So I’m 32 years old and I haven’t worn sunscreen on my face since I was probably about nine… I know it’s a horrible sin but I can say that this is the first summer that I started wearing sunscreen on my face every day because of your channel. So though I don’t live in the sun I must say thank you and I’m sure my future skin is going to thank you.

When I am on holiday, especially if is a beach vacation, I go super minimal. Cleanse, moisturiser, spf and drop all actives. Skin is happy!
Vacation looks good on you!! I love your dress!! I too wear a HUGE hat at the beach. I know people think it looks goofy but my face has thanked me for it and I have you to thank for helping me realize how important it is. I always thought sunscreen was enough but the hat and protective clothing is the full package and needed. I've even gotten ny boyfriend wearing a sun hat and protective shirt!!
How about a video on the biggest scams in the skin industry that you see. So much information being thrown our way with regards to tools and treatments its hard to know which are valid and which are just cash grabs and won't really do anything for us except drain our wallets.
oh such a good idea, seen many ppl do these but would love shereenes deep dive take on these! especially tools and such treatments etc.

Amen! I don't want to look like I'm 70 at 50. I have pale freckled skin and flaunt it.
THANK YOU. I am extremely pale. Almost no foundations are a match for me. 20 minutes in the sun will make me pink. I have had sun poisoning and sunburns that were 2nd degree burns. I was always made fun of for being so white… jr high nickname was Casper (the ghost!). I can’t imagine telling a dark person that they’re too dark and need to do something about it. But people have no problem telling you that you’re too pale and need to get a tan. 😡 I have my revenge now, though…I’m 50 and no one believes it. People have thought I was 35 and don’t believe it when I tell them I’m 50. I WIN!
@@miltoncat Actually, people do tell dark skinned people to do something. I come from a colorist culture and have been told to bleach my skin many times.
And don't shame dark skinned people either. There are indeed people who destroy their skin and health trying to bleach their skin with products from China that has harmful/straight up toxic ingredients (i.e mercury).
@@bloopla872 this!! everyone is pressured to be beige on both sides and darker skinned people have been shamed and pressured for faar longer with socioeconomic implications

100% recommend a rash jacket to anyone thinking about solo travel. I'm too embarrassed to ask a stranger to put sunscreen on my back and I got horribly sunburnt on my back as result. I used to surf, so a rash jacket is pretty normal to me, and I've never been burnt on my back or arms while wearing one.
My daughter has beautiful pale skin. It’s nice and even toned. I, on the other hand, have old sun damage and my skin is 400 different colors. I wish I knew then what I know now.

Best thing ever for me (we live in the desert) are long sleeve sun protection shirts. Keeps me cooler in hot weather as well as protecting my arms and chest.

First thing I always packed is a couple of Off mosquito sprays. I don't go on vacation without them. Then Sunscreen. 😂I love everything you brought with you. Enjoy your family vacation!
I've gotten my spf clothing (I'm alergic to sunshine, yes literally) at Solbari. Their hats are great!
We are going to Costa Rica in December. In reading up on what to do while there, travelers are told to bring their own sunblock as it can be quite expensive there. I plan on self-tanning when I get home!
I went to Key West for 4 days over the 4th of July weekend. I arrived looking as pale as Snow White, and I left liking as pale as Snow White. To the point one of my students actually didn’t believe that I went to Key West at all! 😂

Yes! I too brought a bag o'sunscreen on our recent lake trip. A spray, a sport lotion, a different sport lotion, two different face spfs, and a quicker dry spray for my kids who will run away almost before it dries. Oh and high SPF lip balm. And a large brimmed hat with a neck cover. I also applied SPF 3 times on the car drive up which was 10 hours. I definitely did not burn or even tan. 😄 At nights I washed my face with micellar water and then my gentle cleanser and slept in Dr Eddie's Happy Cappy ezcema cream. When we got home I was so tired but my skin looked amazeballs.
I love this! I went to the river two weeks ago and did the same. But I was not as diligent with reapplication or putting the sunscreen on my lower legs and forearms. I burned in those places and I'm just now starting to peel. My arm is a purplish color, it's awful. Its worth being diligent! My face, chest and upper arms are good though! I used a high waterproof SPF and it kept me well protected on our river float.

I appreciate any ideas or tips for applying sunscreen to small children! On school days, I only have the opportunity to apply sunscreen to them in the morning (there is no way they or their teachers will reapply it during the day) so I would love any ideas for making it last as long as possible. Their playground is not shaded!

I used to get eaten alive by mosquitoes on holiday, especially on my legs, until someone recommended getting a repellent with DEET in. It made such a difference, I highly recommend looking for DEET!

I do not do well in the heat either. And I have always been very careful about not getting too much sun, which my friends used to tease me about a little. But now at age 57 I have very little sun damage. It is well worth protecting your skin from en early age.

I've not been a sunscreen person, more "no sunscreen, more latchenkiefer" person, but I've gotten much better. However, I was visiting a skin/beautyplace today to do IPL and had a reaction to the heat. I told her I had sunscreen on and what does this person, a skin therapist, tell me? I should NOT use sunscreen other then when I'm tanning. Because it clogs the skin, may cause allergies and is apparently generally bad for my skin. Well, I have no confidence in that person for my skincare.
At least I don't listen to her but to Shereene and other derms to learn how to get my skin as healthy as possible

I love fair skin, dark skin, all skin tones! (I’m sorry I’m the grammar police haha but pale is always used interchangeably with fair and I have always wondered why?) lol. I’m just saying if someone where to make fun of your fair legs then there’s something wrong with them, not you. Be your beautiful self ❤
I am so pale that my partner is always saying that I look like a wall lmao but then when I don’t wear any makeup he appreciates my skin not being damaged by the sun!!!

I recently started using the Scinic "Enjoy All Around Sunstick SPF50" and I really like it because it has a natural finish and no white case (i am dark skinned with oily/combo skin).

I was at Bermuda Pride Parade yesterday and sweat off my sunscreen a little and caught a little pinkness in areas my umbrella couldn't cover while in the crowd, not being able to reapply while moving...thank you for the tips!!! I plan to not leave the house today!!!! haha
