As someone who's still looking for a budget friendly and actually good moisturizer, using Vaseline after applying my moisturizer helps my skin sooo much!
That Paulas choice BHA has been my holy grail. Struggled with acne my whole life and finally am getting clearer skin (along with sunscreen and moisturizer) total game changer!! ❤️
@@CalieNina if you’re starting out I would do once every other day if your skin tolerates it. You will experience purging (break outs) but you have to use it over 30 days to see results. I love the Paula's Choice BHA! I actually have very dry skin (plus live in a very dry climate at elevation in CO) so I was very hesitant to use it because many chemical exfoliants can feel very harsh for me. But because I wasn't exfoliating my skin enough I developed a bunch of clogged pores that made my skin texture a mess. After using the Paula's Choice regularly for a few weeks my skin texture improved a ton and now I only use it occasionally if I'm having a breakout.

Hi Shereene! I would like I video about natural oils like olive oil, castor oil and shea butter. What benefits are there to the skin? Have a nice day! 🌷
I can give a partial answer, but I'm also curious what Dr Sherene says. [I'm an amateur cosmetic formulator and have researched oils a little. But there's a ton I don't know.] All oils are made up of different amounts of different fatty acids and other chemicals. (Everything is made of chemicals.) The different things in each oil or butter, natural or lab-created, give each oil different properties. Some are good for all skin, some are not good, and some are good for some skin but not others. Without going to my references I couldn't tell you what makes each oil special ... there are so many! The reference material can be looked up online. I also can't recommend one oil over another - I'm not in that business. By the way, natural oils can vary in composition (and effect) from batch to batch, depending on where they come from, the weather the year they grew, how they are refined, etc. One reason big manufacturers use lab-created oils is consistency - every batch of mineral oil is identical. This makes quality control much easier. [There's nothing bad about mineral oil, it's a super-refined oil with nothing special about it except that it's oily.]
I find that the PC BHA works really well. I have dry skin so 99% of BHA and acne products are too harsh on my skin, but this exfoliant doesn't dry out the crap out of my skin when I get the odd breakout or need to clean my pores. I use my hands to apply as cotton pads just suck it all up. I've not used the rest of the stuff but Dr Jart is a brand I want to try

I’ve always been unsure if I can apply BHAs while using retinoids. Not necessarily on the same day, but on a day I don’t use a retinoid. Would that be too harsh on the skin over time?

The Paula's Choice BHA sadly did nothing for my skin... I have a pretty oily T-Zone and am struggling with hormonal acne right now, haven't noticed any improvement after several months of using it.
