This is beyond incredible. It appears nearly inconceivable that we have been anticipating an official soundtrack release for fifty years for a television special that is widely recognized and cherished by millions. This special is esteemed as a quintessential work within both the realms of animation and music, significantly contributing to popular culture. Thank you CAM. Thank you Sean and Jason.
As a big Guaraldi nut myself, I can't wait to see what else the Mendelson's have in store for us. I previously remastered the Thanksgiving soundtrack to the best that it could be but this will be a huge improvement over the mono sources in the special.
I have my 4 and 6 year old watching the Peanuts tv specials and movies. My 4 year old is obsessed with "It's Magic Charlie Brown". He likes the poster art of "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" because of the funny looking pilgram hats on Snoopy and Woodstock. This was a great interview, thanks Heath for putting this together!
WOW. This is so cool. I’m a Guaraldi fan because of Lee Mendelson and Peanuts so this is going to be a priority for me to track down what has been released so far from the original studio sessions
It’s awesome finding all these original tapes from the actual recording sessions. I’m getting this one also. I didn’t realize this was being released until now. Thanks for the video.
Cool af. We've all grown up with the work of these guys. Funnily we've all probably run across multiple copies of the Christmas special soundtrack on CD. I've variously had a couple of copies in my collection and come across so many in thrift stores that I've resold on ebay, etc. I even bought a beautiful sounding old Sony 50-disc changer player the other day at a remainder place for $10 and the component sounds sweet. Guess what disc was inside it, unknown to me, when I bought it? You guessed it.
This interview has me all excited, Heath! As I commented on your facebook post showing your copy of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, I thought I had Guaraldi's entire discography on CD, including both volumes of the OOP Lost Cues from the Charlie Brown Television Specials. So finding out about the Thanksgiving release, an improved It's the Great Pumpkin..., and the possibility of more unreleased recordings to look forward to - I'm just flabbergasted! (Does anyone even use that word anymore? lol) Anyway, thanks for another wonderful interview, Heath.
Are you serious!?!? I've been thinking that we've needed the Thanksgiving ost since they released the complete Halloween one last year! This is amazing!
This is amazing!!! I'm ordering it tomorrow, for sure. My fantasy continues to be that they find the original multi-track recordings for "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" so they can make a new stereo mix-down. (OK, my REAL fantasy is that they find film of skits that were rejected for "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," or a complete second Halloween special that was never released.... lol...)

HOORAY!! I cannot begin to express how happy this makes me. What a great segment!!

Great podcast brings back so many memories from my childhood

Thank YOU! And yes, let's be flabbergasted!
Stuff like this makes me a kid again. Thanks for the interviews Heath, but even more, the heads up of the cleaner, expanded music.
Wonderful discussion! Peanuts is such a big part of my life, as is the music of Vince Guaraldi. Really special stuff.

Good chat, Heath. Sounds like a fun release. Added to my Wish list.
Love Peanuts. I of course own the 4k holiday set, which replaced my DVD set. New soundtrack sounds very interesting
This was an awesome watch. Woohoo!
Can’t wait to finally get this release in a few days

Snoopy and The Peanuts are the best! Love Garfield too! Garfield is my mom’s favorite and Snoopy is mine! Garfield & Friends was a great show too!
