Just love watching the two of you. Makes the end of the weekend go down a little easier. So happy that you both will be spending Christmas with Carlos' parents. You will have such a wonderful time together. Again, hope that Arne is feeling much better. Arne and Carlos was founded in 2001.
Thank you for the Christmas balls patterns, I am now knitting the boy and girl holding hands ball but replacing the girl with a boy for my son and his partners Christmas tree they will love it!
I remember. We got the book for our store, which was still running. In 2015, we had to close after 42 years in business - due to 3 years in red numbers. Was very sad. But Mom retail stores are having hard times with the internet. I‘m sure, if we would have made it through 2019, we probably would have to close now. So, sharing your podcasts is for me like being in a friends house, knitting together, and having fun and great conversations! Thank you for what you do!!
How very lovely - I have been thinking of something similar for my grandchildren, twin girls and a grandson 💚 I have bad health so would love to make some of these for them in the future.💚
OMG from 2015, such a lovely tradition for you both to sit and knit these balls. I shall have a go at some this year and maybe make them into a door decoration at the front door. I am doing the little jumpers too.
Woooow… I’m mostly a crocheter, but since I’m watching you guys I’m even considering to try to knit with four needles for the first time in my life… Thank you for your great videos and inspiration!
Love you I enjoy the show and enjoy the comments about your culture. If I was younger I would love to visit your country I feel I would be very comfortable living there I’ve been to Denmark Love the danishes Can’t eat them after you’ve had the real thing Please keep the show natural
you guys are awesome! you make this look so easy. I believe I can do it, then fumble with the many dpn's. :) I am a crocheter. 23 years now. But I will master this knitting! one day..
After all these years of watching your videos, After finding this one again and listening to Arne, I am now beginning to feel confident enough to start knitting my Christmas Balls for Christmas 2021 on my new Prym needles. Only taken me 5 years ha ha xx
Every time I watch you guys I learn more and more. Being that I am a new knitter (6mo.) I think this would be so much fun and a great way to lean colorwork. I am watching your 2020 Christmas ball creations and loving them. Thanks, stay well and safe.
Your designs are beautiful. I am so happy I was finally able to purchase your patterns for both the large and small Christmas Balls. Thank you for making these tutorials. I do much better when I can see it along with reading the patterns.
I need to buy this calendar..no time to knit the balls until after Christmas as I am knitting a lopi sweater for Christmas..where can I buy this to get the patterns..?thank you.
thank you so much ! I have found your videos about a month or so ago and I had wanted to try 2 stranded knitting. I purchased your book and I am now up to 6 Christmas balls done! they are easy and I love to knit them up. I have been knitting for about 20 years or so.
Each year I make things for my sister.. one year was a stocking advent, last year was mini sweaters/hats/stockings and this year will be as many of these as I can knit.
♡ i just love watching your video's ♡ and today your doggie's little foot on the side of the table wanting you was soooo cute ♡ thank you for all the wonderful video's ♡♡♡
Here I am in July 2021 and loving my self made “Christmas in July” with Arne & Carlos! I love that linen cloth from one of your visits to Lofoten! Carlos, I like to collect kitchen linens, too. Happy vacation, gentlemen.
Thank you Arne!!! I just learned a new trick :) Knitting in the back of the loop when decreasing, so your colored stitch still shows! When I design my own patterns I always struggle with decreases and try to do it "between" the pattern stitchesI LOVE your channel!!!
I have your book. The difficult part to me is the decreasing and increasing with the fairisle pattern. I love the steam hint you gave and how to stuff the ball. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you Arne and Carlos! Thank you so much for making a great video and sharing your talents!I just ordered your 55 Christmas balls book and I wish I was there knitting them with you!Happy Holidays
I am a knitting newbie. And I was excited to see that this is for beginners. But then I watched you make it with all those needles! I have never done that and that looks impossible at best! They are beautiful though maybe in a few years I can tackle something like that 🎄🧶🤩 Merry Christmas Blessings to you both ✨🎄
Using the double-pointed needles does feel a little weird at first, but it looks more difficult than it really is. You are using each needle in sequence. The other needles are just hanging out, waiting their turns. I actually prefer the DPNS to circular needles.
I just made the Robin ball!!! Your directions are wonderful. This is my first time to knit a heist as ball, knit a small circumference in the round and first time using a chart, I just steam pressed it and will post photos on Instagram for the contest when I’m done. Wow. So cool .
Well, that’s a handy tip…knit through the back. I usually just try a few things until it looks good. Now I know what to do! 😂 The picture seems to be a 2 white beetle (circa 1968?) with a bit of red something. Perhaps it’s a Christmas tree on the roof of the car or a chocolate Santa Claus from the first floor of the gingerbread house. ❤
You guys are my favorite you tubers ♡ I've been following you since 2020 and I love discovering these old videos. Keep it up please you Christmas balls have become one of my favorite Christmas traditions ♡♡
Thank you I loved this video I've had on my list to learn how to do colourwork. You both gave a lot of excellent tips and of course you always make it look soooo easy! I will keep going until it is easy for me too thank you ❣
I can see that they ARE addictive! So fun, I don’t want to stop, lol! I can finish one in a fairly short time, so they are also almost instant gratification! I have the new Advent Calendar, so am looking forward to the 2020 KAL!
My twin and I have so enjoyed you two. We love your home and enjoy that you share it all with us! Merry Christmas from Kansas in the USA. Blessings to you both this unusual year of 2020 with masks, distancing and playing safe.
I'm knitting my "Christmas balls" to hang outside. So, I am making a fairly dense fabric, the empty balls weigh 13 to 15 grams. Knitting clear silver lined beads on some. Really looking forward to the December podcasts!
I LOVE your videos (and both of you also of course) and my only complaint.....there are not enough of them!!! I think you two should have your own full length show about your fabulous crafts but I would also love to see how you decorate your home and maybe a segment on cooking your favorite meals, travels around your neighborhood etc. On my gloomy days I get up and watch your videos all over again and it always cheers me up and motivates me to get knitting! By the way could you maybe mention what yarn (brand) you are using for each project? Sending lots of love from upstate New York! xo
Beautiful Christmas 🎄 balls ~ I will be knitting them soon. Currently knitting your Advent Calendar jumper pattern which I’m loving although it’s March.
ARNE & CARLOS Thank you very much for responding to my comment. No, I haven’t made a Christmas ball. After watching your video, I have decided to try to make one for my sister for our annual Christmas ornament exchange. Thank you for making such inspiring videos. I will continue to watch with a smile in my heart!
I love your videos especially the ones in your home towns watching the ladies use traditional tools and wearing their costumes. I found you a long time ago from (The last homely house by the sea) and I didnt realise i was not subscribed, so have done so today, I also bought the pattern from you and it will be one of my challenges for next year. Merry Christmas!
You guys are great!! I just would like to say the search box on your blog is towards the bottom of the page for me (US android phone using Google Chrome browser) just in case anyone goes looking for it and can't see it.
I just ordered your Arne and Carlos Favorites book. I recently adopted two kittens from the same litter, born under my porch, and this will be their first Christmas so I need to make some kitten proof ornaments and these will be perfect :)
I feel so privileged to have discovered your youtube videos. For the last week I have been watching them late into the night. I downloaded your Christmas ball book on Kindle and it is just beautiful. I practiced with the yarn I have in my stash(too big) but would like to know the weight of your yarn. When I hit your link, I see all your beautiful yarn but don't know which one to buy for this pattern? I am excited about making Christmas balls this season here in Michigan.
Hi Brooke, the pattern for this ball is free and you will find it in the blog section in our website: arnecarlos.com . Just type the name of the episode in the search field. Good luck with your knitting.
I think what they mean is bring the other colour across where are knitting. It will be trapped and carried with the colour you're currently knitting with. For an analogous video, it is a bit like ruclips.net/video/Fz292NAjH2M/видео.html but not every stitch and the yarn is still attached to the balls. You'll get some tangling between the two balls but you just have to unwind that every so often.
My knitting teacher took this one step further by using initials on the ball as well as using a hard smooth foam styrofoam insert - 3 1/4 inches (instead of stuffing) which I like better. I took it one step beyond that and made a monogrammed pattern in my balls. I live in the Southern United States and we like everything monogrammed!
You guys are so great I enjoyed every minute with you . Wish I were your neighbor so we could knit together so I could b e as great as you two . Thanks for the video. You are the best . Merry Christmas To you both .. (mag)

It is Thanksgiving here in the States so I don't have to go to work Wednesday-Sunday. Guess who is having an Arne and Carlos marathon? Me.
Me too!
Me too from the US. Enjoying every one!
I've been doing that, too!
Enjoy!
I would like to learn knitting 101. I think it's amazing that your country taught knitting to all kids! These skills are very important.
Never too late to learn!
Will be doing these this year with a snow decorated tree and wooden decorations, cant wait to start.
Thank you for the Christmas balls patterns, I am now knitting the boy and girl holding hands ball but replacing the girl with a boy for my son and his partners Christmas tree they will love it!

Hi! Could you please explain what you mean by “twisting”? Thank you so much!
Hello, I will try to do, with your explanation seems easy. Thanks.
You are welcome!
