One of the rescues my team saved a few years ago was a girl that had been born into enslavement after her mother was trafficked. She was treated like an animal her whole life and then sexually abused when she came of age. It was such a wild experience rehabilitating her and teaching her how life is supposed to be. She used to have such sad reactions like whimpering on the ground for food or spreading her legs when a man walked in front of her. I'm so glad we got her out of that hellish life. She's finally starting to speak as of last month.
I'm so sorry to hear that :( I'm glad the girl is doing much better now. Sending her lots of love💖
Damn that's sad😔 but she's ok now
Some people can be so cruel, I'm happy to know the girl was rescued and rehabilitated. Hope from now on she'll only be exposed to the beauty of the world, she deserves happiness and peace
Very glad to know people like you are helping these unfortunate people. Wish the girl a happy, peaceful and successful life.
sexual abuse always makes me sad, im glad shes ok now

I love how the ending reflects the message of the movie. WE DON'T GET TO SEE. Because it's Jim's life and he is not longer under observation, all we get to do as the consuming audience is watch him walk away and understand his life it's for us to watch and dissect. I think the people who complain about it don't understand you're not meant to feel satisfied
Yess. This reminds me of The Truman Show. At the end, we don't get to see how the main character adapts to the new world because there is noone watching him anymore.
They won't get it lol.....your mad smart.........
You think that point would make sense as the cyborgs literally watch him 24/7 but that makes sense, it not out of nowhere message.
but he escaped?
SK-Class scenario,dominance shift.
It’s so cute the way Jim puts his little toy beside Caz to comfort her. So wholesome.
Basically, this story is about humans being placed into confinement and not able to see the world outside while the robots are free to roam around they want.

The end cheapens the movie a lot: not only it’s unlikely that he will overcome the system so easily , but he also overcome the fear of being outside, and not provided for. It’s even posible that the woman will have sited him to stay , as he has no skills to live outside. Also with that they negated the psychological impacts of capture like the Stockholm syndrome.
I disagree. An individual in captivity is considered a lower escape risk when it was raised in captivity and seems content.
I keep pet mice and since most were raised in captivity and are given a large environment they don't even try to escape. When changing food and water they actively avoid areas of escape. Even if I leave the top briefly open and they are aware they can escape they typically don't even try because they feel safer in their habitat. This makes me complacent.
I keep a single male mouse which was wild captured. Since he knows what it's like living free he routinely tries to escape and occasionally does despite my best efforts. And when he escapes the girls are also motivated to escape which they find much easier because I'm not expecting it.
I'm more vigilant these days, but based on my prior experience I can totally believe that no one would expect this guy to escape.
I agree with the first part. It was definitely too easy to get away but a guy will go to crazy lengths to lose his virginity. Lol!
It’s almost as if it’s a fictional movie.. damn
As far as I know, stockholm syndrome isn‘t real (or rather it is misunderstood). The victim doesn‘t fall in love with their captor but rather protect the captor in situations, where they know it will be a better outcome for their survival. So for example being nice to your captor can make them trust you/ give you more freedom etc. So it‘s a survival instinct and „not falling in love“

What is sad about this is that it seems even in this plot of a story that Jim still has more comfortable living space then many prisoners do right now. Humans already do far worse to each other then theses cyborgs seem to have done here.
I mean...prisons are for 'humans' who have (often) done much worse to each other. You don't get to murder another person and then only get house arrest.
@@jtomyhope575 That is true on one end of the scale and I agree with that. We also have to think though that is one of the highest crimes one can do is to kill another person. @@chrishoward7645 I have heard of this and I'm pretty sure you are right on that. I like how he puts his thoughts at the end of the videos, and his opinions. Feels genuine
Yeah and it's brief. That's important.
So I feel like there is a big difference between cyborgs keeping us captive, and us keeping animals captive. (Assuming the cyborgs can actually understand such concepts) the cyborgs can directly, and clearly communicate with us. They can ask us if we want to be free, and they could also help rehabilitate us much more thoroughly than we can do for animals. The reason we have to keep some animals in captivity is because even though some would rather be free, they dont know what to expect, or even have a concept of expectation in the wild to begin with. And in the circumstance of animals being perminantly injured, or under threat of poaching, or habitat loss, and we keep them in captivity for those reasons, we cannot directly communicate to the animal that it is being kept captive for those reasons, but cyborgs to humans could have this communication. I feel like if you had a race of cyborgs as this movie has, then they would be smart enough to understand everything I just went over, and they would determine that the best course of action for our preservation would be to assist us in our natural habitats rather than hold us up. Any time they see our populations dwindling, or any kind of trouble threatening us, they can literally come, and ask us how they could help. Something we cannot do to other animals.
Not to mention that animals and humans arent even remotely the same😅 I mean, I dont support zoo's, but the truman show did it soo much better

When I watched the actual show it really felt real. This video made me FEEL what they were trying to portray in the show. Thank you... it was a lot more deep with this explanation.
For an animal in captivity they could never know what is on the outside, so they remain happy like Jim, it’s only when you take them from the outside where it becomes wrong, in my opinion, although living in captivity leads usually to a more easy and carefree life, since you don’t have to worry about surviving, but it takes away the meaning of even being alive in the first place.
So you think this is cool if we breed them for this? Lol
@@kitten_582 sure, but like I said it takes away the meaning of being alive in the first place, if an animal doesn’t know what is on the outside it’s less cruel to them, but if you take an animal that’s lived it’s entire life up until you stick it in a cage in an unfamiliar environment it’s basically torture for any animal. I don’t particularly care for things like zoos, I think we should only really trap animals if we are studying them for science, but as long as they’re happy I don’t see a problem in it. If a zoo can’t make an obviously unhappy animal happy it should be released in its natural environment.

I had my birds locked in a cage of years when I was a child not knowing and found it quite fascinating when they don't get out when I open the cage windows sometimes. Now for me it's genuinely sad
Growing up I raised birds this way too and didn’t realize it was wrong. Now it’s heartbreaking to think about and I feel so guilty. But my birds now have a very free life. They get plenty of out of cage time. Two of them are basically free roam actually. They are all flighted and can fly around freely (except one was born with a deformed wing and can never fly). They are domesticated and cannot be “set free” because they won’t survive so I give them the best life I can with as much freedom possible, a healthy diet and plenty of stimuli. But I do believe birds should no longer be captured or bred in captivity and in the future I will only adopt rescues to not support further breeding and will give them the best life I can.

Since humans are social animals by nature... how Jim is able to live carefreely all by himself in a totally isolated "captive prison" without having any actual interaction with other humans or living beings FOR YEARS is beyond me lol Even extreme introverts like me need social interaction every once in a while so my mind won't go insane. Also, shouldn't he be sick to the stomach eating (cereal every day WTF?) and doing the exact same things every day? That CAN'T be good for any human's physical and mental health. Humans are highly complex and intelligent so we require much more novelty and stimulation to keep our brain healthy and active compared to other animal species, that's why we LOVE entertainment so much. If Jim continued to live that way and the cyborgs didn't provide him with anything new to explore/play with, he would be driven nuts eventually :v

This is my opinion on the topic, he did touch on it at the end but didn’t dive into it, the movie was suppose to symbolize how a animal born into confinement knows nothing but that and that is there home.. much like domesticated cats. And how a animal born outside of confinement brought into it having negative effects on the animal. But much like the wild cat. Once a domesticated cat finds outside it wants to explore it… that’s my take
Yeah it's about animals. Because we have plenty of evidence that a human in this situation would deteriorate and have strange behaviours, make weird art, or become insane. This is not a what-if scenario, we know that because humans are more mentally complex, that don't easily become suited to captivity. So you're right, this movie is about animal welfare. It just so happens we're incidentally going through a global pandemic that adds an extra spin to this... My life has been that guy's life for the last 2 years. There's definitely more than one thing to take away from this movie idea! Good take, Maacs Dead.
I wonder if Jim humps his blanket like my cat did before he got neutered.
this movie had a deep unexpected meaning lol...
I remember reading a documented story of a team of people who helped raise a lioness and tried bringing her back into the wild. The lioness didn't know how to survive and would wait patiently for the people to give her food instead of hunting. They even took her cose to a pride but she didn't interact well with them
I feel bad for her as she became dependent and ended up not fit to be sent back into the wild since she couldn't survive on her own. Hopefully Jim manages to have a better chance of surviving and actually living life since he actually can talk/interact with other people :')
There are a lot of stories about "if humans werent the top of the food chain, would we be treated like animals?"
And to a degree maybe. But the one thing that separates us and animals is communication. I think if animals could communicate to us like we do to each other, they would be treated very differently.
Also yes there are some bad zoos. But zoos and aquariums are more hospitals and foster homes/shelters than prisons. Movie makers get that wrong a lot.
animals communicate and we still keep them captive. there could easily be a higher form of life that wouldn’t recognize human attempts at communication.
@@michaelmcgowan5428 "if animals could communicate to us like we do to each other"
Meaning if your dog could speak English, you would not treat it like a dog
@@milantiquestudios7460 some animals can communicate with us to smaller degree, like chimps can learn "hand" language (forgot what its called), also corvids are really intelligent, they can bring you stuff for food, octopuses use tools and stuff. (corvids are the best animals, these birds are amazing)
When you’re not able to get away from it and you’re forced to stay there then it’s captivity. No zoo it’s big enough to replace the huge territory that animals would have in nature, million years of evolution has perfected them to live in there natural environment, in zoos they can not live the way they supposed to live and they show signs of depression similar like humans, that’s not like a foster home.
"Hey buddy, gimme a break here, eh?" said by Freddy the Orangutan in Central Park Zoo with a Brooklyn accent will eventually get the most hardened of zoo-keepers down, I'm sure
The twilight zone had an episode similar to this. Crazy how far that show was ahead of its time.
So people really are comparing fish in a fish tank to people held in captivity? Really?
These short films are so much more interesting than Hollywood movies, they dive into subjects that are both controversial and thought provoking
The art that Caz made is actually good
Imagine we kept humans as pets but it’s like cannibalism but wierder
This needs to be a full feature length film I love this plot
Wow, over 1000 views in less than 5 minutes, that's incredible.

In the end they were still in captivity.
It was just a larger reserve.
creatures v1.0: animals: - used to roam freely
creatures v2.0: humans: - they roam freely now but the animals are in captivity
creatures v3.0: robots: - they will roam freely and humans will be in captivity
Escaping was super easy, barely an inconvenience.
His house is small with a living room, a kitchen, and a bedroom. So it's a normal 1BHK. A lot of people live in a 1BHK throughout the world.
This movie is exactly how I feel. I don't necessarily like keeping pets, and I really want to be able to treat my pets like they would be treated outside in the wild. I'd like to take my dogs outside and let them roam free until they're ready to come home and eat. However, I don't live in a safe place, nor am I of age to let things like this happen.
But dogs aren’t wild animals. They have literally been bred to depend on humans for survival.
My cat is an adult. I let him go where he wants.
Usually animals kept in zoos are rescued by abandoned mothers, murdered by poachers etc.
It's extremly hard to raise a baby tiget or any animal to survive and hunt properly.
Most felines learn how to hunt from their mothers before they are abandoned, with the cups separating soon after
Yeah lets go the game with humans. At. Zhr . The dame* same* Eith Withe humans bevause Withh* With* Humans. They deservr to Deserve* d* deservr* deser deserve*.
The setup reminds me of a YA book I read back when I was a teenager (in the 90's), except in that book the humans (plural) lived in a zoo, which was run by extra terrestrials who uses the sleeves of earth animals to visit and interact with the zoo and it's inhabitants (akin to Altered Carbon). Aside from the humans the zoo also hosts other primates, as well as hybrids of the primates with humans that the ETs had created.
The main character is a young human girl who grew up in the zoo and was raised believing that something cataclysmic had happened to the human/primate race, and that the ETs had saved them and their primate cousins by housing them in the zoo for their own protection. In the end it turns out to be a big lie.
Instead it had been the ETs themselves who had wiped out the humans and their cousins in the first place. They had done so in order to liberate the animals of earth from their tyrany, as the ETs had been appalled by the callous way humans treated them (and the planet in general) when they had come across our planet.
Unfortunately, even though the poor primates did nothing wrong, they were unfortunately painted by the same brush as us, as the ETs believed that since they were so closely related to us that they too could evolveto be very similar to us, nullifying their efforts, if they left them be.
Being a highly moralistic race of beings however, it was against their ethics to drive a species to extinction. So they had set aside some of the humans and their primate cousins into the zoo, where they can live in peace without being a threat to the rest of the planet's population.
Nobody cares about your murder time or the medieval times you supposedly lived in

No....
I love it, but in reality if it was captive breed or breed from a zoo/farm putting them back on the wild will kill them, a good example are monkeys, if you put a monkey that was born and raise from the zoo to the wild jungle, no colony will accept him/her and will murder the poor monkey without hesitation and if it did somehow avoid from getting torn apart... the monkey, wouldn't know how to get food for him/her self and will die of hunger, or even fish for that matter, if you put a koi fish on a random lake it will die for sure because there wont be any food for it to eat, they have no idea how to hunt for smaller fish because they've been given food pellets all their lives while also couldn't stand the different PH and TDS without proper recondition and will fail to adapt. Dont be a jerk who just put his gold fish on a random lake without thinking first because your fantasy of it living free in the wild is delusional and your gold fish will just end up being eaten by a predator fish, keep loving your pets as much as you humanly can instead of trying to be an activist without a brain because sometimes people just throws invasive snake head species (one example) on a lake and now the original inhabitant is declining...this is illegal lol and will serve you jail time.
well u r right but let's say if i take a goldfish that was born in water and put it in aquarium then the fish will feel like the human female in movie so basically zoos are immoral when they capture an animal from wild uk but if an animal is born in zoo only then it's alright for it to be there tbh
Agreed
