With aging and more experience, for me, that kind of jiu kumite is not a good idea. Because you have to control not too hurt your partner, but you have to put enough kime to mark the point, you have to touch, but not too much… and you program your body like that, and once you you need your technics, they probably won t work. I prefer now that Young people make jiu kumite like sport karate in wkf, or you do full contact karate and you put full power in your technics. But that kind of mixing of control and soft touch : bad. Do sport karate or do karate combat. In that video, the referee was bad.
