If they're similar price obviously get the GoPro 12... They're almost the same camera. If you can find a really good price on a second hand GoPro 11 that would be the way to go. I never use the GPS function and apparently the 11 has GPS if you need that.
I don´t know if it´s just on my screen but there are for sure small differences but looks like with proper setup and editing the 8 would be almost the same. Stabilization and horizon leveling seem like the biggest one. Watched because I found a good deal for a 8 (130€) which I would use for action sports pov
It's hard cuz RUclips compresses things. Yes they are almost the same, but the 12 from a PC is definitely better. If you're steady with your hand you honestly wouldn't miss the horizon levelling ..
Any idea how the stabilization compares between 8 and 12? At least for me thats the most important thing, because also action sport (mtb). From this video a 430€ upgrade certainly doesn't really seem worthwhile....
If you're just uploading to RUclips you won't see a big difference on RUclips. But it does definitely look better on the PC so that's a major thing. The nice thing about the newer ones is you can do the horizon leveling... Also 4K 60... So if anything like this falls into your category then it's worth it otherwise no... What I do is I'd look for a second hand GoPro 10 or 11 at a good price if you could... Apparently the GP9 wasn't that great
Yeah it gives a sort of softer picture... Sometimes that's preferable but the horizon leveling and the lens mod to give some different options sometimes on the 12
I’m still rocking my gp7 and I like it I wouldn’t mind upgrading eventually but atm I wouldn’t
Gracias buena comparativa, tengo la 8 y esto decidiendo si comprar la 11 o la 12

Thanks. How much lasts the batt on 12?
I have a 7 and a 8. Would you recommend upgrading ?

gopro 8 is still pretty gorgeous. Gopro12 is better ofc, but its quite nice to see the comparison side by side
Yeah it's not a huge difference.. but it is noticeable the nicest thing is that horizon lock I think.
I have both but I think 8 better than 12

Tengo la 8 😊
Yeah I wish I would have kept by GoPro 8 actually there's not a huge difference and it's a lot smaller.
I don't notice big differences
Yeah.. not too much. ... But a bit better on the colors and detail
❤️❤️🇹🇼‼️
From my venue 8 looks better than 12
The 8 has a different look .... The only real reason to upgrade I think is if you want the horizon leveling
