God, the mom’s crying on the 911 call breaks my heart. The juxtaposition between the cries and the calmness doesn’t strike me as weird. If it were my daughter (God forbid anything like that ever happen to her!), I suspect I would react similarly, trying to keep myself together in the hopes that she could possibly be saved, but the fear and grief seeping out in spurts.

I just want to add that if you do encounter someone having a seizure DO NOT place a spoon in their mouth. Do not try and hold them down or restrict their movement. You should remove any sharp or potentially harmful objects, cushion their heads, and loosen their shirt collar if it can be safely done. Time the seizure. Place them on their side during recovery.

I would have found that odd too if I hadn't done it myself. I got a call saying my cousin wouldn't wake up and by the time i got there the police were already there and when they opened the door i saw him laying face down dead. I became hysterical. When the police would talk to me I immediately stopped crying. It turned on and off. I was in shock and disbelief. I knew I had to tell the police everything I knew to help them figure out what happened. It was like God came into me and made me stop crying so I could talk to the police. I ended up telling them what he had shown me the day before and because of That info it made the police search the girls home he was in. I didn't know this at the time but it ended up being the girls drugs. So she went to jail. That happened to me when i was 22 years old. It traumatized me.

People are so critical. You hear a mom in distress and when she’s calm, she was trying to keep it together to talk with the 911 operator. There’s no protocol on how to act when you see your child on the floor not breathing. Smh.

    • @catserver8577
      @catserver8577 5 лет назад +113

I agree, what is someone who is panicking supposed to sound like when a 911 operator is barking at her to count and other nonsense? They are usually trying to get hysterical people to focus. So then they focus. Then people are like, you sound too calm. People just need to understand really basic psychology.

      Heather Nicole
      Totally agree hun
      She’s Losing it
BCOS HER DAUGHTER IS DYING IN FRONT OF HER
her calmness is her pulling it together momentarily
In hopes of (against her intuition) Brittany being ok; her being able to be saved
Of course her behaviour is ‘irrational’
Her whole life, as in her heart, her child is slipping away before her
She can’t concentrate as her distress/fear grabs hold
Then she snaps back to into focus to try do anything that will help save her daughter
Amen on ur comment, I have 2daughters and I don’t know that if I’m the same situation, I’d actually manage the composure she’s shown :WHEN THE OPERATOR COMMANDED her to concentrate.. key point here.. She hasn’t bounced from mood to mood, She’s distraught, momentarily gathers herself to assist in the possibility of her daughter surviving, & quickly returns to her present traumatised state.
I also think THAT SIMON AND SHARON stayed in that house, CLINGING TO EACH OTHER SOMEWHAT, PROBABLY CAUGHT UP IN GRIEF ,& just going through the stages, holding on to each other as a memory of Brittany, each person helping to remind the other of Brittany.. So ,There’s nothing strange in that.. Frankly I think the speculation that their relationship is weird or sexual is actually down right disrespectful ..
For someone who ‘thinks’ they encourage walking down conspiracy “”theories”” road , um yeh : there’s no point in dissecting how many angles you basically don’t come at or encompass Stephanie
      In this day n age
      I probably wouldn’t pass judgement
      That ANYTHING is absurd
Maybe, rather than thinking the Snowden’s and other x C_A assets have the only conspiracy theories validated and targeted individuals r just looney toons, some WHOLEhearted research would quickly dissuade you from this approach
      J.S
Example... The _onfessional_ , one four four .. Theres a HELL OF A LOT more going on layer by later, dimensionally , spiritually than we r actually capable of conceiving
      J.S
      Sorry Heather
Thought ur courage , morals, r spot on here
I ran away with the remaining rant
      Apologies
      Eve

When my mother was dying, each one of us in the family had moments of calm clarity and moments of utter distress. We cycled through them and thankfully when I was in gibbering meltdown, my father was calm and when he was melting down, I was calm. When both he and I were bad, my sister would be the one talking to the doctors. It's how it is.

I was going to say the same... when my brother died, I went from hysterics to completely calm and numb - no tears - in the span of about 30 minutes. I then continued to be in calm mode from the evening the day I found out he died through his funeral. Yep, I didn’t even cry at his funeral. I can’t explain it. This was an unexpected, sudden death, a situation where you might imagine you would be inconsolable for a very long time... and we were close. I think my brain did this for the sake of my kids who were very distraught; I had to be strong. You just don’t know how you’ll react until you are in that situation.
Her mother’s reaction seems very logical to me. She was scared to death, but also wanted to focus and save her daughters life. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    • @tokiima5031
      @tokiima5031 5 лет назад +4

Not with humans, as I've never been in an emergency situation where a loved one died suddenly, but when my boyfriend and I had to unexpectedly put our dog down, we went through the same thing. I would hold myself together long enough to try to make informed decisions whilst my boyfriend lost it, and when I began to lose it, he would gather himself and take over. Simon seemed to be out of it on meds, for whatever reason(s), and I think the poor mother realized she was kind of on her own in the room, there, trying to get Simon to save her daughter, juggle her own emotions, and communicate with and follow and relay the instructions of the 911 operator to Simon, who again seemed pretty disoriented. I'm sure she must have felt as if she was drowning. I can't even imagine.

Sounds like the couple adopted a "Folie a deux " a shared psychosis or delusional disorder which is a psychiatrist syndrome with symptoms of a delusional belief as sometimes hallucinations that are transmitted from one individual to another. Also in the long list of toxicology I see that there was among many medications, morphine and the benzo family which is s very bad combination as lower resps and on top of the a pneumonia and low iron, plus her small size and heart defect from a teenager , diffinately the combination that killed her make so much sense. Husband appeared to give up on him self he also had a heart defect and if using the same medication as Britney, morphine benzos and may be alcohol he too was on a fine line to end his life. Certainly Simon didn't look like Britneys type more so her mother's, may they just got closer when brittney passed.

Fairy Circle To my understanding it increases the and revenue and it increases the content creators “marketability” If advertisers see that ads are viewed in full they will likely continue to consider that creator a viable source for advertisement. This is likely more crucial with creators (like true crime) that typically are considered less desirable to advertisers.

People who think that call sounds suspicious or that her husband "didn't put much effort it," as someone in these comments actually said, needs to be excruciatingly thankful to have no idea what it's like. I'm actually pissed of right now at all the people passing judgement. I bet they think they'd act heroically. Truth is, even trained medical professionals panic when it's their loved one. 1. You are never disrespectful in any way to victims or their innocent family members.
    2. You gather reliable and relevant information regarding all avenues of the case you are researching.
    3. You consistently refrain from embellishing details and also respectfully omit disturbing information that would only provide “shock value” to an already tragic/painful event.
    4. You explore each theory involving unsolved crimes based on available facts; you do not simply focus on your personal opinion and discount or leave out other scenarios even if you feel they are unlikely.
    5. You are a truth seeker whose goal is justice by way of providing accurate and updated information from all possible sources.

Like goo for them if they've never been in Such a serious situation but I've had to call the ambulance after a car accident in which my cousin brother was severely severely injured. I was injured too but I woke up after the initial shock and I tried waking him up and he wasn't waking up so i was so panicked while calling the ambulance and didn't even realise that I wa bleeding out profusely too because I was so focused on just getting some help and I was not crying or anything, I was pretty stoic but rushed because I knew it's useless to cry in that situation.
But when I was on that highway, waiting for help, alone, injured and scared and I had to call family members to tell them what happened I started crying in the middle of explaining the situation to my mom.
I didn't have the guts to call my aunt and uncle because I was so Scared that my cousin was gonna die
And then when he went into a coma because of brain trauma I Felt so guilty that I didn't end up the same way and why he has to suffer so much when his life is so much more worthy than mine Because he's smarter, more compassionate and just a Better person than me
To this day that scene of waking up in that trashed car and seeing blood all over and him being unresponsive haunts me, I Still have nightmares where he doesn't make it and the entire family hates me because I didn't die instead of him.

Brittany died in December 2009. She showed all the same symptoms my son showed in December 2013. With the exception of diabetes. My son passed from H1N1. He became septic, which shut down his organs. He was gone in 4 hours. H1N1 Made two deadly rounds in the US, the first in 2009 the second in 2013. It took many young adults. The 20 to 40 year olds were hit extremely hard by this strand of flu. It's a very real possibility she passed from H1N1, before it was diagnosed in the United States.

It’s quite possible . I was a nurse practitioner in a walk in clinic when that pandemic hit . We had one day in June I think where 23 out of my 25 patients had tested positive for type A flu along with GI symptoms leading for high suspicion and diagnosis of H1N1. Brittney , though, had more severe respiratory symptoms which leads me to suspect she had a Type B flu . During 2009-2010- I probably had hundreds of H1N1 patients . Rarely, did they have severe respiratory illness or body aches . What I was seeing was GI upset , dehydration , exhaustion , fever, and malaise . Generally the fever was lower than Type B - unless the patient was immunocompromised . I’m very sorry to you for the loss of your son . Diabetes definitely complicates even a simple cold . Had his blood sugars been under poor control? I know type 1 DM is so hard to navigate and control . I’m so sorry for your loss . That pandemic just hit so hard so fast . It was actually already well documented in the US when she passed- as it started in March and by April 2009 was getting so bad . She could have had H1N1 vs the regular seasonal flu . I was at work when I found out she passed and had wondered that too

Just one example: Most of my friends keep ashes of their pets in the place of living. I dont understand that, I dont do that. I dont even take photos of my dog being put to sleep or dying. And many of my pet friends do that. Theese ppl didnt change jobs for their dogs, they rather let the dog hold pee and poo for endless hours (10+ hours). I changed job 3 times for my dog, so she can have proper walks every 3-5hours. Just want to say that 9-1-1 operator did a good job. Many times in these cases we hear some who seems to mess up, not care or even be rude. This guy gave her clear instructions on what to do and did what he could to get the information he needs. It has to be difficult in these situations sometimes - you're not supposed to take very long to check if someone is breathing, but someone untrained of course would be panicking and unsure of themselves.
It's also very difficult to do chest compressions at the pace you need to. It'll wear you out fast, and most people get very worried about hurting their loved one because of how rough it is.
I think he did a good job taking them through the steps of what to do and acting professional. He tried to keep them on task and doing what they needed to do to save her.

As an Emergency Room Nurse i always tend to really analyze all medical aspects of a case. This is what I see from the reports included in this video:
Both Brittany and Simon were on a host of medical pharmaceuticals. To say either of them was holistic I think is a real stretch! Both had hydrocodone listed - which is a heavy duty narcotic that is highly addictive and a triplicate prescription (at least in Canada). It is used for severe pain and is not something to be used long term. I didn’t see any history of either one of them having any known pain conditions. This in itself can cause of host of complications in the broader context of physical and mental health.
In addition, both were on a beta blocker which is a heart medication used to slow heart rate. Although not an uncommon drug I find it interesting that they were both on the exact same med. Unfortunately, sometimes this has the effect of slowing the heart when what your body needs is to be able to speed up to accommodate for illness, stress, shortness of breath etc... to increase oxygenation and can leave your body not able to compensate.
In addition on Brittany’s toxicology report it showed Topomax - which is a drug used for seizures - which Simon had a history of, but Brittany did not. Why did she have this in her system??
They also listed Clarithromycin which is used for pneumonia - so it is clear to me that she actually HAD sought some sort of medical help with her symptoms prior to death. Unfortunately, this med is NOT effective against omoxacillin resistant staph aureus- which is what she had. It seems as though the doc that treated her probably x-ray’d her lungs due to shortness of breath or by physical exam diagnosed her with pneumonia and put her on clarithromycin - which would work for most pneumonia cases, but her’s was resistant to this antibiotic. This is sad and unfortunate, but does happen. That is why follow-up is so crucial if symptoms don’t improve, then further investigations can be done and a change in medication could be prescribed.
She also had several other meds in her system which were less noteworthy, but were prescribed by a doctor - anti-anxiety meds and an anti-depressant. None of these were above therapeutic levels from what I could see. What I did not see was a screen for drugs of abuse such as cocaine, MDMA, marijuana etc... perhaps I missed a page?? This would have been interesting to see as well.
In short, I don’t think her death is a much of a mystery as what it initially appears. Her anemia and use of corticosteroid inhalers would have put her further at risk and make her more immunocompromised. Brittany was very ill and for whatever reason did not feel able to get the help she required to turn things around in time.
Sadly, pneumonia and anemia do not bode well for the sufferer in the absence of astute medical attention. Tragic for sure.
Simon appears to have had many medical conditions not least of which was his seizure disorder and multi-pharmaceutical use. I think his death was just a matter of time and is only suspicious in light of her death coming first.

Topamax can also be used for migraines. My doctor wanted me to try it but it can be teratogenic and I didn't want to risk it in case I fell pregnant. Maybe she suffered from migraines? But it is odd that her husband was prescribed the same thing. I wonder who the doctors were that were prescribing these meds, if they had the same doctor.

Traveling Lion no I did not see any drugs that cause chronic or microcytic anemia - it is a good question though. Also at the bottom of one report I believe that she also had severely low platelets, which is obviously not normal either. There was definitely something going on with Brittany’s blood - I dont have a theory as to what. Yes menorrhagia (heavy periods) can cause low hemoglobin, but should not affect your platelets. When your platelets are too low - your clotting properties do not work properly therefore when your blood should be clotting and it does not - maybe another reason she bled so heavily during periods. That is not usual to have low platelets - but can happen with some blood disorders as well as with a medical condition called HELLP associated with pregnancy.

I think that's a lie with this holistic treatment. People who treat themselves holistically do not use normal drugs, and they even abused them.
In my opinion, the holistic treatment case was just a cover, explaining why they didn't take Brittany to the doctor. Both Brittany and Simon were using strong chemical drugs. Those who heal themselves naturally don't do that.
But they treated themselves on their own and when Brittany was getting very bad, even then they were reluctant to call an ambulance. Maybe because they were afraid that people in the hospital would reveal how many drugs Brittany was taking, how many substances were in her body.
Brittany took the potent drug Vicodin before her death, which is very dangerous, addictive and causes breathing problems. Question - was she addicted to it? Why was she taking it?

I've always found Brittany's death to be strange, that is until I read her autopsy report today- it was a real eye-opener! I had no idea she had so many medical issues. Her official cause of death was pneumonia. She had a history of severe anemia, Mitral Valve Prolapse, and Diabetes. Paramedics who arrived at the scene noted her blood sugar was only 49 which is too low and dangerous (hypoglycemia) that alone can send someone into a coma or make them pass out. Most importantly, after arriving at the hospital multiple EKG's showed changes consistent with having had a heart attack. After reading the entire report I have to conclude she wasn't murdered but died because she was in poor health. I found it interesting that the cultures they took of her heart tissue came back and showed rhodotorula mucilagnosa and candida parapsilosis which are fungal contaminants. She also was suffering from severe anemia which weakened her. Also, Staph bacteria was found in her lungs.
It's too bad she didn't go to the hospital earlier, she had been suffering with stomach pain for 10 days before she died but everyone wrote it off as period cramps since she had her period and suffered with terrible cramping normally. I also found out that her mother and husband had been sick previous to her death but that she didn't get sick herself, maybe she did get sick and didn't realize she had it- it could've affected her lungs. In any case I'd encourage anyone interested to read her autopsy report for themselves. Here is a link to it:

Yes I just read it and have a bachelors in nursing and public health. She had pneumonia and was chronically anemic. Bad combo...it’s what caused the pneumonia that could be interesting...some people have speculated the building was “sick”(?) but she was in bad health before that. WS she a vegetarian or vegan and NOT taking her vital B 12 supplements? Or was she just idiopathic anemic. Her low blood sugar is a little troubling but her urine was free of glucose and ketones so maybe she just hadn’t eaten much THAT DAY, took some OTC drugs and hydrocodone to alleviate her symptoms and with ALL THIS going on at once she didn’t breathe enough and..,left us. So sad. I don’t think it was foul play...

I find it odd no one talks about Brittany's diabetes more? They mentioned hypoglycaemia which is low blood sugars, which suggested to me type 1 diabetes like I have. This is an autoimmune disease and getting sick can be very dangerous for us, and we need to monitor our BGLs even more when unwell than usual. High blood sugars (especially when unwell) can cause DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis) which can turn deadly very quickly. BUT nothing mentioned by the doctors or hospital (or her mother on the 911 call??) talk about her diabetes. Telling doctors/nurses/paramedics i am type 1 diabetic is really vital to my survival. I think this would have been a major factor to how she handled whatever kind of illnesss may have caused her death. In my opinion.

It can get very scary. A stomach virus can kill him.
As for b.m - I believe the autopsy said her sugar was a 49 or close to it... maybe she hadnt eaten? There seems to be a page missing, but I never saw the contents of the stomach or maybe I missed it? If she didnt eat, because she was sick, and she was so sick that she was taking cold medicine and hydrocodone, it very well could have killed her if she was type 1. He could've EASILY said, "Ma'am, put me on speaker phone and let me talk to who ever is doing the compressions myself." And 2.) Her mother being calm and then screaming and crying at different intervals isn't abnormal to me as a reaction to seeing a loved one die. I was the SAME way when my mother was dying. I'd be calm one second and the moment she'd start struggling to breathe or flinch, I'd start wailing. So I don't find her mothers reaction during the call strange, at all.

Their efforts would have went a lot further if he was directly instructing the person doing the compressions, and I totally get that the operator needs to remain calm, but he seemed calm to the point of almost just not caring. like Yes, he told her how to do the procedure correctly and he did everything by the book, but why wouldn’t you take a moment to get this situation into a position where these weren’t just rote instructions, but making sure the person that’s supposed to be doing what your instructing can actually even understand how to do it right. (Otherwise what’s the point?) To me it feels like he just went by the book & didn’t actively care about the person on the other end. Like yes time would have been lost to get the husband on the phone, but all of the lifesaving efforts were lost anyway.

I read that Brittany was at Chris Cornell's wedding and tried to warn him about his wife. CC was working on a project with CB about child trafficking before his death. CB also passed away under odd circumstances. Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks wife, is CC's daughters godmother. Heidi Klume threw the Cornell's an anniversary party. Heidi Klume's now exboyfriend was CC's bodyguard and was the one who found his body.CC's wife stopped the project CC & CB were working on after his death. There's a lot of connections to people who die mysteriously around these people so being paranoid isn't so hard to believe.

Never put anything in their mouth in general, some times it can cause more harm then if they bit their tongue. Keep them laying on their side so any saliva or vomit can drain. My cousin has a seizure disorder and experiences grand mal seizures. My fiance also has a seizure disorder but he has absent seizures which sometimes is more scary for me because he wants to talk but cant and it's harder to help because it's not the same as a grand mal. All you can really do is stay by them and see if speaking helps bring them to reality.

I was getting ready for work at 19 years old when my father had a heart attack right before I was about to head out the door. It was the most horrifying thing that I've ever been through in my entire life. In fact I sat in the ambulance as they drove him to the hospital and I watched him turn blue on the way and they did NOTHING to help him. When they got to the hospital they did surgery.
And I still to this day don't know why, because he was dying on the way and they didn't do s*** for him.

(I'm genuinely asking I'm not trying to be a smart a**)

    • @doperagu8471
      @doperagu8471 5 лет назад +11

Yes!!! I don't have seizures but I have been a caregiver for many individuals that do and this advice is very outdated and tends to cause way more harm than good.
Also DO NOT pin someone down while they are seizing (as it was described that Brittany did for her husband). The best thing you can do is make sure any objects that can obscruct their movements are out of the way, make sure their head is safe (if they are close to a wall it is OK to place a pillow or something soft lightly under or next to their head during the seizure to prevent an injury), and then you just wait it out (while of course monitoring them, timing the seizure, making sure they stay safe, etc). As scary as that sounds, if they are safe if is best to monitor closely and wait it out. It's often way way scarier for those observing the seizure than those experiencing the seizure.
After it's done, you can place them in the recovery position and allow them to rest. If the person doesn't have a seizure condition or has never had one (of if you don't know them and no one who does know their condition is around), call 911 when the seizure begins. If the person does have a seizure disorder or is known to experience seizures, emergency services may not be needed unless the seizure lasts for more than a couple of minutes or in case of injury or repeated seizures that are out of the norm for that person.
Sorry for the rambling, I have just heard so much bad advice on how to deal with a seizure. Most people never have and likely never will witness a Grande Mal seizure but it is so important to know what to do in the event that it happens!
