My name is Bruno Da silva, I have lived in South Wales, Birmingham, Derby and London, and I have been in Wolverhampton for over 10years.
During the past three years, I had the opportunity to visit major cities in the UK. Including Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, Yorkshire and many more.
During my visits, I was most impressed with the Authenticity of each of these cities. It was exciting to see so many independent businesses and young entrepreneurs succeeding in these cities.
And this is something our city does not have. We lack independent businesses and opportunities for young entrepreneurs. We have more pubs, car parks, gambling shops and takeaway shops than actual restaurants and cafes for socialising.
Young people struggle to find a decent place within the city to eat and socialise. There are not enough opportunities for young people like myself to thrive or to add value to our city. I believe Wolverhampton should invest more in young entrepreneurs and use empty spaces for independent start-up businesses.
Car parks in the city centre are costly when the city has nothing to offer, not to mention how the significant shops are shutting down.
For example, the shops below the I10 building is empty with unnecessary space that no one has utilised, and it’s been this way for a few years.
I believe we should stop knocking down buildings for car parks and establish a constructive way to invest in local businesses, young entrepreneurs, restaurants and entertainment centres.

I hope this investment and improvement to the city will bring in big international companies just like the ones in Birmingham City Centre to create 1000s jobs in Wolverhampton. Also I hope the council does something about empty shops in i10, Mander Centre and the rest of the areas around the town centre.

I wouldn't say it's a city of opportunity 😞because the city has no independent businesses. The city of Wolves should invest more on young entrepreneurs and use empty spaces for independent start-up businesses. For example, the shops below the I10 building is empty unnecessary space not being utilised by anyone.

Impressive - let's hope everything comes to fruition. However, an important, growing, sizeable city such as Wolverhampton also needs extended entertainment and sporting facilities to not only promote our city locally, but nationally, too. For example, every major city has an ice rink, so why not create a truly iconic rink that's fit for our 21st century city? Once you have that, you can then have an ice hockey team representing the city, too. Great Britain has very few olympic-sized swimming pools, so why not think *BIG* and build one in Wolverhampton, particularly if a separate diving area can help us find the next Tom Daley? Is there a top snooker tournament that the city can attract? If the Grand Slam of Darts can be successful, then so can the green baize.
All that's needed is a bit of flair, imagination and ambition in the sporting and entertainment sectors, for these are very important aspects to be considered if the City of Wolverhampton is to continue to progress and reach its undoubted potential. The redevelopment of the city centre should not focus solely on commerce - the city has to be a source of variety and vibrancy, but that can only be achieved by providing the Council Tax-paying public with top class facilities.
Create the type of thriving environment that Wulfrunians can be proud of, with facilities such as those that I've suggested, and Wolverhampton will then be seen as a health-conscious, progressive, truly sporting city. Wulfrunians deserve top class facilities, so give them to us. Let's live up to the coveted city status that this large, historical, exceedingly proud town fought so long to achieve. As I said, *THINK BIG.*

I really am looking forward to seeing the city grow over the next few years, but I also do share the concerns that at least three car parks have been built on in these projections as well as the small park next to the canal.
