    Hello. I just installed the Rough Country 2" spacer kit. Your video was spot on. So much better than splitting the ball joint and removing the drive shaft. The only thing I would say is you do need to rotate the bottom of the strut slightly so it will lineup in the factory position. Great video.

    Thank you! This was a great walk-through! I have 4 jack stands and 2 floor jacks and I needed all of them to manipulate the rear end. Also, you weren't kidding about the torque on those lower strut bolts on the rear.

    It seems like the front strut method you showed might be easier on F-150’s as well. Thanks for the tips.

    Did a 2.5 inch front-level via bilstein 5100 on my 2019 ranger last weekend, and dropped the LCA to do it. Looks exactly the same as on this build video (same chassis, so it makes sense). Was much easier than taking EVERYTHING apart like the ford manual suggested. Heads up, my toe was 2 degrees in on each wheel after doing it. Not even close to driveable... made it to the alginment shop, but the tires howled the whole way there :)
    Also, those LCA nuts have factory torque specs of 195 ft. lb. I had a hard time getting a big enough breaker bar under the truck to get them loose. I don't have a lift and i'm not a big dude, and yankin' on a 15" breaker bar required about everything i had in my shoulder. I torqued them back to 100 ft lb on the reinstall just to get it to the alignment shop. They took it from there.

    Could probably use thread lock when bolted the spacers to the coil over.

  • @Battlefresh
    @Battlefresh Год назад +1

    Is it really necessary to disconnect the rear track bar? I don't see the purpose as the track bar has plenty of range of motion. Also, same question for the front sway bar. Couldn't you just disconnect the end-links and rotate the sway bar up and out of the way? Then removing bottom skid plate wouldn't be necessary either.

      Did this install on my brother in laws 2022 bronco. Not necessary to take off the front sway bar or the rear one…….. for the front you can just disconnect the end links

      @@dannyb5863 looking at mine it seems like you would have to take the sway bar frame mount off to get the lower control arm bolt out.

    I welcome all replies - want to put fatter tires on a 2023 Outer Banks. Currently have stock P255/70R18 32" tires. Looking to move toward LT315. Sasquatch-esque. I believe that by going fatter, I will increase diameter - probably needing 35" tires. I want to know about required lift to accommodate that tire diameter and if I must change the wheels from 18 to 17 to do so. Thank you in advance for the guidance.

    So I just bought this lift/leveling kit and when I went to re-install the coil over, I noticed that there is a 4.5 degree tilt on the top of it. When you add the spacer (now plastic), you have to rotate the entire unit 180 degrees. This will now introduce a 4.5 degree tilt in the opposite direction. So now we have a 9 degree tilt from factory. Is this correct and should I be worried or is this a non-issue and I can drive my bronco for 200K miles with no issues ?

  • @justinb8739

    I really like this makes it so much more simple!
    Question for you I was looking up Rough stuff 2 inch lift kit.
    A customer on there put a 2 inch on his Sasquatch 2door, but they say that it won’t fit a Sasquatch, but it looks to me like the top hats are the same so what’s the deal? Rough Stuff said it doesn’t fit, I said well obviously it does, or the guy modified it?
    I think they just wanna sell you an upper control arm is my opinion?
    What do you think?

    • @brentsmith72
      @brentsmith72 Год назад

      It will physically fit, but the 2" lift on a sasquatch would allow the stock strut to travel too far into rebound, beyond the design limit of the front halfshaft. Since the non-sasquatch broncos are not lifted as much from the factory, a 2" lift is ok for the halfshaft angle.

  • @mmaso1121
    @mmaso1121 2 года назад

    Do you know if the outer bank factory wheels will allow a fit without spacers with 2957018 tires and not rub?

    Very informative step by step video. Can this be done on a Bronco Sport Badlands? What size tire fits a 2” lift. Thank you. Tom T.

    • @stage3motorsports
      @stage3motorsports  Год назад

      Thanks! The Bronco Sport sits on a very different platform from the regular full size Bronco so I don't think this video will be much help in that regard, but there are some small lifts and spacers available for the Sport to clear a larger tire. Sadly, since I haven't spent much time with the Bronco Sport I don't know what sizes would fit best.

    Any idea how much a shop would charge to do this? My days of working on cars was a couple of decades ago and I have limited experience with suspension stuff.. and limited space to do the install even if I had the desire or confidence to do it myself.

    • @Skinflaps_Meatslapper

      It's more complicated to take your truck to an alignment shop after dropping the LCA's and screwing with the eccentric position. Separating the UCA from the spindle doesn't require you to do that, so their method could be done by anyone in their garage.
