One thing no one's really commented on at all on other videos except yourself was at 10:55 and 13:36 is you can hear the new dynamic music cues, like it knows where you are and how much threat there is around you, which they mentioned about adding before, makes it feel really cinematic. Such a subtle change but really adds to the atmosphere. Also point of note with these missions - bring A LOT of ammo.
I've said this in comments on CitzenCon as well and I still stand my ground. The new UI is nice, but for the love of God make it stop moving when I move the damn mouse! It is the first rule of UI design to not move the chatbox away from the mouse when you approach it! This downright terrible, the chat is is completely unusable for MMO standards... just give us a damn chatbox that we can customize with channels/tabs and what not. The same is true for audio, can we please have proper audio device selection? We need to be able to separate voice chat from the game.
I feel the same for the radial menu, stop moving it, the angle perspective should not be changing while I am trying to mouse to a new weapon or option. It feels like "Hey look what we did while messing around one day isn't it cool?! We'll put it because we think it's cool" But it doesn't actually improve the experience in any way, just an extra effect that makes it more annoying to track what is going on in space. I'd be okay with bringing the range of UI movement down to 20% of what it is now, just a light tilt/shift.
I promise those are almost the same. Muscle memory is when you get experience doing something so it comes easy to you and associated with the action. For example, he associates moving his finger over to b and holding down with jumping into quantum. I don't know why you are hating on this game so much and this guy so much
It would be cool if the sneaky entrancesses would be locked in a rotational system, so you need to find the one that IS open. That would be more fun and make it more challenging
I think that "old build" - "new build" dynamic in the video works very well to show us the goofy and funny moments of broken parts of the game from previous build without displaying them as the current state of the game. Its a good dynamic going forward I think when it comes to making content about stuff on the test environmnents. As long as its broken just keep the clips but don't upload them, and once its fixed, show the fixed part but also the old broken part in comparison like you did with the trains early in the video ^^
6:15 The Dev's actually have that 'default setting' in their current 'in-house' build actually :) So many people were asking for it they were like "why didnt we think of that?" and have already added it in. So if your in a 'seat' on a ship and open the map now (again, on THEIR build), it'll open up to the 'starmap' view.. if you stand up inside your ship, it'll default to the 'local view'.
@@italydude515 And having never done the mission before, he would have known exactly "how much" ammo to bring how O wise, clairvoyant one? Looting, especially when the baddies are carrying good gear like the Karna, is a far more reliable strategy. There's no reason to run around with 100 clips of ammo weighing you down.
@@italydude515it's a joke we got going on. Also It's a normal thing for star citizen players, I for example just go in nak*d and take their armour and weapons. The only problem is the looting
I think the 'trains' are one of those things that the Star Citizen Dev's really dont 'mess with' that much ATM till the rest of the game is flushed out and ironed down.... They essentially travel on a 'fixed rout' with updated directional changes every so often... when they 'go off into the boonies', its when they pass one of those directional changes durring server instability and it essentially 'misses' that check-point.... then 'teleports' back to where its suppose to be when it stops as thats a sort of hard-coded "you must be here after x-time" in order to play "y-animation". Hopefully soon thei'll take another pass at their trains and fix alot of the bugs that have cropped up with them.. and smooth out their travel a bit more.
I honestly think when 3.18 borked them as bad as it did, they got them back to a "good enough" state people could at least play the game, but are waiting till meshing is in to properly fix them. Hell, they may not even need much in the way of fixes when the servers aren't total crap. Haha.
@@bdubyah89 its more the 'routs' they have for them that need fixed/tweeked... as well as their movement... i mean their trains.. they follow a path from A to B to C then back again.. there not complicated.. they just break when servers hiccup between A and B or B and C As you said.. they are working "good enough" and thats all they really care about for now... It's sadly why they took the Instanced hangars out of 3.23's initial launch.. because if they 'broke', they break everything as the ships, and the ability to call them, "is" the gateway to the game.

I remember the time you could only enter a few corridors and halls on the planet. This feels big. If they make the total accessable area 500 times this size then you will have quite a city.
@ Olli43 There is a fix for the new Star Map. All they have to do is give us the ability choose what part of the map we want to open up first when activatging it.
I really enjoyed this video, in the future if you run into similar problems where you can't get your first impressions into a video due to an abundance of bugs, it would be nice to see a similar format where you just showcase the clips of your first impressions over a stable-ish build like this video

It's the new dynamic music cues! Which more people should be making a deal about, it's awesome and they talked about it years ago. Seems the first iteration of it is in this patch but they haven't made a big deal about it.

Itd be cool if there was an actual stealth system so you can arrive undetected instead of an automatic "leave area or you will be tresspassing in 10:00".
if you swap to the other inventory screen when not under fire, u can drag the under suit into the local inventory and basically have all their weapons and ammo siting in local inventory for you wen u need it
6:55 to be fair i like how the map is presented aka the ship because for example if you were in a larger capital ship and you are a solo player? You'd like to know where's the enemy in your ship while they open those doors no? :O a fast interaction and seeing where, I understand theres a minimap top left, or we could ask for a change where we have the option to have it out overlooking the planet or on ship like now! I'm surprised there is no tier list ranking for the updated guns in FPS and guns/weapons for the fighter spaceships jets in 3.23 latest version in RUclips that nobody wants to.
I agree that this could be really cool once server FPS is fixed, once NPCs dont glitch into walls, once trains work reliably, once stealth actually works (outside of noise), once I don't die randomly or due to dsync, once NPCs stop shooting each other, once the remaining FPS bugs like reloading not working are fixed, etc etc. My only problem here is the "when". Because I don't see the stars aligning within the next two years - and after 12 years Im getting a bit tired of waiting for "once everything works". But I can see how people who havent been around for that long get exited - more power to you.I just really hope CIG can deliver, historically they do not have a good track record on that front.
Hey @Olli43 and all. Wonder if you knew there are sub modes in master modes. Spoiler alert!: For example: If you are in QTM NAV (old QTM mode) you can now switch with middle mouse button to another two modes QTM FLT (takes out marks - can't jump - clear view) and QTM SCN (which is basically scan)
As for the map, I think it would be great if we have map-modes: Local, Planet, System (later on - Galaxy). From here, you can either choose the default, or bind some keys to your like.
Concerning the map zoom levels, I don't believe either is necessarily good. I say that because if it was zoomed out, you would have to scroll all the way in when you wanted to see up close. My point being that, you're always going to have to scroll the opposite of what the map defaults to when you go into it, so therefore, and this is just an idea, I think there should be a button for far zoom and one for close zoom. Maybe a selection in the menus for what you want it to be. Perhaps the game can read your mind. lol. But seriously it would also be nice if it worked with TrackIR so that if you were doing something with your movements it could zoom a particular way, I don't know...
Olli43 Specs: CPU: i9-14900KF Graphics: 4090 RAM: 32 GB (5600) HD: 1TB + 2TB M.2 My specs similar, great video quality at 4k with everything maxed but even with liquid cooling and 9 fans, CPU runs 75-85+ C in cities, 65-75 in space. Before I added three more fans to heat exchanger the CPU hit 100 and the pump started cavitating...yikes.
The gameplay is starting to look really good, AI is still terrible as always though, maybe a blessing at this point for easy farming but hopefully its better at launch
i dont think its gonna improve before server meshing later this year. Anytime someone is lucky enough to be on a high fps server the ai is pretty impressive
i think the default map mode should be tied to. are you in a pilot seat or are you on foot. pilot seat, show nearest planet. on foot. start in the close in mode. -cause you may be a new player trying to find your way around your friends ship/ a space station.
They've just stretched the bunker mission out into a massive bunker mission... I can't watch another streamer do another bunker mission ever again. It's like torture at this point

Assuming you filmed this yesterday before the patch as there was a reference to the default starmap zoom being different. dunno if it addresses your issue though 👍
They have changed a lot of keybinds, when I moved from 3.20 to 3.22 my control mappings were totally screwed. I am just about done with recreating them all completely by hand and sorting things out in 3.22.
9:38 does anyone know if you can turn the dynamic crosshair off and just have a normal fixed crosshair? The fact that it's moving around is absolutely awful
This game is so convoluted :-( I do hope that they can pull it together and make it a streamlined experience, i've been seeing buggy npc's for god know how many years now, i just see different settings with the same core flaws, my hopes are high, but reality is bringing me down.
Truth be told, if it wouldn't be a bug ridden mess and the AI truly responsive then the gameplay would be amazing, though i guess i said nothing new with this now do i?

Bro never brings any ammo with him. Every experienced player knows to fill their inventory with ammo and this dude always seems to do the opposite.

They've changed the default zoom while in space to be a system level view vs your local area view
