It is very refreshing to hear our island spoken about in a positive light. I believe sometimes because of the many struggles we are faced with on a daily basic we forget how blessed we truly are as a twin island republic.

People its a wonderful country to come and visit. GREAT FOOD, BEACHES, SITES and liming (hangout) spots. Crime maybe on the rise but still safe enough for visitors. The leaders in the country are the worst but the people are great and friendly.
I would advise anyone to go to Trinidad and Tobago. You would have a great experience.

@@lxrdvader2021 Jamaica 🇯🇲 has the highest crime rate of any Caribbean nation but millions still visit there each year ,so what makes TNT that different? If you mind your own business,as a tourist one will have a great stay …there is crime everywhere you go.

I just came from a video on Jamaica and all the Jamaicans in the comment section just spreading national pride and positivity not harping about their social and economic issues which are MANY. Jamaican tourism is BOOMING despite their issues because they understand, time and PLACE for everything.
Trinis or rather "certain" Trinis love to bad mouth their country on every given international forum. They come on videos we all feel pride in to spread negativity. They come on videos where Trinbagonians are receiving international awards or praise to spread negativity. They come on videos where cultural or food or history explorers are having a wonderful time in our country, just to bad talk Trinidad and Tobago. I have even seen videos of travel vloggers who have come to Trinidad and Tobago from the USA, UK, Canada, Germany and Denmark and had a WONDERFUL time and these "certain" Trinis will still come into the comment sections to bad talk our country and tell people not to come here.
The time and place for plain talk about our problems are the op-eds in our local newspapers, call-in programs on the radio, the town halls and community gatherings, the schools, and especially face-to-face with the politicians and businessmen responsible for social and economic policies that are failing the country. Talk with your vote and your dollars. Volunteer in your community. Start an NGO.
But when we are shining on the world stage and being praised and elevated as a nation, just hush nah. Let some light and positivity shine unblemished for ONCE!

I was scratching my head too. I guess a blend of 6 could possibly be a mixture of African, Asian (Chinese) , Caucasian, South East Asian (East Indian), Syrian and Taino/Kalinago.

In the past (possibly pre-2000's) masqueraders only wore part of the costume on Monday and the full regalia on Tuesday. Wearing the whole costume on Monday and Tuesday would be unsanitary (especially the bodysuit/bikini bottoms) due to the accumulated sweat, bacteria, dust etc. So Monday wear emerged as an option. Also, the common shabbily mass produced costumes constructed now can't last two days of wear.

It was very disingenuous of the minister to tell the world that Trinidad & Tobago doesn’t have national dishes. I was born in Trinidad and schooled in Trinidad and I was thought by the educational system that the national dishes of Trinidad is “Coo Coo , crabs in Calaloo and pigeon pies pelau. I was also taught that Tobago’s national dishes is “ Crab curried with cassava dumplings and Coconut bakes with buljol. I noticed that there’s a trend with certain Trinidadians to implement as the national dishes “ street foods “ in which are not considered balanced diets. The country must keep its national dishes apart from traditional street foods. Thank you!

@@SexyBeautifulBabe mainly due to the fact that when it comes to Trinidad and Tobago entertainment it mainly comes from the Afro Trinidadians carnival, Calypso, Soca, Steel Drums and lots more, the Indo Trinidadians are mainly known for the food.
