I remember being a kid on release watching an older cousin play the original Japanese version. It was an experience, still pretty scary even when my cousin had to figure out things like puzzles and the non-voice acted parts of the story by guessing and context. The first zombie cutscene stayed with me for a couple of years after that.
Best way to play the REmake is with a controller and "original" control option and 4:3 display option. Because the "alternate" controls they added in the 2014 remaster has some big flaws like making you turn automatically when you switch camera angles and some disorientation and the "wide screen" display option is just the whole game zoomed in which can limit some visibility and makes certain camera angels feel very cramped. But if you feel comfortable with the "alternative" then of course you should keep playing that way! Just wanted to say that the original isn't as bad as people may think (it's literally the same control scheme that RE4 uses but just not over the shoulder) you really get used to it pretty quick if you give it a chance! One more thing, they also changed the difficulty modes by adding an extra easy mode so the original "easy" mode is now in the middle so it may appear as it were the "normal" mode! You will miss some stuff like vhs tapes, monsters and even events (I think) with the one you picked, just thought I mention it. Anyway, enjoyed what I watched of your play session so don't think I'm just here to write stuff! Have a nice day :)

Hi, At 5:46. No way could they outrun the dogs. As the dogs where to close to them. And the mansion was over the other side of the field. OH its only a computer game and anything could happen.
In the PC version of this, they skewed the difficulty selection at the beginning. On the gamecube, there's only 2 options, normal and easy. (top and bottom options respectively) on the PC, its normal, easy and VERY easy. i was confused when you went outside to the graveyard and there were no enemies, there should have been 3 zombies there. when you found the green arrow, theres normally no magazine on the floor. so i did some digging and found this out. Not that its a take away, but you're actually playing on easy mode.(also the text when you save has a colour, Red = hard, white = normal, green = easy, pink = very easy.) Hard mode is only available after a playthrough is complete. though the game doesn't tell you this at the start! you think the top option would be hard mode and middle would be normal..
The difficulty you selected is easy mode. Lol Not sure if found out already or if anyone mentioned it yet but the options at the start are Very Easy, Easy and Normal.
@@juliatvgames Yeah, I think Easy is still plenty a challenge for first time players. Lol Once you learn the game though the more challenging modes really add to the replay value, they’re a lot of fun especially if you want to speed run for the special bonus unlocks. I don’t know if you’re into that, actually my first time watching one of your videos, I was looking for RE reactions cause I love the series. Lol It’s nice to see people are still discovering and enjoying the series. If you are interested in the higher difficulties you can unlock Hard mode by beating the game on Normal, there’s another difficulty unlocked after Hard as well, they are color coded on the save file screen. I’ll post that down below if you’re interested. Purple = Very Easy Green = Easy White = Normal Red = Hard Blue = Real Survival
@@xeox4280 This is a pretty old comment, I didn't even remember it. Lol Looks like we were discussing difficulty though, the options available in RE HD at the start are Very Easy (Walk), Easy (Hike) and Normal (Climb). You have to beat the game once to unlock Hard mode and Very Easy was actually added with the Remastered version, the original Gamecube version only had Easy and Normal mode as starting options.
Also, not frustrating at all. In fact, I figured the main appeal for all is to see somebody have to figure it out they we did yk? agree
Nah, the remake is better
I loved the original RE2 but come on now...
Hi, At 58:56. I know its about 2 years late but you missed a save game room. By the zombie and 2 health plants. I just had to tell you.
i Remember That ( 1985 ) George Romero's FILM " DAY OF THE DEAD "
Not that its a take away, but you're actually playing on easy mode.(also the text when you save has a colour, Red = hard, white = normal, green = easy, pink = very easy.)
Hard mode is only available after a playthrough is complete. though the game doesn't tell you this at the start! you think the top option would be hard mode and middle would be normal..
2:28:00 meets Forest
Jill was from RE 5 and RE 3 Nemesis (1999)
The difficulty you selected is easy mode. Lol Not sure if found out already or if anyone mentioned it yet but the options at the start are Very Easy, Easy and Normal.
Nah it's hard enough I'm okay with it 😅
@@juliatvgames Yeah, I think Easy is still plenty a challenge for first time players.
Purple = Very Easy
Green = Easy
White = Normal
Red = Hard
Blue = Real Survival
No its normal mode
@@xeox4280 This is a pretty old comment, I didn't even remember it. Lol Looks like we were discussing difficulty though, the options available in RE HD at the start are Very Easy (Walk), Easy (Hike) and Normal (Climb). You have to beat the game once to unlock Hard mode and Very Easy was actually added with the Remastered version, the original Gamecube version only had Easy and Normal mode as starting options.
@@LS-Lizzy And you assume that the option in the middle is easy and say that its a fact
35:10 That deserves a like and subscribe
Also, not frustrating at all. In fact, I figured the main appeal for all is to see somebody have to figure it out they we did yk? I guess some people have a lot of OCD with these sort of games which is a bit understandable I suppose hahahaha I don't know how you stay composed so well I can barely keep engaged with a chat moving at -2mph
4:45 you said your dad had this game, which means this scene would seem familiar but you're remembering the live action sequence which is obscuring the memory.
I wish u did Onimusha and meet Samonuske and Jubei. Great Samurai warriors.
4:05 don't worry everyone I'm alright
Resident Evil 1 ( 1996) - PS1
Lol she's making me scared 😱 too
Still haven't played the remake, so this playthrough is perfect for me.
2:24:45 Lol, this was unexpected. Dude's like "hey Jill, why did you push me?!" and punches her in the face. WTF?! :'D
Also, Zombies are not supposed to be able to run. :(
Great Game!✌👌♥🌺🍁🍀🍀🍀🌚🌲🌲🌲🌲🌿🌾
Professional noob 😂❤❤
Wait, what did Kev do to earn a blacklisting?
I suggest you to change the control to the classic one. fixed camera angle + modern control is a mess
oh by the way, this is the remake ver. Resi 1 of the original which was release on PS1 on 1996/1997
Thanks god a normal gameplay and not the rambos finishing the game with knife only
Do you have any interest in playing Resi Revelations 1 + 2?
I might play them! People have been telling me they liked them
@@juliatvgames Yeah they are good, not as polished as the main games but still worth playing. It's been fun watching your adventures through RE4 and 5, thanks for putting them on youtube.
