmiley4670 it's a valve game
So you can prolly run it on your oven
on one hand, one way smokes are gone... on the other hand, ONE WAY SMOKES ARE GONE!!!!
W new Kelski video, but when is Valve gonna hook our man up with a game code!?!?!?!?!?
W fletch, bouta go to their offices and ask for one myself 😤
I only have 17 hours on CS, and somehow, I was MVP 5 times, in a match. I guess it's from the experience from source games life Tf2, but I doubt that. Can't wait for SC:2! And I can't wait for the next Kelski video, of course!
StarCraft 2 is already out bro.
@@SalveASMR What. I meant Counter Strike 2. Not Star Craft 2. (Although I love that game.)
Well, TF2 is probably one of the hardest game to master. I guess if you're good at TF2, you're good in any fps
@@gungrave10 I play tf2 a lot. But i suck at it. Soooo…
0:30 bro fempyro in the vid🗣🗣
Cs started as a community mod so I can safely say we still give the game content rather than valve pushing content
the community efforts are simply unmatched
Good work! Great editing, really good memes, top-tier scripting. Subscribed!
M4a1-s, usp-s and cz75 were added
@@raizenxdd usp-s and M4a1-s were in previous games, just took a while to be added. The CZ75 i completely forgot about, but yeah that is also a new addition, ty for reminding me.
TF2, CS, Portal and L4D never dies...
Valve is just built different
@@kel_ski
Hahaha, true.
Dota2 has left the chat...
Thankyou mr kelski, top tier gamer bro
it’s my pleasure brotha
Started playing CSGO day 1 back in Hs, long story short, I stopped playing until this year and man it holds up still. Nothing will beat this FPS imo.. so excited for CS2
Your my favourite youtuber, keep grinding, i love your content
i’m honored to have that title 😎
I got a cs:go ad watching this video
Banger video! I love play Counter Strike: source, but I can recognize how influential csgo is. But I gotta ask, will you be doing videos on other valve games? Ex: Half-life series?
thanks for the compliment! i’ll definitely cover the other valve games in the future 👀
Also Valve games are absolute gigachads, except of course (Artifacts but we do not talk about it here) there is always an option to just go nuts and have fun or be ultra serious in your own way.
the range of experiences their games offer is beautiful
God dame you kelski now i want to give CS-GO another shot so i dont regret deleting it
LOL, ladies and gentlemen, we gottem 😎
This vid has made my day
and the day is just beginning
Another certified W video from Kelski
gotta do it for THE BOYS 🤝
Everything about this game is close to Perfect
found me and my friends in the vid at 6:01 lol
For higher ranks many will love the new smoke because of one-way smokes in csgo. You can literally learn 10 one-way smoke and easily rank up
He did it tf2 l4d now csgo the perfect trio
time to add in Half Life to make it the perfect quad
@@kel_ski technically half life is a story game and cannot die really but sure if you do mind as well talk about portal and why both games affected the gaming community
Killer video, man. I laughed my ass off MULTIPLE times. To me, that equals quality content. Keep em’ comin!
happy to hear that king 👑 plenty more on the way!

CSGO Enemy Back Flip > Valulrant Kill Notif
BASED
It was in 2009, a beautiful CS1.6 LAN party with my friends.
Kelski back at it again with another banger
thanks for coming back to watch king 👑
The one thing I don't like is that CS2 is permanently replacing CSGO. I have a lot of fond memories with CSGO and would really like to be able to still play it as it is. I still play 1.6 and Source occasionally for the nostalgia, idk why CSGO has to go.
Great video! Getting close to 50k. Also, the only valve games you have left are half-life and portal.
Just sayin’……
dont forget the classic game Ricochet
50k mark for sure coming up! those may be on my radar 👀
@@suhfee damn you’re right how could I forget the best competitive game of all time
Hitmarkers in some games are necessary because there is no big feedback from the playermodel or not enough blood to understand that you hit someone.
Games nowadays update too fast. Coming back to valorant after a few months you get new maps, heroes and a bunch of shit that totally changes the gsme. Its impossible to master.
Imagine if chess got frequent updates.
Tossing smoke
FIRE IN THE HOLE
Have to disagree about new smokes being controversial. The new smokes being volumetric, gives newbs more margin for error when making accurate throws and also prevents one-ways. This is a net positive for the game and community.
i have actually seen quite a few people complaining already that smokes being noob friendly now is a bad thing lol
some people will complain about anything
I've played a fair bit of CSGO recently, but honestly I got into Hardcore S&D on MW2 and am having a blast
Well.... That didn't age well
1 million players now
Just because you don't play the game doesn't mean it's dead. The world doesn't revolve around you.
@@kingboy60007 What did I do to you bud no need to get hostile
@@ripcord4201 you forced my hand
It really DID age well
immaculate vid as always, your future is lookin bright brother!
thank you my man 🤝 only up from here! so much more planned!
This didn't aged so well
CS2 is the most played game on steam. Has remained like this for months. Even years.
"If you die, this is 100% your fault"
Me remembering watching how proffesionals play this game, they litteraly stay still aiming for head, but World Of Tanks level of random spread misses all shots.
This video didnt age very well..
Except it did because the game is still ridiculously massive.
@@Alphawolf-d2k Yes, it is massive. But i was refering simply to the issues of the game and the little amount of content we've gotten since release. Those are the points of his that didnt age well
@@DKWreckers Yeah I do agree. But now we might be getting new maps, a bunch of cheating / ping issues fixed from valve being back and more…
@@DKWreckers also I can almost guarantee cs2 will be better or on par with csgo in time
@@Alphawolf-d2k I have played CS for over 10000 hours, i love the game to death and i always come back. The issues will be fixed.. I know for sure.. Yea
TF2: anyone can play
CS: anyone can compete
This video didnt aged so good
Lightening awp sound was goated
it activates all the neurons
this didn’t ade well..
For me
Its knowing i can always stop forawhile and come back without relearning so much with new updates, new weapons etc.
Its simple but skills ❤❤
Also yes love its clean . No signs or over the top sound when getting a kill.
More focus on playing.
awsome video. btw loved the part where you played valorant. when gambling stream?? (csgo case)
i used AI generation for that clip, i would never play Valorant 🫣
Bro your editing & analysis was top tier 😂💪 earned a sub thank you for the laugh. Valve locked my account for sharing a “sus link” when I posted my twitch link in a community comment section.
honestly as long as there's no running or ads, idc they can put a portal gun in the CS, we will all still learn how to be sweaty and one shot with it
2:45 Hey there now this was a whoelsome moment xD
smart move that the smokes are the major thing they updated cause actual casual player never uses them so there's like 50% of the player base that wont really be affected by that
I’ve never seen someone make a video essay on how good cs is while being so shit at the game.
Damn 2 vids a week between each other, Kelski has not slept in days
i have not seen my bed in 72 hours
Ayeeee Kelski great vid man
thanks brotha!
Finally, someone who appreciates CS2 OST! I hope it comes out as music kit in game!
Csgo's movement is directly related to quake so it feels SO MUCH nicer than its competitors its not even close
oh hell yeah, the last clip from cs2 trailer music was banger. i've been replaying it a lot, and hoping they will be included in cs2.
*the music also has the same beat as csgo.
the wilder part is valve didn't even make CS to begin with, it started as a community mod & they just ran with it
i think it’s insanely interesting that both CS and TF2 started off as mods
Let’s goooooo CS video
hope you enjoyed it 😎
The only people hating the new smokes are people who abuse how the smokes in the current cs go doesnt show exactly 100% as is for both players.
Thought the grave stones were a N64 cartridge
Hope this video will age well
You earned yourself a new sub, good video :)
thank you for the sub! glad you enjoyed 🤝
although i have played several FPS games, it's mostly been niche singleplayer or co-op ones (and only recently did i play some big triple A titles - Titanfall 2, Halo, Borderlands, etc) but i never knew what a "hitmarker" was until maybe a year-*ish* ago?
honestly the same for most other things lmao. Got into YT in 2014 but didn't know what a pewdiepie was until several years after the fact, didn't know Call of Duty existed until a few years after i got into gaming, etc.
Next up: Portal will never die
