I thought of you both yesterday when I was in a second hand store. I found and bought a Norwegian Sedestal sweater! It was in perfect condition. I couldn't believe my good fortune! Thank you as always for brightening my day.
Dear Arne and Carlos, I am knitting a hat while I listen. I want to THANK YOU for role modeling (in a fun way) shopping in Thrift Stores. I also am a thrift store shopper, and love the idea of recycling and repurposing items, instead of always buying new merchandise. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
You guys are so fun together!! I agree with Arne, Carlos! It only counts if you're together, because the premise was Arne was with you in the lagoon. I am tickled watching the little gifts, the reasons behind them!,❄️☃️🎄❄️🦌🦌🦌🦌🛷🎅🤶🎁
I think Lagoongate will be shrouded in mystery as far as the number of hours spent. Arne could not possibly have accompanied Carlos on his Christmas shopping, hence giving Carlos quite a bit of an advantage in his argumentation. Nice strategy, Carlos! 😅 Anyway, all this makes for a lot of fun. And the cookie cutter in the shape of a bear is just adorable. I love the thought and time put into each one of these little gifts. It is such a treat to tune in each day and see what the next day (or sweater) brings. 🥰
I finally bought the sweater patterns this week. I need to make 3 sets for my grandchildren - for next year - that means about 1.3 per week to have them all done if I don't start until January! I hope I can finish them by then. I am so enjoying watching the 2 of you every day. Thank You.
I love the thrift store conversation that happens. I agree Arne I don't know if those thrift store trips count as you were not with him...ha ha Carlos you are such a good sport and a nice gift that you picked out for Arne.
Loving the thrift store “hours owed” conversations. I must say I wouldn’t expect a Virgo to try to get out of a bargain he struck with a friend. Don’t let him do it Arne!
Carlos I am so proud of you shopping for Arne in the thrift stores. That is so sweet. You have found him some really nice mementos. And Arne you are so very thoughtful in your gifts to Carlos too. Both of you know each other so well you can really pick out lovely thoughtful gifts. This has been so much fun to watch. I plan to knit the sweaters next year so that my husband and I can do that too. He is NOT a shopper so it will be interesting to see what he comes up with. One year he gave me a package of Oreo cookies for my birthday. Well, yes dear I do love cookies.
I watched an 11 year old video on RUclips of you both and speaking in your native language today and I watched it to the end and the only thing I understood was Dolly Parton 😂 . But that’s how much I enjoy you two . ❤️🇨🇦
I had to put the closed captions up and replay the section with your shark! 🦈 Loved the gingerbread teddy as well as the jumpers and balls. Love you guys. 💖🎄
I love today's sweater (jumper) pattern with the little hearts. Years ago I learned that hearts are popular designs at Christmas in the Scandinavian countries. I have made woven heart ornaments out of construction paper (two colors per heart) some years at Christmas.
Thrift stores aren't so bad Carlos, after all look at all the nice presents you have found for Arne. I think you will be caught up on your hours by Christmas. I didn't get to knit the Christmas sweaters this year but have all the Christmas balls from last year hanging around the house. I think I will start the sweaters now for next year. Watching your podcast each day with a cup of tea allows me to slow down and appreciate all my blessings. You two are a daily blessing for me. See you tomorrow!
I don’t think thrift shopping by yourself counts as hours off… I think it has to be with Arne. He has the black belt in shopping, after all. 😉 I love the colors on your sweater, Carlos! 😍 Glad to see you both today. We’re in double digits now! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Love the teddy bear cookie cutter. Have never seen that shape before. There are little red hot cinnamon candy dots you could decorate your bear with when frosting doesn’t work😁
Cute teddy cutter! I like to see the looks on your faces when you open your gifts, so much thought has gone into them. Enjoy the rest! Be well, Sally 🌹
I'm so glad my husband hasn't kept track of the hours he's spent shopping with me! I would owe him months of time watching things like "Curse of Oak Island"! Love your gingerbread cutter, Arne!
Lol you are both delightful to watch and listen to. The ball is beautiful and the cookie form is so nice. Enjoy this weekend day. Be well and safe. God bless
Carlos .. I think you should get a lot of bonus points for all the thrift gifts! I think you guys are great and having a great time with advent! Can’t wait for see the next cooking episode too! Enjoy the day, thanks for the videos!!!
Gingerbread is my favorite Christmas cookie! I hope we will see pictures of Arne's cookies using his new cookie cutter. My husband would under how you feel about the thrift stores, Carlos. He waits in the car while I go in. lol! Today's sweater and ball with the hearts are so pretty. Thank you for sharing.
I love the teddy bear cutter 💕 , I received a set of teddy cutters when my son was young and I made him a birthday gingerbread house with 3 bears 🐻🐻🐻 hiding inside for his third birthday, just like in the story of Goldilocks. I have various sized cutters so I can make Mummy Bear, Daddy Bear and little Baby Bear. We continue the tradition with out Christmas gingerbread house each year. Perhaps next year Arne will have teddy bear biscuits to put in the box along with the tasty ones you've shown us during advent.
Another lovely jumper, Christmas ball, and gift. ❤️ This is all so much fun. I am knitting a few jumpers this year and will continue to add to my set in coming years. Color knitting is great practice in Continental style as it necessitates holding one color yarn in each hand. I am usually an English style knitter (hold yarn in my right hand and “throw” it). But I surprised myself when I noticed I was knitting with the yarn in my left hand for the part of the jumper that uses only one color. It felt quite natural! I will have to try Norwegian style next. Thank you, Arne and Carlos, for helping us all expand our horizons! 💕
I love the cookie cutter. I’m a cookie maker and have soooooo many cutters. Arne you will love it for your gingerbread. The ball and sweaters are so pretty. ❤️
I bet that this video was followed by a "serious" conversation about thrift stores and lies. Lol. Thank you so much for being so authentic and adorable. I love you.
My jaw dropped at the same time as you Arne when Carlos said that his time in a thrift store ALONE counted towards his lagoon-gate debt - the audacity!! 😆 Don't let him off the hook! And did I miss it or did you forget to show us and hang up the Christmas ball? I love them, they are beautiful. I've made a few as small hostess gifts, which are always gratefully received.
I am visiting my folks in Ireland and was delighted to share a couple of the mini Nordic sweaters with my parents and pop them on their Christmas tree ..I know I won’t complete them all this year but I will eventually have a full set .Thank you guys for a wonderful KAL and I look forward to your fun updates every day ☘️🤪🧑🎄🎄🧶
Awww, the teddy bear cookie cutter is adorable. The Prym needles are amazing and I am so glad you suggested them. I need to treat myself to an entire set of them!
I like the color contrast and patterns of the today’s and yesterday’s sweaters! Making these mini patterns help me with color work knitting and with my confidence in maybe attempting full size apparel knitting in my next life! Ha ha ha! Keep up the creativity and good cheer!
I love the adorable little teddy bear cookie cutter that Carlos gave you Arne! I'm going to be baking some Swedish gingerbread cookies for Christmas and you've inspired me to use all my cutetest cookie cutters.
I have teddy bear cutters - in 3 sizes for The Three Bears - lots of fun! Love the little sweaters. I have the pattern but have been too busy to start. Am inspired now because my local Wool-shop had knitted them and there they were, displayed in a similar way to yours! I will have them ready for next Advent!
I enjoy the pace of your dialogue in English, interspersed with Norwegian words. When I watch with subtitles on anyones you tube video, it is quite interesting to see how different words are misinterpreted. The mistakes just make me smile 🙂
I am so happy for you. I have that cutter. Another passion of mine is collecting cookie cutters. I get that from my mom too! She would also go overboard with the decorations. I remember my teachers looking forward to having her cookies at parties, especially Christmas, at school. They would make such a fuss and I would be so proud of her. New rules at school allow you to only bring store bought goodies or healthy items. Now I may be eccentric but at your Christmas party, wafer cones with whipped cream and cloudberries or celery sticks? Hmmmmm, I want the wafer cookies and gingerbread and any other kind of cookie! Arne, you don't have to be like my mom. You can use raisins, cinnamon red hots or small candies and they are just as festive and tasty! Carlos, knit a bigger sweater. I have a 12 inch gingerbread boy cutter. Those wooden molds are nice for gingerbread cookies too. You are making me hungry. Off now for a hot cup of tea and cookies! NOTHING says Christmas like cookies! Twin double digits tomorrow, 'til then!
I ordered the mini-jumpers pattern and am planning to make a set for my grandsons to enjoy next year. And I’ve lots of DK wool in my stash to use, just need some primary colors. Thank you for inspiring us to create an heirloom for our families!
Not a Christmas type person but really looked forward to these count downs. Not a knitter but your channel is so versatile, I don’t need to be. Thanks for this!
I’m starting to get excited for Christmas by watching your Advent videos! Such a lovely way to start the day. I watch when I am having breakfast. Teddy Bear gingerbread will be very cute ☺️
I love Arne's enthusiasm for Christmas! I am the same and feel like we should never completely grow up. Being in my 50s makes me a big kid...lol. Please don't say we are in double digits and it will go fast. I want December to slow down as I am having too much fun for it to end.
I LOVE cookie cutters and have a huge collection. My Christmas ones live on my Tree thru the holidays and make lovely ornaments until they get used for cookies then go back to the tree. I can’t believe were nearly half way. Love you both See you tomorrow :)
I watched a crochet video once that was Korean. The closed captions were hilarious, like "stab the needle through the nose". This was for turning the corner on a crocheted piece!
Oh yes I remember you both making moose ginger bread biscuits and decorating! Could there have been Christmas tree?.. have fun see you both tomorrow! Xx 🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻😘
How about a 364 day count down calendar? Are you up for that? I agree with your comment. I feel like these two are part of my family and friends and I look forward to being with them!
Not connected to this video but I knitted the dog jumper from your greatest knits book for my miniature poodle. His jumper receives so many compliments whenever he wears it. I knitted it in a mixture of wool/acrylic so it would wash easily. It is pine green with autumn burnt orange for the norwegian patterning. Just about to make a second one for him in a different colourway! Thanks for a great pattern.
My family loves to play a game each Christmas Eve using a ball made of gifts, goodies and wrapped in saran or plastic wrap. There are tons of videos out there if you google the saran wrap game. I use candies, movie tickets, lottery tickets, small toys, etc to make them. Usually one for the kids and one for adults. You are supposed to use oven mitts on your hands but we skip that as it makes it way too hard...lol!
I think you should have a thirft store episode in the new year so we can all count how many hours Carlos has been there. 😉 I'd love to see the thrift stores in Norway.
Carlos, I love your sweater. Hmm, if Arne endured eight hours soaking in the hot springs with you than fairness requires that you shop with him for eight hours at the thrift stores.😸You can do it! In fact, you could film it for the vlog. Just a thought. I’m going now.
I thought of you both yesterday when I was in a second hand store. I found and bought a Norwegian Sedestal sweater! It was in perfect condition. I couldn't believe my good fortune! Thank you as always for brightening my day.
Lucky you!
That's Fabulous!!!
congratulations on your find

Arne!!!!! Don’t let Carlos cheat on the lagoon deal!😂❤️
I think Lagoongate will be shrouded in mystery as far as the number of hours spent. Arne could not possibly have accompanied Carlos on his Christmas shopping, hence giving Carlos quite a bit of an advantage in his argumentation. Nice strategy, Carlos! 😅

It was so heartwarming when you two were smiling so sweetly at one another. Heart squeeze. 💙💚💛🧡❤️💜
I was a bit depressed this morning, but your smiles and laughter have cheered me up!
Moose moose! Love you guys! Thank you brighten everyday
🤗 you know the dogs will bark when you least expect it!🎄
I really love that you designed matching balls to the jumpers!
The winner will be ‘revealed’. Love watching you. Best wishes from Yorkshire, England.
Love the sweater advent calendar. Miss the fireplace and the fun stories from last year. Especially the princes story.
I love the thrift store conversation that happens. I agree Arne I don't know if those thrift store trips count as you were not with him...ha ha Carlos you are such a good sport and a nice gift that you picked out for Arne.
I think Carlos visits to thrift store do count towards the total hours due.
You both are so funny. Love it . Thrift store sounds great . Must have a lot of treasures.
Loving the thrift store “hours owed” conversations. I must say I wouldn’t expect a Virgo to try to get out of a bargain he struck with a friend. Don’t let him do it Arne!

It’s porridgegate all over again!! I love it you two make me smile! Thanks see you tomorrow. Love the teddy bear! 😊😊
Love arne getting so excited to open gift. Love to see Carlos smile.
It makes me laugh every time Arne gives us his sly little smile ... he's just like a kid in a candy shop!
😍
I had to put the closed captions up and replay the section with your shark! 🦈 Loved the gingerbread teddy as well as the jumpers and balls. Love you guys. 💖🎄
So cute to watch you argue about the count down time. Carlos this cardigan looks wonderful on you, I just love the colors !

Nice try Carlos, but Arne needs to be with you at the thrift store or it doesn't count. I love you guys so much! You make my day! Thank you.
Loving your vlogmasses guys. Your mini jumpers are super cute as are u 2 xxx
Loving the thrift store countdown.😉
Arne you may need a "shark" cookie cutter too for your new collection! Happy day 10 of advent, much love to you both

Love cookie cutters!!!
Thrift Store gate is the new porridge gate! 🎅⛄
