Questions to be answered in the Maui Conflagration: 1. Why were the alarm systems and emergency sirens not activated? 2. Where were the local government officials (the Governor, State officials, Mayors, council members, fire chiefs, police chiefs, emergency services staff) not around to coordinate strategies to control the fires or help residents evacuate to safer grounds? 3. Why were the entrance to and egress from Lahaina apparently closed during the conflagration? 4. If the US military has reportedly around 11 bases in Hawaii, including 2 Coast Guard bases, why were they not asked to assist in putting away the fire and/or assisting in evacuating the people to safer grounds or on board their ships or helicopters? 5. Why were FEMA personnel and police officers reportedly prevented people from safer grounds in Maui bringing in emergency supplies (food, groceries, blankets, clothes, and other basic necessities) for victims of the conflagration the following days? 6. There were reports that a few weeks before this conflagration happened, there were apparently a significant number of property owners that were approached by real estate and/or insurance people offering to buy their properties, which were refused by said property owners. 7. There were also reports that big real estate investors and developers had meetings with State & Local government officials about the possibility of building “Smart Cities” in Maui, and Lahaina in particular. Was the conflagration, which the State Governor quickly blamed on “climate change”, the quickest way to force the hapless homeowners, who inherited their properties from generation to generation, to sell their properties at a BARGAIN? We need answers to these questions that require intensive investigation by both State and Federal Authorities. There could be serious crimes committed here.

A cop on Front St was ordered to stop those cars from driving out escaping, tourists were on that road in their cars some locals took other back streets but no cars could get out

I'm Australian and my heart goes out to the victims of this tragedy! (May they RIP.) We know all to well how serious wildfires can be! May God watch over all those effected!
The 'relevance ' I'd say, is that as a fellow Aussie, we live in a country where every summer represents this exact risk pretty much across the entire country..blistering seemingly endless heatwaves ..many of us have family who have survived bushfires, had family who have fought them or have gone through them themselves...wouldn't wish this horror on another living soul ..
For the guy who resigned, it's a little too late. To the two boat Captains, you are hero's and full of empathy! You should take the first guy's job. My deepest thoughts and sympathy are with you. Keep your land for it is yours
It was set on purpose so celebrities can buy the land from the locals who didn't want to sell, Funny how all the celebrities who own land on that island property didn't get touched.. The Elite want to change it into a utopia only for the wealthy the they burned them out. Like they did with the native Indians
Keep that land, don’t sell. Live in a tent on your property if you have to. Be braver than you’ve ever had to be. Don’t allow the Globalists to do this to you.
Growing up in Hawaii I was taught that the emergency sirens meant a tsunami was coming. The local government repurposed the use of sirens for a general disaster warning. However they failed to inform & educate the public of this change on how they would be using the sirens. The decision to not activate the sirens & educate the public prior to this disaster is probably the biggest blunder on Hawaii's local government
Herman implying that they people would be so stupid to run towards a wall of fire if they activated the sirens is just kicking the people when they are down. Then the icing on the cake is him admitting he didn't regret not activating the sirens. What an idiot!
I understand why the sirens did not sound. We have grown up knowing the sirens mean to run mauka. The power not being turned off, or people evacuated when the high winds were forecasted and brush fires were happening. The water pressure was another failure. I believe in Aloha for all those involved including the leaders who were not prepared nor did anyone ever imagine this possible.
Liar. You think we don’t know what’s going on? How convenient they have video of sparks starting the fire and nothing else. What’s the true body count? Nothin but lies Demons.
Your own government murdered your people. "Silent War" has been waged. Several Locals claim City Police detouring highways to Front Str. to blockade. Life is not sunshine and roses.
Ya but if the alarms went off people would come outside and see smoke. Not be caught blind while setting in their house. Don't believe their excuses. Think damnit
These poor families, the community and those who were sadly lost are in my prayers. The saddest part is that these people are no longer in anyone’s thoughts because they get to go one with their lives and have a home and pillow to rest their heads on before falling asleep for the night peacefully, while thousands of people can’t 😢 It’s sad and heartbreaking how we live in a society that is beyond selfish and self centered 😢 Dear Jesus, I pray that at some time very soon, we could live in a better World 🙏
My heart aches for the people of Maui. You can just feel the love and compassion they have for their community. Such a tragedy and it's hard not to feel angry with them at the lack of support they've received. People go to Hawaii for once in a lifetime experiences so it's a shame that not more is done to help our people. To the people of Maui, our thoughts and prayers are with you!
No sirens, no water, high winds hurricane was 500 miles away. Police and pole trucks blocked roads police re routed people into the fire. It looks like Baghdad when a bomb went off! The state officials on Oahu for a fema conference. No remorse! The government is not coming to help you ever! They are there to steal the land. You must sign over property for help $700. Missing children 800. 184 dead bodies washed ashore to Lanai. They are not reporting the correct numbers. No power, phone service or water in area 3 weeks later. Smart devices and smart meters have lithium batteries and cause explosions. Blue items didn’t burn including Oprah’s house.
This is so heartbreaking. There is just nothing anybody can say to make it any better. Seeing all of those people in the water is so awful. Every single person who tried to help, who took their boats to rescue people from the water, is a hero. I hope they know that. I just can’t believe that the fire spread so fast and destroyed so much. It’s awful.
I was there in the 80s and they were the most wonderfully kind and genuine people I have ever met, I pray for the families that have lost everything that they are safe, This is such an awful disaster and there was so many mistakes made, How angry I am hearing him say he doesn't regret sounding the alarms, and weakly he retires saying it's for health reasons, At least he's alive, shame on them, trapped families, you can't imagine the fear these poor people felt, I hope the Government are going to now help these homeless people.,this should never have gotten to this stage. God Bless you all, My prayers are with you all.❤🙏😭
Disturbingly, Governor Josh Green is in cahoots to force property owners off their land. Then allow predatory investors and developers to acquire that land.
The Govenor ,the fire chief ,the president, the electricity crew ,the water authority all will be severely dealt with by God . They might run but they would not be able to hide . They will be destroyed forever.

I agree. Meetings need to be held, nationwide, using this fire in Lahaina, Hi and Paradise, CA. as examples of how intense and rapid fire spreads causing devastating conditions. Survivalist would be impressed with these 🎉survivors of Maui.
Was nothing learned from the California fires? All fire authorities should be required to go to conferences each year to learn from experienced people how to handle these situations properly.
You would think city disaster planners would read after action reports to learn. Calif power companies have been sued for not shutting down power during Santa Anna’s. So now it’s expected to have power shut off. All power companies should follow this plan or bury lines under ground. It’s lessons learned in blood.
To be fair Hawaii infrastructure is old. It’s not gonna be cheap to upgrade and rates are gonna go up. And utility users never want a price rate increase even to prevent future issues. Maybe today people’s minds will change.
@@PaiadakineThat may be true, but these people were incinerated. It's a whole different situation than what's been reported. Just look at the images of the grayish white ash. That's too hot a burn for a wildfire. Look at the molten glass and metal, and the standing wood trees. Doesn't that strike you as odd?
@scottdorsey: So was the Paradise Camp Fire disaster. People were incinerated; white ash everywhere; molten glass/metal from cars etc. There were Firenadoes! So. This HAS happened before. Winds from Hurricane Dora exacerbated the whole thing times 10 at least.
The guy who said there were no alarms to warn the people also said the government could have done better. So sad. Those people didn't have to die and someone needs to be accountable for failing them.
You'd think in our day, the sirens could also have different tones for different type of disasters. Or one tone means go uphill the other means go to the shore, another for shelter in place. Something like that.
There should have been more than one person responsible for the sirens. He’ll have to live with that mistaken choice all his life. Ditto for the electric co personnel who chose not to turn off the power. Tragedy beyond words.
He still thinks he's right to have not sounded it. I can slightly understand how people would think it's a tsunami and go inland however most people would see that going inland was going into a fire storm.
I heard they didn’t because the only times they use sirens are for tsunami warnings. …which would drive everyone to high land…. directly INTO the fire. They thought it would cause much more casualties than not.
This brings back nightmares of the Camp Fire in our county in Paradise, Ca in 2018. Almost 90 people dead and 20,000 homes/buildings destroyed and burnt to the ground. Only one main road in and out. My heart truly goes out to these people. Tears running down my face right now.
@broomstickcowgirl. up. The Paradise fire was caused by DEW. Direct energy lasers. 5 years ago. This is all WEAPONIZED WEATHER. Sorry you went through that but I would think u would know by now that these fires are all intentionally caused by our controllers. Aftermath looks nuked. Maui fires are caused by same DEW.
I am so sad for the survivors, they are pushed to see what's left, to pick up their lives from the ashes, to set aside the memories and go forward, unable to hold back the tears. Prayers for these survivors will not be enough.
“Everyone was covered in soot”…….Absolutely heart wrenching. Anybody here ever heard of “wild” fires occurring in a city? Aren’t they usually in the “wild”……hence the term wildfires? Nothing about this situation seems like a “natural” disaster. I’ve never seen anything like this event in my whole life, and trust me, I’m not young (kills me to admit that out loud.). Apocalyptic.
Yes you are correct. Experts have been warning people for years that climate change is going to cause things like this but people still refuse to accept that it's true. It's happening. Not only in Hawaii. All over. California is experiencing their first hurricane in a long time. This isn't a coincidence.
Yes. The Marshall Fire in Colorado December 30, 2021 was also a grass fire that destroyed 1,084 homes, many businesses including a Tesla Service Center and the hotel, The Element. Our fire was stopped by snow. No sirens used because they said we would run to our basements hearing them. 20% got evacuation notices. Over a thousand pets lost. Only lost two people in the fire. Only 20 percent got evacuation notices, but we never lost the internet. Also many were at work or on vacation.
This man’s hurt is felt through the screen… I am crying with you bless all of you all and I hope you can eventually (should’ve been right away) Get the help you need from the government.
For decades, Maui residents have been fighting to preserve this ancient seat of the kingdom of Hawaii. Just last month, the Hawaiian government passed a law that the Lahaina historical area could not be redistricted for any more development of hotels and such businesses, unless a natural disaster occurred. What are the odds..?
This shows how many people are victims when there is a tragedy like this. Yes, you hear about the people who lose their lives and that’s awful and the ultimate loss, but for every life loss there are hundreds more affected by fires, shootings, etc. It is so important for the people affected to get the help they need not only physically, like replacing homes, but mentally. My mother was a survivor of a workplace shooting in the 80s. She survived that day only to be killed slowly the next 15 years until the PTSD from that day finally claimed her. You won’t see her name on a list of victims anywhere, but if that shooting didn’t happen I would still have a mom, of that I’m sure.
Californian here, people greatly underestimate how fast a wildfire spreads. The decisions that led to this disaster were years, even decades in the making, it's obvious there was no plan. Insane that they didn't turn on the outdoor alarms because they thought people would be too stupid to run away from the fire.
I think everyone on that island was informed their entire lives that the siren system = tsunami. If siren = tsunami then they head inland for hills/high ground. That would be exactly the wrong thing to do. Many people seemed to have survived by wading in the ocean along the shoreline, which fewer people would've done if they thought a tsunami was coming. Stupidity has nothing to do with it, and if you see smoke then you don't need an alarm to understand there is fire.
To be fair california government might have done the same thing, The head official said water was sacred and needed to be conserved. The same way Califorinia leadership leaves dead trees (forest fire fuel) in the forest because they don't want people cutting down trees, environmentalists cause environmental damage.
😢💔 This breaks my heart! Im crying while posting this! I recently got a chance to go to Hawaii this past February with my two daughters and future son-in-law (he actually proposed to her there and it was the purpose of the trip). I never thought I would go to Hawaii. It was the most wonderful, magical, beautiful trip!! We visited four of the islands and met some amazing people there!! One, I'm still sort of in contact with! We did get a chance to visit this area and parked on that Front Street to go look at and take pictures of the Banyan tree!! My heart and soul really connected with these islands, so to see this horrible tragedy affects me more, than if I never had gone there. Kinda like meeting and growing to like a good friend, then something tragic happens to them!! Prayers and love ❤ to all in that area!!
I think they're sincerely just trying to tell their story of what's happening. This tragedy has affected so many people. The Aloha spirit from Hawaii still remains strong!
I just watched a interview with a elderly gentleman named Fish, he was shopping at the Safeway and began to walk telling people to get out. He said he was walking beside the people waiting in their cars to leave, he couldn’t figure out why they weren’t moving. When he got to the front of all the cars there was a police man, he told him to let them leave the fire was already at the Safeway. Cop said he couldn’t, he was just following orders, old guy said he started hearing cars explode, cop wouldn’t let them through.
These two captains will be traumatized for a long time to come. That one guy can barely get his words out. It is so tragic, and devastating to see the aftermath of fire. God bless Lahaina & all its victims & all Hawaiians
The beautiful maui. All the vegetation and the loss of homes, stores and so many lives gone. My brother lives there and I feared hed play a hero but God watched over them so I thank God. We as a church prayed for the people that lost so much. Its so sad.
I went through a storm in South Florida. A tree fell on the roof of our house. We decided to escape but there was trees blocking the roads and power lines as well. It was a very scary experience so I can somehow relate to these poor people trapped in an inferno. And those who survived hearing the screams of desperation of those who did not make it.
Same here. Palm Beach County.... Live wires were down everywhere after Irma, but it was too dangerous to stay in the house as well. I never did see any emergency officials.
I mean, I live in Port Charlotte and so we were just hit dead on by hurricane Ian. I don’t consider this situation anywhere near the same as a hurricane because we had a week to make a move. We had plenty of warning and we listened to those who knew best and evacuated to safety. The people in this fire had no warning and were blindsided.
Sirens are _primarily_ for tsunamis, but they for other things as well... like fires. I think the average person would have put two and two together and evacuated _away from_ the fire. The idea someone would walk _into_ a fire cuz they misunderstood what the siren was for is absurd.
NO - you are DEAD WRONG on the siren use. When the people hear a tsunami siren, do you know what they are instructed to do? Run like hell for the high ground towards the hills. Do you know where the wildfires were coming from? The hills, and going towards the people.
@eskieman3948 I'm sure they would have seen said fire coming down the hill, it was also nighttime and would have been clearly seen! It's the government's fault for not telling the public that they had changed the sirens purpose to indicate an emergency, not just a Tsunami.
I’m crying watching this segment. My cousin Melva May Benjamin perished in this horrendous fire and was one of the first to be identified. My mother and I grieve wondering her last moments…fear, panic…her life partner Ed Sato has not been found.😢
As a Hawaii resident, we pay taxes for these agencies to operate and have a plan to protect us. This is like living in the 1600’s without power or working fire hydrants. Hawaii wants a refund. We are all realizing that our local government has no idea how to govern and run a state or its infrastructure. Public safety is not their priority.
@@valutoomalatai2320Governor of Hawaii, Josh Green is in cahoots to boot out Maui property owners to enable predatory investors and developers to acquire Maui land.
WHY did a primary water pumping station not have a battery or power backup system to allow them to run in the case of a fire damaging the grid. THAT IS A CRIMINAL ABUSE
Head of emergency management saying he doesn’t regret not sounding the alarms is a slap in the face to everyone affected by this tragedy, he needs to be held accountable, higher ups make mistakes and always get let go with a slap on the wrist and paid vacation time.

May God Bless all the heros who worked so hard to help those trapped. May Father God be with you and bring comfort.
This is insanity in a first world country. All these people children and animals burned alive! They had absolutely no warning, until it was at their back doors.... It's beyond devastating. Their are no words to describe the immense destruction to Maui and the people. Shame on all the Maui officials, for not warning the people and sounding the sirens, and turning those trying to flee, back towards the inferno 😭
It's been going on for ages. I've been studying WW1 intensely during the last couple of years, the elite have always been sacrificing their slaves. Sending soldiers into battles with absolutely no gain to be expected whatsoever, on both sides. Google Battle of the Somme. Casualities of 60000, 20000 dead, the first day alone, on the british side....imagine....A human life counts nothing in the eyes of the so called "leaders". People keep wondering how in Nazi Germany, the entire population could blindly follow Hitler, even when things had already turned very bad for everyone. But today, people still support a system that doesnt give a damn about them. Covid, another example of the complacency of the average citizen who is either too dumb or too lazy to make an informed decision. This will go on if people don't finish this elite off. Which will not be possible by the means of politics and debate.
This breaks my heart 💔!!! This is going to take a very long time to recover from the fire ❤️🩹 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 may God watch over all of those that have lost love ones! 💜
The response to this tragedy, as follows any disaster - whether natural or man-made - is indicative of the compassion and empathy, most humans display toward those in need. Our society tells us that money, prestige, and power, are what should make for a 'happy' populace, but when it comes down to basic, common, heart-felt meaning; 'happiness' is truly found in helping others. I'm sure the cause of this horrendous fire, who or what is to blame (which was probably a combination of factors), will be found in the days and weeks to follow. But beyond the deep sorrow felt by those who lost friends, families, and homes, or who witnessed the horrors - I find the instinctive reaction in those who rush to help a stranger, even at their own risk, to be 'heroes' in the truest, most human sense.
Thank you so much for this coverage. They all deserve help that does not permanently displace them. We are praying. Those in power do that right thing. DO NOT LET EVIL, HORROR OF THIS DAY PREVAIL.. Aloha.

Questions to be answered in the Maui Conflagration:
The local government should be held liable for this. No rescue effort whatsoever? Wtf.
Dont forget all volunteers that ccame with water annd supplies were turned away.

Don’t allow the Globalists to do this to you.
that guy should never have been in the charge of that position.
The saddest part is that these people are no longer in anyone’s thoughts because they get to go one with their lives and have a home and pillow to rest their heads on before falling asleep for the night peacefully, while thousands of people can’t 😢
It’s sad and heartbreaking how we live in a society that is beyond selfish and self centered 😢

Do you all still believe this wasn't intentional?? Unbelievable!

Ditto for the electric co personnel who chose not to turn off the power.

May God watch over all those who passed and those that survived and the families
I’ve been seeing this reporter for many years. I don’t even know the guys name, but I gotta give props, he goes places and makes good presentations
Please don’t move to Montana ! You Californians are ruining my state!!
Exactly was the dumbest thing I’ve heard something sleepy joe would have said.
To be fair california government might have done the same thing, The head official said water was sacred and needed to be conserved. The same way Califorinia leadership leaves dead trees (forest fire fuel) in the forest because they don't want people cutting down trees, environmentalists cause environmental damage.
this WAS a plan.
How can I sit there and watch him cry and not show any emotion like this is the saddest thing in the world I’m crying watching this
crying brings in more views, if it bleeds it leads

Who tf blocked them leaving! They had orders to block the road. These citizens should unite and fast
