These kinds of tools and prices aren’t meant for regular consumers.
@@tgbhair u might be right but women spend a lot of money on beauty related things, just look at the number of people buying 400€ Dyson blow dryers. But I get what u're saying
@@Neferfifi21 I agree with this, it is unfortunate because a lot of these “benefits” these highly expensive tools seem to have aren’t worth the hike up.
Has my RA for three years now. First mistake was you did it on dry hair. You get a smoother finish on wet hair. Add heat protectant, section, section again and blow dry in 1-3 inch sections depending on density. You have should go with 1 -2 inch and make sure you are on heat and not cool. And turn the section up to 8. You will get better. My hair is down my back and it beats that brush dryer any day for me.
No other dryer is easier to use or can provide less risk of breakage on kinky coily hair. Holding the wand is way easier than the constant back and forth motion of using a blow dryer + paddle/bristle brush or blow dryer with a comb attachment. 😐 I’ve had mine almost 4 years. Used every other week for 3 of those 4 years. Highest heat. Highest tension. 10 sections. Dry the section for 15 secs. Take out and detangle with my kazmaleje brush. Reinsert the section for 30-45 seconds. Cool shot for 5 secs. I can do my whole head in 20mins. Helps with length retention as it helps reduce breakage and single strand knots that lead to breakage 😊 Oh yeah ETA: ZERO heat damage even with combining it with silk presses. Between Feb 2021 and Jan 2022 I clipped my ends every month until I got a 3-4in cut in Jan. Hair Started at arm pit length. Total of 12 inches of hair cut in that time frame. I Started using better quality products with light protein and noticed how much healthier my hair was growing in so I wanted to slowly cut the old hair off. My hair is now at Bra Strap length and I’m almost 6ft tall.
My advice would be, if possible, divide the work amongst 2 days: 1)Takedown 2)Wash & Dry. For me, I couldn't imagine doing all of that on the same day. Plus, it gives your arms a break.
Go to the gym ladies, the RevAir won’t stand a chance. I have the older version and I love it because I have 4c hair and blow drying my hair without breaking my hair is amazing. I suggest using their hair styling products for heat protection and using a detangling brush before you blow dry, setting 5 for tension and 2 for heat. ❤
@@mashavuwilson3832 I bought mine like 3 years ago and the nozzle started to crack because I kept dropping it. I told them and they sent me a new attachment for FREE. I’m thinking it does the same thing but now it’s lighter.
I use a timer on my phone (60 sec)for each section for consistency. For my 4a hair that is also fine but thick like yours my perfect setting is 5 on high heat . Just make sure to use heat protection. After sectioning I let my hair sit in gently dabbing my roots . To be more comfortable I tilt my head down. It actually stimulates hair growth and makes it easier to blow dry
You’re extremely honest videos are the reason I loc’d up my hair two years ago and I’m truly happy I made the decision because I have such puffy 4c low porosity hair and the styles always took too long and never looked right on me.
I have 4c hair that when stretched, reaches the bottom of my back, and I can say this device saved me so much time. I was going to cut my hair cause it was just too much but this made it so much easy. I use level 7 and heat level 1 and it takes me 1 min and 20 sec to dry each section (16 sections total)
I love Revair, I didn't find it hard to use but I guess it depends on each person. I love that my hair was done in less than 20 mins. I actually get more exhausted in my arms using a regular blow dryer. Your hair looks great. Thanks for the video
Dang I had the exact opposite experience with the RevAir and I have the 1st gen which is heavier lol. Using other dryers with the tension method used to take me up to 2 hours to dry. I get my entire head done in 20mins with the RevAir. I would suggest watching the how to video on their website for our hair type and use it exactly like that with those settings. Also don't use any heavy products on your hair like leave ins or oils before drying with it...just a light heat protectant. Using the lowest heat setting was better than high heat for me. As for it being heavy I got use to it pretty quickly considering that was the biggest con IMO
It takes some getting used to, but after about the third time of trial and error, I achieved maybe the best blowout I ever done with the RevAir. Setting 4 and heat level 2 work best for me. With my hair detangled, and only drying 2-3 inch sections (2-3 finger width sections) at a time (30-90 seconds), it only takes me about 45 minutes. I have 4c hair that gets so many single strand knots. This helps me trim and stretch it.
Sweet a Revair review!! I have both the old Revair and the new Revair which I love to use on a regular basis! The learning curve can be steep but with time, you'll definitely get the hang of it! For example, smaller sections are key!
This dryer is far superior than anything on the market for type 4 hair. I have it and plan to get the new version. It has been game changing foe my hair.
@@tmcurly are y'all being paid by revair? Every video talking about it it's a bunch of positive reviews instead of normal comments you'd expect under a video. It's very hard to find a negative review in these comments when their own website has a bunch of negative reviews.
I always do my hair standing and use the suction and heat on the highest setting. I also do smaller sections and start at the top.A half hour is all I need
I bought mine 2 years ago, I just went to the revair website and they happened to be advertising refurbished blow dryers. I don’t know how often they do that though, perhaps after the Christmas holidays would be a good time as the returns as always high during that time.
--Your face with the first portion you blew dry....Priceless. I forgot to mention that I like the RevAir if I decide to flat-iron or hotcomb my hair, also. I'm one of those people who sweat while in the process of blowing out my hair (which defeats the purpose of blowing it out, if I'm going to press it. This process is so quick (you get more efficient with it the more you use it) that doesn't happen for me anymore.
I'd forgotten about the sweat reversion I used to get blowdrying before my revair. Actually in the summer it can still happen even with the revair. This time of year I can just leave the heat down below 70° and be fine with the revair though, no sweating.
Your arm isn't wobbling while you hold it with one hand. That IS improved 🤣🤣🤣. I have the first version (and I absolutely love it, even though it's loud and heavy and I keep asking myself, "Am I vacuuming my hair?" lol. It helps me when I trim my hair. I trim my hair while it's natural, in twists, a few times a year, but once a year, I like to trim ti while it is blown out. I have always been challenged with blow dryers, I can't use a brush without ripping my hair out, so RevAir has been a godsend. Once a year, I vacuum my hair! lol.
Revair gives me a much healthier blow dry experience. I have both versions….new seems to be half the size of the original so thank god you got the new. I can absolutely tell my cuticle is laying flatter because my blow dry is way less “full” than when I use my Dyson. My hair is on the fine side. I do 8 to 10 sections for 30 seconds per section 1st pass, comb thru then another 30 seconds per. I love it but there is certainly a learning curve.
This is 100000% worth it for me. I have 4c coils and the blow drying process hurts my arms and my scalp cuz my hair will forever tangle no matter how much I trim or even full on cut it and it leaves me with headaches after messing with my hair too much
Suggestion. For me the RevAir works better when I allow my hair to air dry in 4 braids a little. For my daughter she can go from soaking wet to almost straight. I also avoid any leave in products with glycerin or humectants.

I just bought myself the new version for my birthday! It arrived yesterday and I used it for the first time today. I saw you posted this video after! Wow! ✨💖✨ Best tip I could give with also only using it once: try sitting in an armchair. My arms didn't tire, but I also didn't do a takedown right before the dry 😉 Imagine if you were brush chasing with your handheld dryer instead 👀👀
Your hair is thick and beautiful, by the way 👍. I just received my RevAir for my wedding anniversary. If you detangle well, use the high heat setting and a suction level of 5-6, maybe even 7, you will see incredibly quick and stunning results. The lower settings are for less coily hair types that don't need a great deal of heat and tension to dry. Looking forward to your post-learning curve update!
I have a suggestion, something which works for me when I am doing twists and my arms get tired. Try using this device while seated at a desk or table. That way, you can rest your elbow on the surface and tip your head to use the RevAir . The top of your head would be easier, especially. The back could be reached mostly by resting the red hair against your neck and shoulder, almost like you’re cuddling a snake end it wants to kiss your hair. It might be a bit more awkward than using a desk, but, if you sit on the chair and rest your forearms on your knee, you could have your hair flip forward and let it fall into the RevAir. HTH Edit: I just had a goofy idea which seems sound the more I think of it. If you have a crutch, you could bungee cord the business end of the RevAir to the top horizontal remember. I always call it the Twinkie. Anyway, securely attaching it with no wiggle would be wise, since it would be tough to return if you try to explain how you injured it. Anyway, the crutch could support the weight and you could sit in a chair and maneuver the dryer, mostly by leaning into it or leaning towards yourself. The caveat would be making sure the foot of the crutch is set against a heavy, and moving object, like the wall or a heavy piece of furniture. Try it seated and standing, since crutches and star puppies vary in height. I wouldn’t recommend relying on zip ties, since I find they fail when we’ll wait and torque come into play. Nothing against duct tape Other than residue.
Use it in the bathroom standing and put heat protectant in your hair then select small sections. Make sure the roots are dried and select the right temperature for your tresses. It is easy to use and very effective. There wont be any drama once used correctly. Your hair is looking great.
Do you have tips to Help with hair growth? My natural hair is 4B/4C and it only goes to my collarbone. I would really like it to be longer so I can have the confidence to wear out natural and not just in braids 24/7
This review is 1000% spot on. I have the old version. It's loud, and cumbersome but it works. Funny enough the less hair you put into the dryer, the faster its dries and the straighter the hair gets. The price range ain't no joke too but I was able to pay in installments which took the pressure off my pockets a lil bit. Also because the old version is so big, storage can be a challenge. Thank goodness it came with a storage box! Overall no regrets from my end.
$400 is way too much. This reminds me of natural hair youtube when I was in college. I bought so many unnecessary products and tools. I just hope the women buying this can truly afford it. We have such a small net worth on average yet spend so much on haircare.
I just got mine, and it’s truly worth it. I would’ve spent all my coin on this even if I couldn’t afford it. I feel like it’s going to help me reach great lengths for my hair.
This is actually a very useful tool in the natural hair community to prevent breakage and damage since our hair is so fine. Looks like a great investment that will actually have great results
I heard it dos t exactly work out for some within the wavy to frowy hair like their ends get tangled or the roots don’t be fully straight. It’s a take the risk and see the results. I am very tender headed due to burns on my scalp(hot iron comb) from my mother doing my hair so heat in specific places are uthfuebfjfbdjebdjd then the non scarred parts. Using a flat iron, blow dryer or washing at the hair salon with the long hose water/shower head so close to my scalp feels too hot when I know it’s not(forgot perms). I don’t really be doing anything with my hair no more so using my blow dryer is ugh, therefore I was thinking of using other drying products to dry my hair IF I was to style it or say remove the scabs on my head and use Vaseline to heal it. Can’t scrap off that stuff without my hair being straight and can’t be using perms so much to have that straight affect.(or going to salons to get a simple silk press) I wanted something like this that can get the job done better than my blow dryer and from what I heard I could hold this close to MY SCALP and get it all dry and straight. I do plan to save up and get it close to my birthday so I can finally treat my scalp of the scabs.
I understand where you are coming from, I’m not sure why it so much I wish they would partner with someone to make a smaller prototype at a cheaper price, but I got it and this is definitely worth it for anyone with 4 c hair, not 4 type 😂😂 the way it straightens your hair while still moisturized hair is amazing
@@hilda436 I think it would be better to save up and go to a dermatologist. It sounds like a bad idea to scrape off scraps like that. If it's that long ago, they're probably not even scabs. It's scar tissue that can't be treated like that. Don't risk making yourself bald or something.
I just saw a video about this same hairdryer like 2 days ago or something. Kee of Deeper Than Hair. Definitely seems like the kind of dryer that suits a salon setting more than at-home. Having someone else do it for you saves a lot of contorting and pain. Everything has a learning curve and I'm sure you can make it work for you. Seems like it's not an impossibility, judging by the anecdotes of other commenters. That price tag hurts more than my shoulders would though, so I'll pass and just live vicariously through others. Maybe frizzy air-dried hair will become trendy or something...right?!
Its definitely steep definitely something that should be used in salons or when someone else is doing your hair rather than personal use, however the results are GREAT
I’ve used a TON of methods and factors to basically triple my hair fullness and growth about 7 inches of length! Oh…I guess I should make a video about it lol
I have this for my daughters (my hair is loc'd) but my first thought is that your sections are too big. For us it works faster and better with smaller sections and we got better with each use. Nice video!
I've been using mine for 2 years now and I love it! I have 4a4b midback hair, and my hair gets really smooth and straight. I use it on my daughters' hair too; their hair also gets straight and smooth. It takes me about 25 mins to do my hair with it. Use a good smoothing product beforehand. I like to use Chi serum or I use olaplex no.6 and 7 or no. 9. Also, use smaller sections on the highest heat and tension. Hold it on each section for 1 min to 1.5!
I'm willing to get buff arms than using the dryer brush/combs etc 🤣 Also dayums your hair grown so much! And gotten a lot thicker ! You will adjust to the machine along with some biceps!
As someone who has 4c hair and appreciates maximum stretch from roots to ends from a blow dry, the thing I want to understand about Revair is how much of a stretch does it give? Granted, your hair came out looking beautiful, and if my goal is to rock a stretched fro, it's perfect. But if anyone is like me, you need and want those roots stretched to keep reversion at bay throughout the week and minimize any tangling/matting that might form as a result of shrinkage. How stretched were your roots? My hope is always to be able to have a blow dry session that doesn't exhaust me AND provides optimal stretch; enough that I can either go on to do some flat ironing OR do a stretched twist out. I hate any type of shrinkage following a blow dry because all it means that my hair will continue to shrink and inevitably become increasingly difficult to manage throughout the week. Thanks for the vid!
I find that I can't get my roots completely stretched and dry without frying my ends. I'm doing high heat and low suction for under a minute per section. I may try low heat and higher suction next time and see, but supposedly high suction tangles the ends of black hair. So far I've handled the roots by just using the revair to pull my hair straight, then going over it for a few passes with a blow dryer with comb at the end to get the roots, not dragging it all the way down to the ends. That has been a perfect combo for straight roots without frying my ends or pulling out hairs.
I have question - are you able to use a Leave in with prior to the Revair ? I don’t feel comfortable going straight in with heat even if it’s considered less damaging
I was shocked right along with you on your first section. I yelled "Girl!" so loud bcuz that worked so good. Your hair always looks thick and beautiful. I was not ready for that stretch. I want one of these so bad, and keep watching video after video on all types of hair to see how well it works for each. I have 3b-3c hair that shrinks 4 full inches. It's good to hear about the learning curve struggle bcuz not too many people talk about that.
Thx! I've been looking for an honest review. Its great that is works so well. I think you are the FIRST review to address my concern..ease of use! I'm not in the market for a hair dryer, but this one ranks well.
Ive had mine for about 4 years. Recently restarted my natural journey and it took 5 months before my hair was long enough to use it again. Absolutely love it. I'm now considering locing my hair so today might be the last time i use it but it was definitely worth it.
You can still use it to dry your locs after they mature. They’re not supposed to stay wet after you wash them because they hold on to water longer than loose hair.

@@firstlala8972 oh I didn't know that, thanks. I'm not American, I thought they were bigger.
@@tgbhair u might be right but women spend a lot of money on beauty related things, just look at the number of people buying 400€ Dyson blow dryers.

When she threw that phone I LOST IT!!! 🤣🤣🤣
No other dryer is easier to use or can provide less risk of breakage on kinky coily hair. Holding the wand is way easier than the constant back and forth motion of using a blow dryer + paddle/bristle brush or blow dryer with a comb attachment. 😐
I’ve had mine almost 4 years.
Helps with length retention as it helps reduce breakage and single strand knots that lead to breakage 😊
Oh yeah ETA: ZERO heat damage even with combining it with silk presses.
I was worried about my hair reverting after sweating at the gym.
I gotta start lifting lol I’m more of a HIIT and cardio gal…and it shows
Do you think the old version may be better for 4c hair? In your opinion, would you rather stick with the older version?
I use a timer and do 60 seconds per section as well.
You’re extremely honest videos are the reason I loc’d up my hair two years ago and I’m truly happy I made the decision because I have such puffy 4c low porosity hair and the styles always took too long and never looked right on me.
Same
I have 4c hair that when stretched, reaches the bottom of my back, and I can say this device saved me so much time. I was going to cut my hair cause it was just too much but this made it so much easy. I use level 7 and heat level 1 and it takes me 1 min and 20 sec to dry each section (16 sections total)
😂 0:12 this is the most relatable image I’ve ever seen in my life
Omg right 😭
So no need to put heat protectant for the revair? Thanks for the video
I love Revair, I didn't find it hard to use but I guess it depends on each person. I love that my hair was done in less than 20 mins. I actually get more exhausted in my arms using a regular blow dryer. Your hair looks great. Thanks for the video
I appreciate your review. I’ve seen plenty sponsored videos about Revair lately but none mentioned it being awkward to use.
I didn’t find it awkward to use at all
It's not awkward. You have to use it on the right setting for your hair so that you won't have to hold it all day.

@@tmcurly are y'all being paid by revair? Every video talking about it it's a bunch of positive reviews instead of normal comments you'd expect under a video. It's very hard to find a negative review in these comments when their own website has a bunch of negative reviews.
I remember you used to call your hair thin and it kinda looked as so, now it's sooo thick!! Do you think the twists helped with that??
Wow the GROWTH and THICKNESS was highly distracting. You have come far and I'm excited like it's my own hair lol
I always do my hair standing and use the suction and heat on the highest setting. I also do smaller sections and start at the top.A half hour is all I need
Yes I agree…the revair can be a lot to handle, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Also, I bought mine refurbished from Revair for half the cost.
How?
Can you please share more info on how to get one refurbished? Thank you.
Thank you for this tip! I got my Dyson refurbished!
I bought mine 2 years ago, I just went to the revair website and they happened to be advertising refurbished blow dryers. I don’t know how often they do that though, perhaps after the Christmas holidays would be a good time as the returns as always high during that time.
I waited until they had a sell during Black Friday lol
I don't know about this one can you do a comparison between this and Revlon style blow dry brush or what ever they call it lol
Such lovely results here! Beautiful!
This is 100000% worth it for me. I have 4c coils and the blow drying process hurts my arms and my scalp cuz my hair will forever tangle no matter how much I trim or even full on cut it and it leaves me with headaches after messing with my hair too much
I literally cut my hair off again, after 4 years. My hair was so tangles and had knots. I'm so tired of it. 😂😂😂
"What in the calisthenics?" Girllll, I had to like and sub. You're outrageous!
Suggestion. For me the RevAir works better when I allow my hair to air dry in 4 braids a little. For my daughter she can go from soaking wet to almost straight. I also avoid any leave in products with glycerin or humectants.
I just used RevAir for the 1st time and I love it? Question what is the best heat protectant?

ReavIr 👍
How do you normally blow dry your hair…? Denman or paddle brush?
You prefer it opposed to the RevAir?
HTH
Edit: I just had a goofy idea which seems sound the more I think of it.
You. ROCK. I think I’ll film a rematch video down the line.

I think your hair looks great 😊
What did you do afterwards? I am thinking I should just put an oil on afterwards or something. I just used it for the first time a few days ago
Don't risk making yourself bald or something.
best review of revair, genuinely love your personality and this review - mainly your expressions made me laugh but i did enjoyed it!
I want to try this hair dryer for my 4c hair. I would like to do some more research on it to see if it can stretch my hair and not shrink it so bad.

I saw it. She's amazing. I think if someone else was doing it makes a possible diff. The person's hair she did was

Also dayums your hair grown so much!
I have a video that I did a silk press after the revair and it came out bomb
I find that I can't get my roots completely stretched and dry without frying my ends. I'm doing high heat and low suction for under a minute per section. I may try low heat and higher suction next time and see, but supposedly high suction tangles the ends of black hair. So far I've handled the roots by just using the revair to pull my hair straight, then going over it for a few passes with a blow dryer with comb at the end to get the roots, not dragging it all the way down to the ends. That has been a perfect combo for straight roots without frying my ends or pulling out hairs.

I've been wanting a revair so bad. I don't do blow outs or straight styles that often, but I've seen people use them to stretch shrunken wash and go's as well as dry braids. And I've been big into braids lately. So it seems like something I can use no matter what style I'm going for.
Using this to dry braids is genius! Omg worth the investment if someone wears braids often.
