    In Zhang Jike's very last match of his career, he managed to fight until the end, even though he was ten times slower than he used to be. Well done Zhang Jike, your performance will truly be remembered.

      LOL. None of your guys had any clue. Both of his parents are Chinese from Sichuan province. Both of his parents are excellent table tennis players in China. When they became Japanese citizen, they had to choose a Japanese last name to replace the Chinese Family name, Zhang. Harimoto is the closed thing in Japanese to Zhang. This is why not all Japanese support Harimoto because they still think he is Chinese, not Japanese! Now you know why he is so good.

    The fact that Harimoto kept a clear head and anticipated the long serves of Ma Long and Zhang Jike (players like Liang Jingkun and Fan Zhendong have trouble against them) and also not having trouble returning and attacking their serves, shows just how mature his playing is.

  • @canicetang8837
    @canicetang8837 6 лет назад +69

    Great tournament win by Harimoto. But as I said many times. ZJK is back! He almost got it done. With a little more consistency and game match experience. He would be even better.
    He changed his playing style already. Hitting a bit earlier with the heavier ball. Most of all, he played Harimoto the way it was supposed to be done. Move him around, especially to his much weaker forehand side. Capitalize quickly by either hitting the open side or hitting behind him. Use hooking shots and extreme side spins to swerve the ball away from the table .
    If he could do more and aim for the acute side of the table, that would be perfect strategy. Also keeping the ball low on the serve by a much lower toss would probably help. The Table Tennis game is changed once again. Whomever adapt this the fastest will get the upper hand.

    • @MuhammadSaadKhan
      @MuhammadSaadKhan 6 лет назад +1

      And what happened? Harimoto is 14, and Zhang Jike is 30. He controlled the game. And came back to win it. He will rein the table tennis world for a very long time.

    • @davidshifke2353
      @davidshifke2353 6 лет назад +2

      ZJK has changed his style because he has lost his explosiveness. It's the same with Ma Lin around 2010. Playing shorter and shorter points because he's lost the athleticism. He is still really good, but it's hard to imagine him getting anywhere near FZD and ML for the 2020 singles.

    Fantastic match, amazing balls were played. Congrats to Harimoto - great performance.
    To those who complain about Harimoto´s yelling:
    Yes, it can be annoying. But you should realize that he does it to motivate himself, not to disrespect the opponent. Recognize how he turns around every time before yelling, so he doesn´t yell to his opponents face. And he doesn´t yell when he had a lucky ball.
    It´s a bad habit and maybe he will correct it at some point. But this shouldn´t be a reason to hate on him.

    I've watched harimotos past games before this tournament and I can tell you that he has gotten better at trying to scream at the points that matter. He has been apologizing for the net and edge shots now. Also I never liked him before but at this tourney he is so 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥, you cannot deny his passion and unstoppable Force!

    Zhang jike is the fastest improving player right now. Even though he lost, this was still a win for him. Losing 0:4 and now coming this close to winning👍🏻 Also jikes backhand is getting insane again. Power wise definitely top two.

      yes, and i hate it when people say he was disrespectful... whenever he gets an edge or net call he apologizes, he shakes the opponents hands... when fanzhendong and yu ziyang were young they yelled more and never apologized on net calls, matter of fact yu ziyang cheated against mizutani faking an edge ball. respect for harimoto this kid is gonna be a legend...

He isn’t doing it to be disrespectful, he’s doing it because he is continuously demanding the best from himself.. every single point. It’s inspiring. Especially for me...when I routinely give away points from unforced errors..
