Famous person who shall not be named... Aaron proceeds to play Pearl Jam, you’re in the emerald city... hrmmmmm. Makes one wonder!!!! Spectacular video!
Unbelievably, I had a sunburst Strat with the old "wound G" pick-ups, that I bought for a few hundred bucks in 1981, kept it for a while, didn't really bond, had a TERRIBLE solid-state "practice amp", ended up selling it after a few months, cos I just wasn't getting any joy from it. TBH, I had no idea what I had. I don't know exactly what year it was but probably early 60's. Now I have a better understanding of what I had, I kick myself from time to time. This video makes me wanna cry a bit. Very nice McCready likes in the intro too, thanks for that !!
The polarity switch on the Marshall says it was an export/american version. We don't have them in Europe. And that Strat sounds ridiculous! Aaron really did justice to it!
As mentioned by Trevor, Mike Lull was the king of luthiers' on the left coast. His son is running the family business now in Bellevue Wa. Excellent young man. Sorry I can't spill the beans about the local guitar legend's identity, but you should know if you listen...
It really pisses me off I was in Seattle for some work who’s house was right next to.. probably the same person I’m thinking of. But yeah I would’ve loved to walk, on in put some through the paces.
Honest question: With what everyone knows about the vintage market, why would an owner not keep the original parts when upgrading to newer parts? This guitar's bridge and tuner replacements look like they required no modifications, meaning the old parts could be reinstalled if a new owner wanted 100% authenticity. I know old parts can be sold for really good money, but if you are devaluing the price of your guitar by not having the originals with it when you sell, wouldn't it be a wash?
Most players were not that smart back then and still are not today... I have a early 34-35 dobro amplifier that had the tweed ruined by some hippy painting it black... And also a brown face bandmaster head and cab that were also « blackfaced »
@@abubakr6939 Although certainly not as sinful as painting over tweed, but still bad, I actually watched a rare white Tolex Music Man amp hurriedly spray painted black when I was a bystander on the set of Light of Day, the 1980s movie with Joan Jett and Michael J. Fox. It was done to match the black amps onstage. And I never got to see the two stars!
Wait, so whose guitar is this? Could this have been McCready’s? I guess it could have been anyones. Just assuming, because of the amazing LedBetter he played.
Why do people set the trek springs up like that? It makes the guitar fall out of tune. Straight is the way to go. Angle the claw a tiny bit if you have to
Nope. You’re not hearing the mic picking up the pick hitting the strings - what you are hearing is what great, clear, articulate pickups sound like. They are picking up all the fine nuances of his playing. That’s the magic of a good Stratocaster. You hear every little chime.
When there's a 1959 Strat, there needs to be 30+ minute playing demo. It would make the world happy
Check out the channel Matthew Scott, he plays one in most of his videos
Depends who’s playing it.
I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate a good clean demo with a Marshall.
Awesome playing. Loved little wing. A good version never gets old. It's the bacon of the guitar world.
😂

Spectacular video!
I'm a simple man, I see 59 Strat through a Marshall I click.
This is one of the best demos I’ve heard on this channel! Soooo good
My dream guitar!
Beautiful tone I'm dreaming of that set up🙏👍🎸

In the 80s I saw a 50s maple board Strat being played in a bar band. They were just old guitars then.
what a pairing. Sounds amazing, and yes that strat has lots of mojo!
A vintage strat through a vintage marshall - nothing sounds better, the perfect dream team!
That's the tone I've been chasing for twenty years.
Only complaint is that this video was too short. Damn this was up there with the best of the videos on this channel IMO. Damn good 👌
Nothing like a slab board. Incredible guitar...incredible player. Thanks Aaron!
Perfect song choices for this one! McCready ROCKS 🤘
The polarity switch on the Marshall says it was an export/american version. We don't have them in Europe. And that Strat sounds ridiculous! Aaron really did justice to it!
Ask Castlemadeofsound. Expert in Marshall modding.
Somebody needs to get Aaron on contract to do all of your demos. The guy just plain rips.

Agreed.
@@nycLPplayer it says it was unavailable? Do you have another link?
@@thirrteenthirrteen5528 fixed it
@@nycLPplayer: You good Sir, we’re absolutely correct on that one! Kills it!
Aaron Hiebert! So good to see AND hear you again!!!
When you see marshall plexi with strat in the thumbnail you have to press immediately on this video because it will be great 🔥👌🎼
Amazing tones and great playing!

Mike McCready would be my guess to your year old comment lol. 59 stray sounds about right for him
RIP Mike Lull, its great to hear his praise!!!
WOW,..mind numbingly good tone! That freaken 59 Strat and that Marshall sound soo damn good its offensive!
FYI. Playing starts at 5:30.
I'm generally not a strat fan but dang, thats what a strat is supposed to sound like!
Sounds beautiful.. awesome
Nice to hear someone demoing a vintage plexi who isn't cranking the piss out of it. There are so many beautiful tones available.
My dream rig
5 and a half minutes to start playing a guitar and amp demonstration is absolutely crazy
I could listen to Aaron play all day.... and all of the following day.
Yellow Ledbetter! I haven't heard/played that one in a while. Great song choice!
That nitrocellulose finish is really doing some real work to the tone... I can never produce that sound with my Poly guitar...
I want to know the local legend who will not be mentioned
Right! Is the name included in the price? Lol
we're all wondering that but,I'm gonna guess "yellow Ledbetter" was a hint.
Damn nice combo !!!✌🏼
My dream guitar
nails the hendrix tone
Can you guys please put the price of the guitars..... I need to know how much to sell my house for.
59 Strat thru a Fender Bassman, even better...
That is THE tone! 5:40
Dang, Aaron.....Yellow Ledbetter to Hendrix..... Great Guitar and a Great Guitarist.....
Nice sounding guitar. Sounds like a Strat should.
Great video! Some tasty gear.
0:58 why 2-tone sunburst on a '59? I was under the impression they started using 3-tone in '58.
Probably faded. My '60 is the same. Faded to a 2 tone burst.
Sounds great.
Aaron is a god amongst men
Yellow Ledbetter :-)
It really pisses me off I was in Seattle for some work who’s house was right next to.. probably the same person I’m thinking of. But yeah I would’ve loved to walk, on in put some through the paces.
Very cool. So why would Mike McCready be selling his spare 59? ;)
McCready plays a 60 not 59
@@davidwile1277 😂😂😂 if only he knew earlier
I'm usually going to listen if Aaron is playing.

Marshall Super Tremello was the original AFD amp
Playing at 5:31

Whats the asking price on this beauty???
Those Pearl Jam vibes 🥵
That is the Strat tone, seems hard to come by..
Should have a single ply bakelite guard But you never know w Fender lol Very cool Sweet sounding
100% Hendrix❤️❤️❤️
"And they called and I said that I'll go and I said that I'll call out again..."
Dream's guitar
😥 fuckin' beautiful man.
Some Buddy Holly & Carl Perkins tunes would’ve been ideal for this guitar demo. Just saying.
I kept waiting for the amp volume to be cranked. Still holding my breath.
Stevie Ray Vaughan que buen solo
All you need is Aaron to do demos for you, keep him coming in!
Ah some Seattle classics
I want that strat so bad😭 I’ll never be able to afford it
Shame I'd sound like me through that rig.
How a Strat is supposed to sound like.
Partscaster
Should have cracked it a little bit at the end
Every time i see these awesome old guitars I hate myself more for being left handed and not having learned to play right handed
U ok ?
Why do people set the trek springs up like that? It makes the guitar fall out of tune. Straight is the way to go. Angle the claw a tiny bit if you have to
Block is blocked. The springs aren’t going to make a difference
It sounded like Pearl Jam's yellow ledbetter
Cosa seria
Maybe I'm wrong but the mic takes the sound of the plettrum on the string, not only the amp. Guitarist and amp should be more far.

I ll take this amp. Pass on that axe. Amp is magic here.
But its has that crappy 7'' radius neck!
Hmm....I wonder who that unnamed musician is. First song to be played is a Pearl Jam song..... Mr. Mike McCready.
Every single Strat demo has to be played in C#… 🫠
The only thing that sounds better than a fender guitar through a Marshall amp is a Gibson guitar through a fender amp.
What a HARD SELL on a guitar that had been treated like SHIT!!
Knobs aren't original
You surely think you are good at the video editing 🤭. Please don't make it is so, when guitar playing let us see it.
dang dude calm down. he is spazing out with all the hand and arm movements.
