To your last video's comment at the end about Afterlife and Rebirth, I 100% agree. I can't speak to Rebirth, but Afterlife had an order of magnitude higher difficulty with literally zero improvement in loot obtained when reaching the wasteland as you've seen. Why would you waste 1000s of bullets clearing a tier 5 POI if you don't even recover what you expend in value? This killed the end game for me and reaching the wasteland was the end of my run in afterlife. The ultimate in progression is and likely always will be Undead Legacy's hybrid system of random loot schematics + scrapping the unnecessary ones for specific research. Crafting high end weapons and armors was always just a support to looting and that maintained the balance. You always had an incentive to get into the action, to reach higher biomes and higher tier POIs for that sweet loot or money, AND research data. To your point, the crucible schematic is incredibly expensive to research (if you recall) and serves as a gate to the higher end recipes but you could still get extremely lucky at a certain game stage and find the schematic in loot, saving you precious data for other projects and giving you a great rush of dopamine. No matter what mod I play, even the better ones like Darkness Falls, I still have not found a system that is as satisfying and intuitive as UL. If only UL had an endgame like Darkness Falls...still my favorite mod by far.
@@GunsNerdsandSteel keep faith, we will have a good new one UL sooner than later. I miss UL too, that UI is the best by far for me, the progression, the balanced mix between loot and doing missions...
It feels to me a lot of these mods try to be a "Vanilla +" experience when it comes to difficulty, but don't add much in the way of content to actually deal with that increased difficulty. When I gave Rebirth a shot a few weeks ago, I saw that you get like 2.5% more damage per level in a weapon skill; so about 25% once you max it out... but the Ascension/Misery mechanic ends up giving zombies something like a 200% or 300% boost in HP. In addition to the usual increase in HP for being a higher "tier" of Zombie (Rad/Tainted) and whatever damage resistance they might have. They really end up bloating effective zombie HP scores and just not giving you much to work with to counter that.
@shadowed1312 Darkness Falls does this well : you get uber weapons to deal with that last tier of enemies and it felt appropriate. I think Darkness Falls is the best new content mod and Undead Legacy is the best Vannila+ mod.
@@shadowed1312 I've played Rebirth for a long time, and you'll really struggle if you just go by the numbers. There are a lot of mechanics in play to increase your overall damage output, like auras, music, global auras, and food - most of which I see almost no streamers use. You also have to change your tactics. You can faceroll a POI with ferals and rads when you have the higher level weapons, but if you try that with all tainted, you're gonna suffer. If you ignore the buffers, you're gonna suffer. Geek especially has so many utility skills that it can be hard to keep track, but they have one of the best stuns in the game, and turrets deal out more dps than any other weapon at higher levels, and you can have several of them, AND they proc your auras. Their melee is somewhat lower damage in my experience - but they get the stun baton and the plasma baton (basically powered wakizashi-level burn effect) and the Shocker (AOE shock), plus turrets, plus a turrets skill that lets them drop multiple temporary turrets, plus shock grenades, PLUS a shockwave ability that drops a shockwave grenade at their feet. I feel like a lot of people approach Rebirth like vanilla and expect to walk through it like you can vanilla, and get upset/surprised when they can't. There are also many settings you can adjust to tailor your experience. But regardless of your settings, if you come at it like it's vanilla, or you try to run using one tactic, you're going to struggle. It's really not about the equipment - it's about the strategy.

Just wanted to day thank alot for the videos I really wish I could support you and glock with money but kinda can't at the moment been a rough year. Stay awesome and keep killing it with these base builds it's impressive
In Minecraft there is a way to make a schematic of your build and basically move that build where you want, maybe there could be a way to do that for bases on here so you can move base to next biome when you feel ready
I know that you said in the last video that you'd be two episodes ahead but for future base builds, attach your doors to relays in a safe place thats easily reachable, that way you can just reattach the relay to another switch during the horde.
With watching you, I was able to suggest moving to the Desert as soon as it was feasible, and it has made it a nice update especially for the global aura achievements.
Oh that is definitely a good consideration, but I'm not really disappointed with the progress that I've made on global auras. I'm about to craft a few of those
I thought it would be cool if your mega base builds from the different series were imported into the prefabs so you could run across them in play. Like an easter egg in a way

24:34 "I am in fact coming to the realization now that we don't have a lot of ammo" Looks like selling all that ammo earlier that day instead of converting it to the ammo type you used wasn't a good idea after all... :P
I think the biggest Problem with the previous design was that the stairs was in between the poles which were only 1 block apart, which caused a ton of issues with the crawlers and such that got somehow up there and banged on more blocks than necessary. If the poles were like 3 blocks apart (so 5 blocks wide totally) and the jumping stairs were in the middle, this wouldn't happen because they would have to go "around" at the top to get to the doors and such as they couldn't directly go there from the stairs, thus eliminating a big point of friction. Edit: Another problem is probably that your fighting position is not high enough, thus zombies that fall down (which is a LOT of them) all go into "destroy everything" mode all the time.
So if you mount the vault doors in the opposite orientation (frame vertical), do they still provide a viable path to zombies or do they only work for a path when the door frame is mounted horizontally as you have now?
Horde Night plus is a disaster...I had it on by accident at the start of a game and I got seekers on the first horde night blowing up everything. My base didn't last 2 minutes.
That's the fun of horde night plus - we all try to thrive on horde night. Horde night plus changes that thrive to survive and that's a dynamic that is quite enjoyable when you've played for thousands of hours.

Sorry, but it's not feasible. You can't mix the mods because they will not work together. If you could even load it, which you is a big and unlikely if that would require lots of personal, bespoke changes, it would crash quickly and often. And, if you mean create a mixed playthrough series ping-ponging between the two mods, Tem can't do 2 different yet completely related playthroughs.
