    Thank you for this! I am brand new to crocheting (less than a month). The instructions were so easy to follow. I have made about a dozen so far. The repetition is helping me really learn the skills. The first one took me an embarassingly long time, but now I can make one in about 30 minutes. They will make great Christmas gifts!

    I've crocheted since a little girl, but self taught using a little booklet that I still have from the 70's. Happy to see that most of my stitches are correct, and love that I can follow along with you and correct some of my misteps.🤗💖 It's always so much joy for me when I end up with the correct amount of stitches and end on the right stitch!😄😍🎉
    Thank You again for such wonderful instructions and inspiration!💖 Will be trying a few of these to add to a decorative dough bowl.🤞💖

    • @SimplyMadebyErin
      @SimplyMadebyErin  Месяц назад

      Thank you so much, and no, this one is worked in a continuous round, you can mark the beginning stitch with a stitch marker to help keep track. Once you work the hdc around the bottom, you can just keep going until you get the height you need, it's not 100% necessary to mark the stitches anymore.

    • @SimplyMadebyErin

      Hi there! I used the measurements that were shown on the packaging. I believe they use the diameter right across the center (horizontally). They get quite large once you put the yarn on them.

    • @SimplyMadebyErin
      @SimplyMadebyErin  29 дней назад

      It's kind of hard to explain, but just make sure as you're working that the piece is facing the outside, and then it's correct. If you are working and you're hook is on the inside of the work, you have it inside out.

      Yes, you can use whatever ornaments you have. I have a few suggestions on how to adjust the pattern on the written instructions on my blog: simplymadebyerin.com/2024/11/04/how-to-make-a-crochet-christmas-ball-ornament/

    I just love these and can’t wait to start making them!!!! I used the link you provided for wooden tags, but was unable to find them. Could you help me out as to the name of the company you ordered from? I would truly appreciate it.

    Do any adjustments need to be made to the pattern to accommodate left handed crochet?

    • @SimplyMadebyErin
      @SimplyMadebyErin  2 месяца назад +1

      I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with left handed crochet, so I'm really not sure. I'm thinking no, as its just a repeat all the way around.

    How do the ornaments get measured? Diameter at largest part or height or something else?

    • @SimplyMadebyErin
      @SimplyMadebyErin  2 месяца назад +1

      I used the measurement from the box, but I believe it’s the diameter across the center of the ornament (horizontally).

    When I do my second round of increase stitches I never make it back to the stitch marker and I’ve counted them to make sure I have 21 stitches. Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong? Is it 1 hdc, 2hdc, then back to 1hdc? Do you alternate?! From the instructions it seems as if it’s 1 hdc and then 2hdc in each stitch all the way around.

    • @SimplyMadebyErin
      @SimplyMadebyErin  2 месяца назад

      Hi there, here are the exact instructions. The first stitch of the following round should be worked in the marked stitch, perhaps you're trying to work the last stitch into the marked stitch?
      Rnd 2. 2 hdc in each st around. (14hdc)
      Rnd 3. *Hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * around. (21hdc)

    These are sooo elegant too bad all i had was the ornaments that open up. No pretty tops but, I was still able to make them. I got to figure out a top. I might just glue a water bottle top spray painted gold on it. ♥♥♥♥♥

      I'm so glad you enjoyed the pattern!! I'm sure you can figure something out for the tops, maybe wrap some twine around it?

    Thanks for a great tutorial. I tried it with a different yarn. Not quite as pretty as yours. Unfortunately the yarn you used in the tutorial is discontinued. I’ll try searching for something similar.

    Do you slip stitch at the end of each round?

    • @SimplyMadebyErin
      @SimplyMadebyErin  2 месяца назад +1

      No, a continuous round, you can mark with a stitch marker if you'd like.

    How did you measure the baubles to get 8cm? I measured all the way around and I got 22cm

    • @SimplyMadebyErin

      The measurements were on the packaging, I believe they give the diameter measurement, not the entire circumference.

    Anyone? Can you make these with an acrylic yarn?I have lots of acrylic yarn but was wondering if they might get fuzzy over time.... Anybody who's a more experienced crocheter than me would be interested in your opinion.

    • @SimplyMadebyErin
      @SimplyMadebyErin  2 месяца назад

      You can definitely use acrylic. Depending on what yarn you use, it may get fuzzy, just be careful how you store them. If using worsted weight yarn, use two strands held together.
