Coincidentally (aside from the whole "reanimating the dead" thing), the most unrealistic part of this movie was the laser hallway. Let me put it this way: A laser pointer is about 5 milliwatts. A surgical pulse laser is about 40 watts. A military-grade laser is about 10 to 50 kilowatts. A laser powerful enough to see the beam would be about 20 MEGAWATTS. That's powerful enough to ionize the air in the path of the beam (which is why you'd be able to see it... you're not really seeing the beam, you're seeing the ionized air). To put some perspective on it, that's the entire output of a medium-sized hydroelectric dam or a large wind turbine on a windy day. It's enough power to provide electricity to at least 10,000 houses. It's ALSO powerful enough to instantly cause all the water in the flesh to flash to steam (and remember that the human body is 50% to 70% water). The guy who was cut into neat little cubes... would NOT have been cut into neat little cubes, he would _explode violently_ as all the water in his body turned to steam. Also, at least in the video games, the T-Virus tends to cause mutations that violate physics (specifically conservation of mass), which makes it just that much more unrealistic. Having said that, this movie and its first sequel are a guilty pleasure. People with a background in science (like me) just have to turn off our expectations to avoid nitpicking the entire movie.
I really like this movie. So much fun. For additional fun - and to learn the proper pronunciation of Jovovich - I highly recommended the commentary track with Milla and Michelle Rodriguez. They are so much fun together.
When you said how come zombies never eat each other. It’s actually explicitly stated in resident evil they do in fact eat each other when in desperation. There are other circumstances as well I recommend playing the games to find out more.
The original games were third person, usually fixed camera location. With tank controls meaning you go forward back and could turn left and right then go forward. Games all played the same through RE: Code Veronica (which was technically the 4th game.). They remade the first game for the Nintendo GameCube with much better graphics but I believe the same controls. And about then also released RE 4. 4 departed from the tank controls pretty much. I believe it was over your shoulder third person mainly and played a lot more fluidly than tank controls. I haven't really played much past there, I do own and played a little bit of one that takes place in Africa. The rest I've seen people play in live streams. Couple are in first person after that point. And the last ones remade the second and third games using the new control style and vastly upgraded graphics. Then they remade RE 4. They looked to be very fun! This series of movies is reasonably good. Milla and the director were married. Which I guess makes it easier to keep cranking more movies out in the series, while maintaining the main star and director through out. Great scifi/horror/action movies! Love the soundtrack by Marilyn Manson. These movies do borrow the basics from the game of a zombie outbreak. It borrows creatures from it like the Dogs and the Lickers. Eventually the games kinda alter how the zombies worked, and some of that made it into the further movies. Some characters will show up from the games. But other than that, it is its own thing entirely. I remember one of the complaints I'd always hear about these were how they weren't anywhere near like the game. So then they rebooted the series (not counting a few cgi movies.) with Welcome to Raccoon City. Covid had hit around then so theaters were in that kinda shape. I believe it may have been one of those in theater and digital rental situations. Maybe not digital right away but earlier than usual and I imagine very few people were going to the movies yet by then. I know and have heard a lot of people hate the movie. I did finally get to see it when it was finally on hbo or a streaming service somewhere. I liked it. It basically tells the story of the first two games. And it does get pretty close to what actually happened in the games (finally!) for a movie adaption. That's why I don't really understand why, when one of the main complaints I've heard for the Alice series of movies was not being close to the game story, and we finally get that, people hated it. It's not winning any Oscar's for sure but it was decent. It's not terrible at all.
This franchise is a guilty pleasure especially the first two movies I still play the games from time to time but I like how the actors had to play the first 3 games to be familiar with the story but Michelle Rodriguez is a huge fan of the games.
I wonder what Roomie would think to "The Car" (1977) or "The Entity" (1983) or "Deep Rising" (1998). Maybe even "Final Destination" (2000). Those would make for great Grave Reacts!

Thank you, I didn't know that. Nor that M.R. loves the games too.

I love Deep Rising. A shame nobody reacts to it. And yeah, I'd love to see them do it here.
Deep Rising is soooo gooood! The movie dude made before he made The Mummy if I remember right.
I hope you can react to a lot more Resident Evil movies.. I love them all though 😍
If you havent yet, watch "Raccoon City", it is a prequil / concurrent quil movie. Its a pretty good addition.

Did you notice the vials they used for the virus/anti-virus were actually computer water loop reservoirs?
@@Foolmoon1973 I didn’t actually, I had always wondered what they were or if they had been made specifically for the movie. Cool!😎
Resident evil make me love zombie movies i'm actually love to play the game
the resident evil movies are a guilty pleasure movies. my favorites are the first 4th and 5th
Hii Jessie 😊
@@mars-jr5uu hello

@@jessieGreyJedi I’m glad you’re ok I’m ok
The big problem with this series is that it's Paul Anderson's fanfics about Milla Jovovich passed off as film adaptations of the Resident Evil games.
The early Resident Evil games are Survival Horror, not First Person Shooters. They're pretty good and had some good scares in. :3
the fuckin BSO of this saga is A-MA-ZING!
26:39 After it mutates the Licker looks more like one of the 2nd game's G-Virus monsters.
I'd got all four of these movies. And I know one of the actor that was in the second and the third was in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns movies.
Oded Fehr.
@@Madbandit77 That's him alright.
Because zombies only eat fresh meat, not rotten meat.
Awesome movie 👌. Does the girl need glasses? Cuz she squints a lot. Have a good one 👌
She's not going to die yet. 6:20
You'll have to wait until the end of the movie.
Please react to all of them. Including Death Island.
And zombiefied dogs. Enough talk. Movie time.
welcome to the best zombie mnovie saga EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
By the way, I hope nothing's wrong with your dog. I'd just lost my dog a couple weeks ago.

Are those horror?
Don't bother with the reboot. It sucked.
Steven, you are correct
Thank you.
