This was my favorite part of Deus Ex: HR. The environment, gameplay, visuals, sound effects, and music were just great. Visually, I loved how Yelena's cloak produced a slight darkening against the light of far walls through the cool fog of the room. I had kept to close quarters combat and stealth the entire game and to fight someone who was my superior in every field I thought myself an expert in was exhilarating.
If you had a stealth build with max cloak/energy, this fight was amazing. Total Spy vs Spy. You both cloak and dive between cover trying to ambush the other, yet no words are spoken, as if they are consumed by the intensity of it. You both exchange blows and vanish. From cover you survey the area. Nothing. Seconds seem like hours. Suddenly; a shimmer. You pop out - pistol ready - to find she's not there. The hairs on your neck begin to stand as the silence is broken by two words: "Move, Adam."
Out of all the boss fights in the game, I think this one is my favourite. First time I fought her she constantly owned me because I was going for the stealth/non-lethal run but then I found mines and a heavy rifle.
Mioda I never asked to start the battle with her with no ammo left, but the game fucked me up with an awful save! (I did, however, ask for 'Give me Deus Ex' difficulty..

Although the boss fights weren't fantastic, all of them set the stage for you to play it how you wanted to. There was no one way of beating them and depending on your augmentation build you either had a harder time or really had the upper hand so in a way they were really good too.
This boss wasn't that bad, just watch the floor when she turns invisible, don't shoot the wall panels and run directly towards her when she's about to explode. You'll run past each other and she never hit you. Finished this fight with full health.
Ben Bailey I thought the boss fights were pretty fun, the only problem is that the only solution was combat. That complaint is pretty pointless when you consider the alternate solutions added in Director's Cut. Otherwise they were as good as any boss fight, a lot better than the original DX.
+Cxero Annuki In Director's cut, combat is still the only solution. You only had added more ways to fight them. In Mankind Divided, they will add the ability to talk bosses out of fighting them & what not.

I had a stealth/hacker build when I killed her. Keep moving at all times, close to the center "arena", to avoid her SMG bursts. When she drops her cloaking to Typhoon you, move directly AT her. When you reach her, she'll pause to launch the Typhoon. DON'T STOP, sprint past her, out of Typhoon's range (it'll be best if you have the sprint aug). Turn around and pepper her with bullets. Repeat until she's dead. There's plenty of ammo in the cabinets near the power junctions to help you.
I favoured the target-tracking app for my SMG, carefully watching the water for ripples, and dodging her typhoon attacks with Eliza's massive face... ;)
By this point I had been VERY thorough in scavenging for credits, praxis and XP, so I had every relevant upgrade that was useful for fighting her. Immunity to all grenades except frag grenades is useful, as you can use them at short range. Also, fully upgraded assault rifle with seeking bullets, seriously OP.
@@kiryukazuma7960 Honestly, there are a fair few decent options. The only real problem with the AP pistol is a lack of DPS against targets you can't one-shot, which honestly doesn't come up that often. If you're not engaging in full-on firefights often, it might be a better idea to try maxing out the Revolver as your go-to heavy-damage weapon, especially once you get the explosive rounds upgrade for it.
