  • Today we're back in the shop with a fantastic 1952 Fender Telecaster! A vibey Blackguard with plenty of cool wear, all original with the exception of a replaced nut. This one still has the original circuitry and sounds absolutely wonderful, as you'll hear when Jay hands things off to Aaron Hiebert for a demo through a trusty 15w Benson Monarch Reverb combo that we have in the shop at the moment!
    For more information on the guitar or amp, please give us a call as these are new arrivals!

    I know these amps are supposed to be amazing and wow us all, and they are pretty damn good, but with my modern blues Jr amp and a boss blues driver pedal and a $300 squire tele I think I can get to 90 percent of this tone. The rest is in the hands. And you can’t buy hands. Peace.

    • @ASM881
      @ASM881 3 года назад +8

      @@jambajoby32 I’m sure that’s true. I didn’t say I could get there with the $1300 worth of gear that I mentioned, I said I think I could get 90 percent of the way there. I am a working man with a mortgage and kids, I can’t pay 50k for amazing vintage guitars and boutique amps, so does that mean I shouldn’t try?

      You're right, at the end of the day most tube amp circuits are very similar and the reason why people keep saying these kind of amps are so amazing and "dimensional" is because of course they have to justify their purchases somehow.

    Theres something with the headstock on those old teles. The fist time i noticed it was on Joe Strummers black , worn tele in the 70:s. They seem to be more straight, somewhat skinnier and smaller. I might be wrong - but to me this IS the telelook. You can clearly see at 4.07 ca , in the video. Same thing with the f-holes in the 335:s the grew bigger and bulkier with time didnt they?

    O man, what a dream combination. And as much as I would love to own that black guard Telecaster (who wouldn't?), there's no way that I could ever afford it. But that Benson amp, that one's got my brain going. You all know what I mean, right? The feeling of a strangely pleasant type of restlessness. The idea that this is something you need, but also something you could actually get if... and then... and when I sell this old... I might.... and then maybe within 4 or 5 more months of saving and not spending any money on nonsensical things...., because I MUST HAVE THAT AMP!!!
