    Hi Pete, that’s a lovely blue, and a really nice finish, I see the chaps point being able to adjust the fan whilst spraying wheels I’m guess they do this almost simultaneously or in quick succession, interesting points though. Thanks for another interesting video Pete. Cheers.

      Hi Steve, It's a lovely blue, isn't it? Yeah, he was saying he's adjusting on the go as he gets to the different parts of the wheel.
      I personally tend to do wheels in sections, so the thin parts first, then the wider parts second. it's not as if your material is going to have gone off before you complete the whole thing.
      Always each to their own, it is a really good gun apart from that and for every one that say they like the position of the adjusting knob I get 20 that don't, cheers mate, hope alls well 👍

    Great video and explanations. I have the 4400 HVLP and didn’t realize the RP bodies were the same. I would love to have 2 guns in one, but I contacted my SATA rep and he said they were different. Other than parts fitting each other, could you point me to some spec sheets or data prior to me buying new nozzles.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Mate, Sata say they are different. In fact, they used to tell people the threads were different on the tips of the HVLP and RP. They are not.
      I looked at the HVLP body and can see no differences apart from markings. Tips and caps are different, but by changing both, you should have an HVLP gun

      @@peteshobbies5383, thanks for the reply. Buying a 1.3 RP nozzle is way cheaper than a whole new RP gun.

      Hi Jeffrey, it came out lovely, didn't it, there's a few small nibs near the filler cap but otherwise perfect.
      It was the first time cranking it up to 2.5 bar, and 2 bar is normally great for good results, but coupled to the MM2 clear, not a top quality clear but better than the cheaper one I normally use it worked brilliantly, although I do say it myself 😁, thanks mate 👍

    Hi Pete, thanks for another upload mate I'm sure we all appreciate all the work you put into making these videos👌
    The 4400B really laid the base down nice and smooth, the clearcoat looked amazing as well so it seems the gun liked the higher pressure plus there didn't seem to be any more overspray but it's hard to tell on a video anyway, I don't own any Sata mini guns so I can't comment on the fan control problem but I do have big hands so I recon I would have the same issue as you do🤔
    Cheers Pete👏👍

      Hi John, Thanks, mate 👍 , Yes, I think you would. It is unbelievably annoying when you close the fan accidentally as it can really bugger up a job.
      It's totally different to the full-size guns. You have them, so you know they aren't a problem, such a shame this one is as it's actually a really good gun and not as expensive as some these day's, cheers John 👍

    • @JohnWD40TC02
      @JohnWD40TC02 Год назад

      It's a shame this is happening as like you say it's a good gun otherwise, I think your only option is to find a way to stiffen the knob a bit (and no I don't mean you need Viagra🤭) to make it harder to turn, if it was mine I think that is what I would do🤔
      Note to self, do not mention "harder" of "stiffen" in the same sentence as knob 😊🤨🤣

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Год назад +1

      Dirty talk, John 🤣😂😅🤣, I know people have put PTFE tape on the threads to stiffen it up a bit or to slightly damage the threads to offer more 0resistance, I didn't want to do either really, certainly, on the videos I've done with it the feedback is probably 10 to 1 agreeing with me as to it being a problem which does make you wonder why they don't take that on board 🤔

  • @bosshawg7427
    @bosshawg7427 Год назад

    Some are just used to the side fan control, like on many guns, but I'm not a fan either. In my experience, the fan knob gets much less adjustment vs. pressure and fluid, thus it is danger of being accidentally moved during use. On the other hand, most guns will atomize a bit better with slightly higher pressure. Factory suggested pressures are mostly to adhere to regulations at the air cap in certain areas.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Год назад +1

      Hi buddy, I couldn't have put that better myself. In my experience, it's the least used control, especially if the items your spraying aren't particularly intricate.
      With regards to pressure, you are absolutely right, I always try to use the lowest I can to get the job done. Although this is a cracking finish, it would be a little too flat for many uses. I appreciate the comments as always. Cheers 👍

      I have a much bigger setup now, so it can power the HV30 ok, and I've been really pleased with it. It does use a lot of air, though, but it goes to show how versatile that gun is

    Hi Pete, spray gun is Sata minijet 3000 B HVLP with 1.2 nozzle. Would you like to tell us base and clear coat setting?
    In the video I saw that you clear coat setting fluid : full open, how many times do I have to turn that knob for full open
    thanks for your time

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  10 месяцев назад

      Hi buddy, When I say fully open, it means the fluid needle can not go back anymore when you pull the trigger, so if you pull the trigger in, adjust the fluid control at the back of the needle anticlockwise until the needle won't go back anymore as your pulling the trigger, that's full fluid.
      As for basecoat setting, it really does depend on a lot of things, I would start around 1 1/2 turns out on the fluid, so turn the fluid needle all the way in till it stops, then back it off 1 1/2 turns.
      Try that and turn it out if needed, depending on what you are seeing. I hope that helps 👍

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  10 месяцев назад

      @panzehir8097 Normally, HVLP would be a little less than that because HVLP is mostly used for base coats, I would try 1.8 bar for base coats and around 2.2 for clear coat, normally you would keep a HVLP set up a little closer to the work, so around 125mm and adjust if necessary
