Excellent straight to the point review! You should've included Roman HD compilations as an honourable mention. Pro tip - If you enable both Roman HD mod and AAA Generals.. it changes Roman and Greek skins to Attila's Roman skin.
I never really liked mods for ANY game, until I saw your video’s, now I’m constantly looking to add mods that will make my total war campaigns better. Really nice
Great video and I'm loving these mods. Enhanced Particles still works in 2022. I"m playing Divide et Impera. Just need to manually download the mod via the link provided in the Steam Workshop for the mod, unzip the file and place the .pack file in your R2TW data folder = enjoy. I use the Steam launcher for all my mods but the Enhanced Particles mod is the only one I've had to manually install.
The faces from Attila mod isn't usable unless you have an older version of the game, it hasn't been updated in quite some time I believe (which is a pitty). But other than that, great video!
All of this mods are great, but they have one problem - they increase loading time drastically (especialy terrain mods), so you absolutely need SSD to use them.
I can't believe you didn't mention Ancient Armies by Attila. The mod reskins all units and generals in the game and they look phenominal and very historical. If you haven't checked it out, you should totally do it and make a video about it.
Have you tried Ancient Empires for Atilla it's really good, the lack of graphical mods for Atilla is a shame though, I'm going to try and make it look better with Reshade, but if you haven't tried Ancient Empires you should it's really cool and has a later start date
History Critique: It's miss leading to suggest that wearing armor in your "senate" is dictatorial; this happened in nondictatorships in the Peloponnesian probably before the dark age and specifically in places like that of Sparta after. Seems important to point out given this is a game based on "history". No need to exacerbate inaccuracies of the time period. Good video though.
@@happycompy its great, makes the units 3 shot each other (depends on the stats mostly but about 3 for the mid to high tier units) so u dont have to wait 40 min for the heavy units to finish poking each other's shields every 30 seconds
@@trevor8726 A simple matter of changing the attack interval stat to zero in kv_rules tables....but can make the combat too fast. There are several other combat and overhaul sub mods that do this.
Know this is probs a bit knitpicky but can you still get steam achievements with these mods installed? I really like the look of them but am also a fan of achievements etc

I did not know this! Here, have a pin my friend!
@@happycompy ah shucks you dont need to 😅
I can’t played Rome 2 without visual mods anymore, great work my friend keep it up and you will see 10k very soon!
Me neither, and thank you man!
finally someone that explains the effects of these mods IN the battle too instead of only the campaign map!

That's so awesome to hear!
A great selection! It’s crazy how much graphical and unit mods do to change Rome II.
Thanks Andy! I agree.
I would recommend the HBO Rome conversation mod, which reskins the Roman's in Caesar in Gual and Imperator Augusts
Gotta love that Medieval Total War soundtrack! So atmospheric.
MTW has top tier atmosphere and music. LOVE that game (not biased at all :P).
Yessir, back wit the banger🤗

Have to check the AAA general mod
As always, great video mate
You'll definitely enjoy it, and thank you as always!
Rome II needs a graphical update on the scale of Troy.
Thank you for another brilliant video. Definitely checking out that True bronze mod!
Enjoy!
Finally a nice looking campaign map mod! Thanks for the tip
No problem!
Really cool that you keep to a thematic with every episode and you don't throw in all kinds of mods at once.
I'm not sure I'll be able to keep that up forever, as it does limit the mods that I can cover in a single video.
exactly what i was looking for
AAA generals is one of my favourite mods for Rome 2 :)
It's insanely good.
"weekly" ... Insert el risitas meme
Good video as always! 👍
KEKW
Finally! Another new video :)
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@happycompy great reccomendation of mods and better looking generals is great
it's a little change, but Benjin's centurion reskin it's a must for me. Vanilla centurions sucks, but with that mod centurions look impressive.

I use it with the current version just fine.

YESS👑
Only 9k subs with absolutely top grade content smfh the shaaaame
Appreciate that!
Why do game developers not take advantage of these mods and download updates for the game, we want online battles of this quality

I'll have to check this one out!
That man who created Orbis terrarium is a god
Yeah, he is.

I haven't tried it yet.
@@happycompy If you like the punic wars it's awesome, it starts with the battle of Zama
Very cool, what I really want now is a better voice acting mod.
True Bronze doesn't work for DEI or Para Bellum, thus, it doesn't exist to me lol.
Yup, DEI has it's own retextures built into the it.
Parra Bellum is my favorite overhaul

Can't find Orbis Terrarum II. Found it
Support the channel guys his doing our work to find the best mods!!
I think the best mod for rome II is the mod HD Rome II BETA 0.9.5 by celticus
How are you getting Faces from Attila to work with the current version of Rome 2?
It just works. No extra steps required. I know it's out of date but it works just fine :)
@@happycompy thanks. Can the beards, facial hair and hairs still function on these new faces?
I am trying to use the AAA mod and it doesn’t work I am playing as Sparta and they still look the same any recommendations??
Can you do a video for attila ??
What campaign map is that??
Have u tried the mad onslaught mod?
Nope. Is it cool?

@@jasonargos110 i havent looked much but mad onslaught was the best one ive found for faster combat
There should be a mod replacing all soldiers faces with Mr Bean, Laurel and Hardy ect
What mods would recommend that would allow me to recruit numbered Roman Legions?
WARS OF THE GODS-ANCIENT WARS.
AAA generals is the shit!
Agreed!

Yes, you can
Happy or you going to address the public order issue in your Community Patch mod?
No, because I like where it's at :)
how do i get these to work
Great list! Though idk why you use this font in game, it's ugly af man D:
It's more readable!
Just play Attila
Attila is great but it's certainly not a 1:1 replacement for what R2 offers. It has its own set of issues, most of them being performance related.
