You might need to check your bible study and not misquote. The Bible does not explicitly mention abortion, but it does provide principles that can be applied to the issue. One key principle is the sanctity of human life, which is emphasized throughout the Bible. For example, in Genesis 1:27, it says that God created humans in His own image, which implies that human life is sacred and valuable. In Exodus 20:13, one of the Ten Commandments states, "You shall not murder." This commandment prohibits the unjust taking of human life. Some people interpret this commandment as applying to abortion, as they believe that abortion involves the taking of an innocent human life. Another relevant passage is Psalm 139:13-16, where it describes how God knits us together in our mother's womb and knows us even before we are born. This passage highlights the value and significance of human life, even in the womb. Ultimately, the question of whether abortion is considered murder depends on one's interpretation of the Bible and their beliefs about when life begins. Some Christians believe that life begins at conception and therefore view abortion as taking a human life, while others may have different perspectives.
Thanks for the reactions. This was easily my favorite movie of last year, and didn't know how it would go over with you two but you were fair about it and honestly that's all we could ask for. Mene mene tekel upharsin is not a movie quote. it's the 'writing on the wall' in the book of Daniel. 'Numbered, numbered, weighed and divided' was a message to the king telling him the time of him and his kingdom is done.
"Life begins at first breath" ??? Is that in reference to Adam in Genesis ? That is not what ir says. It say that God breathed the breath of life into Adam and he came to life. God, who is spirit breathed his Spirit, which is life itself into the first man, referencing the spirit of life placed into Adam who was at the time a clay figurine. This was an isolated incident for specifically Adam whom God formed out of clay. Specifically isolated as well because Adam is the only man who was not born. This is very different from every other human after of course. It is also not written as a clarification for moment of life in all humans since it os so specific to and only Adam. Even Jesus was born. Adam wasn't. Your use of the Genesis verse is misquoted and very clearly intellectually dishonest. Even, science says that life begins at conception, so it becomes a legal issue. One fact that is often forgotten when discussing abortion makes it clear that the fetus does not belong to the mother or is a part of her body. DNA The child has a different DNA than the mother. In every legal case and every murder case, separate DNA clearly identifies the existence of 2 separate individuals. Inability to protest does not negate genocide.
What I gather is James makes his murders is based on his personal convivence. He made is clear to his mother that she was a burden upon him and her wealth would be better spent on him then prolongating her life to its natural end. He could've been a dutiful son, sacrificing his best years to care for his sickly mother symbolically returning the care she gave him as helpless infant. Instead, he manipulated her into legal suicide for profit. His girl*fiend* didn't actually want to have the abortion but she felt it would save their relationship. In reality he just wanted her body and would dump her once found a new woman. James espouses feminist principles but (like towards his own mother) shamelessly uses a vulnerable woman. Extracting pleasure from her body with no intention ever providing for her, never wishing to deal with the consequences of said sex. The lack of respect by both refusing to call her his girlfriend and refusing to break up with her until he has his next sex-friend lined up. Finally, James signs the papers to execute Edward, not because he reached a professional diagnosis. But because he fears Edward and abuses his position to eliminate a man who threatened him. He should've recused himself the moment he had a conflict of interest. James is the perfect host for a demon. He's a self-assured parasite who feels no shame for exploiting others even if that means their death as he feels hands are clean. He could've saved three people but fails to do as it would require taking on responsibility. James *does what he wilts for it be within the whole of the law*.
The writing on the wall... "Meneh, meneh, tekel upharsin" = Weighed, weighed, numbered and divided. The babylonian king asked David to interpret the writing he saw on the wall in a dream. David's interpretation was: You have been judged. And lost. (It's good to know some theology. ;) ) Also, it's not very nice to say you want to send people to death but not wanting to do it yourself. I think hypochritical is the adjective.

You do realize that you're calling the words of an (albeit fictional) demon to be "true," right? Let's say this was a real demon. Well, if you were to accept any of its words as true, let alone even worthy of being listened to, you're lending it the ability to deceive you, which is exactly what it wants. As I hear Nefarious speak, I still can't help but wonder, _'How much of what its words actually weren't true despite a large portion of the movie's audience accepting them as such?'_ I once saw a conservative Christian viewer of the movie comment under a clip of it, "The devil never lies." Even though, in John 8:44, Jesus refers to him as "the father of lies." If that Christian, let alone so many others who've watched this movie, could fall for the deceptions of a demon that doesn't exist, they wouldn't stand a chance against a real one. So, in the event that you do encounter a demon, don't converse with it, don't argue with it, don't even listen to a single word it says. If it's possessing someone, pray, and ask for God to help them. Focus on what really matters, which is rebuking the entity and sending it away.
