I use FSD to drive directly to that supercharger location all the time. You need to drop a pin at the the supercharger and FSD will navigate all the way there instead of stopping at the Shoppe entrance. Not a FSD but map issue.

FSD isn't necessarily better than a competent driver but for the fact that it can see in many directions at once without distraction, being tired, under the influence, angry, etc. FSD is a competent driver unto itself but for edge cases (hence the supervision). It's nice to see Zack's real-time reaction to his first EV drive, his first Tesla, and FSD. Welcome to the future, Zack.

99% of tesla users don't use the key. We just link the car to our phones. No need for a key 👍🏾
You can change the yoke to a normal steering wheel if you don't like the yoke 👍🏾

You are 100% correct on the key but this isn't my personal vehicle so I was given the keycard. Plus I thought he would get a kick out of the fact that the key was a card 🤣. Thanks for the watch and comment!

If you look, it drove until the end of the blue line on the map, it then tried to pull over and stop right there. It doesn't yet know to continue and find a parking spot. And unfortunately the map didn't draw the line all the way to the supercharger (sometimes it does, depends on if the parking lot is mapped or not)

That’s a great observation. I didn’t realize that in the moment. I will try this test again

FSD navigates to the location pin only atm, your location pin was exactly where the car stopped, if you wanted it to continue forward withgout navigation in that parking lot all you had to do was slightly push the accelerator pedal to give it permission to continue on it's own

      @Butter_EV  Месяц назад +1

This. You have to be more specific with the destination and it'll navigate the parking lot and even park itself.

So thanks for the video, and the ride along, and so I bought a 2018, Tesla Model 3, L/R, dual motor, all-wheel-drive, with FSD, and I just traded in on a 2024, stealth gray, white interior, and I absolutely am starting to appreciate the yoke steering wheel.
So when I bought my Model 3 back in 2018, FSD was not a thing, so the best I could do was what they call, enhanced auto pilot, which would allow me to use auto steer to stay in my lanes, but it would not stop at red lights or traffic signs or do any turns.
So I believe it was in 2019, that Tesla announce that FSD would be available, and the initial buy in was 3K, and I said to myself, I’m all in, and so I paid 3K, and they had to come out to put in a new drive computer, because the one that was in my car would not support the new software protocol/language, and so I have been using it from the very beginning, and so I’ve seen every iteration up to where I’m at now, which is V12.3.3, and there’s at least 2, iterations beyond that.
So I’m not sure why I haven’t gotten the latest 2 updates, but having said that, I’ve watched FSD go from 3K to 5K, to 8K, to 12K and then to 15K, and now it has been reduced from 15K to 12K, and then to 8K where it presently stands today, and so talk about a deal! That to my mind is the deal of a century, and I could not pass it up, because I missed the 1st window to transfer FSD, and when they open the window, extended it for the 2nd time, I said I gotta get in on this deal, because I don’t know if they gonna extend it again or keep it open or what they’re gonna do with it.
So now, I learned that they also reduced the monthly subscription price for FSD, from $200 a month, which in my opinion wasn’t a good deal, to $99 a month which I think is a much better deal.
So it’s been quite a ride for me to see the evolution of FSD beta to now FSD supervised, and see it go from having all the ultrasonic sensors in the car deactivated to now having vision base only, and by the way, you have vision base only in that Model S you’re driving, because it’s the same one I have.
So the good news is that, it’s only gonna get better, in fact it’s gotta get better, because Elon has just announced, and I am sure that you’re aware that they are going to be unveiling the Robo taxi in August, and if they’re going to do that in August, what that mean is, they have to have solved the full self driving/autonomous driving conundrum, because it cannot just be full self driving supervised, that wouldn’t make any sense, and so they have to have the car, the complete package, because all Teslas will be able to drive completely fully autonomously at some point, as that’s the goal. That’s where the company is driving to.
That’s where Tesla is driving this technology to where one day, no one will be driving a Tesla because Tesla cars, and trucks will be driving you, and the car will be the robot, because we don’t need a humanoid robot like Optimus to drive our cars/trucks, because the car, and the trucks are going to be robots themselves, and so we can use Optimus to do other things like mow the lawn or do household chores or assist us in other areas of our personal life, but we don’t need it to drive our cars, because the cars can already drive themselves.
So when it comes to Tesla, what folks need to remember, is that it’s a disrupting company, as it’s mission is to disrupt traditional industry, and to move the entire globe to adopting sustainable energy sources, such as solar, and other renewables, but primarily solar, and so if you think about it, it is exactly where the globe is going to go, otherwise we end up like the dinosaurs, with no home, and without a home, you don’t have a wife, and you don’t have kids, therefore, you have no future, and you don’t have a life! Cheers 🥂

I adapted to regen braking/single pedal driving within a few days.
Everybody seems to be trying to introduce pickup trucks. For all of the reasons stated in the video, today's EV pickups aren't going to satisfy the truck buyers they are targeting. Elon made the CT for one of two reasons, maybe both. 1) his ego over-ruled his "first principles" brain and/or 2) he knew how miserably legacy auto would do trying to copy him and wanted to further disadvantage them by having them waste money trying to build something that current technology can't provide. Passenger cars should be the priority for now. Push the envelope later.
