I'm so happy to see someone talk about my favorite star boy! The lack of ideas is more than likely what happened, and while it makes me sad to not see him get a new game, I think its smart not to make another sequel unless there is a truly good idea to do so.
I feel like the series was shelved due to a lack of ideas makes the most sense. It is kind of hard to do something unique when you are out of ideas, but it still seems like they care about it with the mentioned smash spirts and even a cameo in super princess peach, also developed by Tose ironically.
I wanted to mention the Princess Peach cameo (and Wario showing up in Densetsu no Stafy 3), but I couldn't think of a place to put it in the video. Super cool though!
As a fan of Starfy since the DS game we got in America, this made my day. Thanks for making this man, and hopefully we'll get something Starry related in the future.
I got this game when I was around six years old. I’m 20 years old now and I just started playing Starfy again yesterday and had just as much fun as I did playing it when it came out in the US. It’s still such an absolute blast to play, and I have SUCH high hopes that if enough people gathered around for it, Nintendo could do SOMETHING with Starfy again. A new game on the switch with new graphics, 3d functionality, multiplayer, new mechanics would be absolutely amazing! Hell, maybe even make a longer game so that I don’t finish it too quick! We can absolutely get Nintendo to bring back Starfy again if we tried hard enough.
"When you wish upon a Starfy! ^^ makes no different who you are, all your dreams and happiness will come true" - Please Nintendo bring back Starfy even if it's just the Virtual Console ports as well as Starfy 4 get officially sold out of Japan or put on Switch Online. Or maybe if they want they can localise them like they did with (original) Fire Emblem 1 recently on Switch.
Glad I own all five games, CIB in great condition. 1, 2, 3 & 5 are my favorites. The 4th entry is good, but I favor the 3 GBA games and 5th DS game the most. So much fun!
there are a few things Nintendo refuses to acknowledge like the crappy cdi zelda games, the American made Nintendo IP cartoons, the educational mario games that Nintendo and that shitty super mario bros live action movie

I wish I knew how to program a platformer. I have such a bright idea for a Starfy story, but I have no way to put it into fangame form.
I guess it would be pretty hard to figure out where to go next after Old Man Lobber went Super Saiyan.
