I am so done with this. This country can burn. For months, years I tried to warn Canada this event was coming. I was ignored. Gov spent all year lying about this. Canadians don't want to get off their butt's to help Canada and expect foreign firefighters to fight the fire.

The idea is that if that land is already burned then when the fire gets there, there’s nothing left to burn and it stops the fire in its tracks. With wind, hot days and potential lightning strikes the fire can strengthen and human efforts to contain this beast will be futile.
I Am in east Kelowna and have a clear view of the west. It’s horrifying and almost apocalyptic. Fires have began to reach the east and are beginning to engulf entire neighbourhoods. Everyone stay safe.

I am watching this west kelowna fire burn as I type. My cousin has been forced to evacuate the farm that his father had built from scratch before passing away.(keep in mind he is currently 13) he and his mother have been living in this house their whole life. But my cousin is determined to protect the property at all cost👍

In times where humanity should unite and work together. The US is pushing for another cold war with China. At least China is pushing for the end of internal combustion engines in their country. If China and US worked together. Newer technology could come out, but we love using tech that pollutes the planet.
Fossil fuel companies control our governments and refuse to move off them. They wont realize the error of their ways until they start dying from hurricanes on their mega yacht or freeze to death in their mansion due to a failing electric grid. But at that point, it will be too late. Those extreme weather scenarios will be regular. Our planet will be like others in our solar systems. Too dangerous for life to exist.

Maybe we ought to consider creating "moats" of clearcut zones surrounding settlements that are at risk of annual fires. It should be minimal cost to implement if you just let lumber companies in to cut and profit from the lumber. A firebreak would go a long way in saving towns like these.

The sky was clear of clouds and absolutely no smoke. Approximately 24 hours later on Friday I got another emergency alert on my phone for a fire in OLD STRATHCONA AREA. This time there was a fire. HOW CAN AN EMERGENCY ALERT PREDICT A FIRE 24 HOURS IN THE FUTURE? It can't, ONE EXPLANATION FOR ALL OF THESE UNPRECEDENTED FIRE IS ARSON AND EXPLAINS HOW EMERGENCY ALERT ON MY PHONE PREDICTS FIRES IN THE FUTURE. WE HAVE NEVER HAD SO MANY FIRES EVER BEFORE AND I PREDICT THIS WILL BE USED TO FULFILL A POLITICAL AGENDA, GLOBAL WARMING, CARBON TAX, VIOLATIONS OF YOUR RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS.

Spot fires. Same thing happened when embers jumped the river in Fort Mac back in 2016.
Guaranteed most of these fires are being caused by reckless and irresponsible human behaviour, whether it's camping, or idiots throwing cigarette butts out their car windows as they drive.
It doesn't take much to ignite infernos in dry summer conditions.
This is a disgrace.
New federal laws and criminal charges are urgently needed across the board.
Outdoor recreational camping activities should be restricted to only designated areas that have nearby access to civil water infrastructure that would assist crews in extinguishing such blazes quickly before they get out of control.
Anyone caught throwing cigarette butts out their car windows or camping outside designated areas should be charged and sent straight to prison.

More unfortunate is the blind who don’t see this as a man made climate change issue and rather as a careless smoking problem or wilderness campers as the cause and want to keep driving their V 8 to work alone every day....!

My heart goes out to the people in the NWT and BC (where I am) who are facing the effects of the fires. However, it's concerning that many continue to drive gas-guzzling trucks while eating beef burgers, without realizing how these actions cause droughts, worsen fires, change weather patterns, and contribute to climate change. Instead of offering 'thoughts and prayers', let's be proactive and make small changes in our lives that can truly make a difference in preventing future catastrophic events like these.
