What if All Pokémon Were Only a Single Type?

Out of the hundreds of Pokémon across the series a great many of them combine different types together to form unique pairings, however what if didn't? What if, by some fluke or limitation, Pokémon were only allowed to be defined by a single type? How would that change some of our most beloved pocket monsters and influence how they interact with the world?
