    Hello!
I’m Shirria Mac, a 30-something year old, with four children, a husband and three dogs (Willow, Cream, and Charlie). I am documenting and sharing my journey towards eliminating debt, building wealth and early retirement with hopes of retiring early or making work optional. I’m currently working on consumer debt and my mortgage.
Thus far, I’ve been able to eliminate about $50,000 of debt alone, although I’m a married woman. My spouse and I continue to have separate income as well as separate bills and debt. I refer to us “a married couple.” Thanks so much for tuning in. If you have not subscribed, please consider it!

Your pay transparency is refreshing and inspiring, as black people we will never get money if we dint talk about money and in social work there is the constant misconception of being broke and not making money.that part is only true if you go for jobs that will pay you less, it may require not doing the type of Social work you want but it's still social work

I agree! I feel like the stigma of talking about money and being transparent is the assumption that people feel entitled to your money. The entitlement may be very real but people have the right to say no, and with that I have absolutely no problem!!!

That shirt is awesome! You have to ask those questions about time off and getting paid (in the interview process).

Thank you! I found it on Etsy! Yes, I made a list of all the things I did not like about my previous job and formulated questions around those issues…my supervisor was getting interviewed too!

@@WealthySocialWorker82 thank you so much! I have never been in the social work field so do you think it would be hard to try and work as a medical social worker once done with my MSW? Or are there certain requirements?

I understand. Yes, insurance companies have extended reimbursement for tele-therapy. As a result, many companies are allowing remote work at least until 2023. Even after that, I can’t see them justifying not allowing telehealth as on ongoing option.
