Hi from South Africa. I use K18 ALL the time. I only wash once a week, but the other products that you use alongside K18 is very important. You can't use a rubbish shampoo, you need to use a decent shampoo. I use the K18 Detox shampoo and I use a Milkshake leave in conditioner. I wash with the shampoo, apply the K18 leave in conditioner and wait 4 minutes. I then let it dry a bit and before styling, I add the leave in conditioner. FABULOUS results. Cheaper products can make your hair "feel" good, but it's not necessarily fixing your hair from the inside. You have to use this for at least 6 - 8 washes before you start seeing the results.
Hope you have success with your continued use.
thanks so much for your input! I agree, cheaper products are not always better. In my case, I have been using lots of different products since my hair first started getting bleached when I was 3 😅 so the products that work for me may not always be higher quality but they’re what my hair likes through years of testing products. I actually ended up finding in my redemption video that the k18 has wayyyy too much alcohol in it. my best results came from using it, letting it sit for the 4 minutes, then double wash it out and then putting in conditioners and after products. I also way overused this (more than 8 times in a row) so my results felt like they were continuing to get worse due to the alcohol drying it out :( overall, I am so appreciative that it has worked for you! That’s ultimately the goal, to find something that gives us fabulous results like you!! thanks for your comment!
I highly suggest to reverse wash first. Use condioner to detangle then shampoo. Also make sure to use a leave in after. This will give you much better results.
I LOVE this idea, i’m going to try this today and I’ll share my result in Week 4’s video. Thank you so much!!!
@@KindlyChristina can’t wait to see
For me K18 was a miracle product but I agree it definitely needs to be combined with other products. I combined it with olaplex no 6 and 7 and my hair felt nice for maybe 2-3 days. My hair type thrives on deep conditioner and I have noticed a huge difference when I stopped including K18 in my routine. I did notice the biggest difference after using it 5 times in a row as they do say use it for 4-6 washes and then use it every 3-4 washes. I use it when I feel I need it and I do personally prefer it over olaplex no 3 if I feel the need to do a bond treatment
I feel this so hard! My hair also thrives on deep conditioner and No 6 and 7 so I totally get this! I just finished wash #2 using k18 (no conditioner) and haven’t felt it does a ton but I’m holding out for the 6 week mark. On its own, it’s a little underwhelming but I’m hoping the consistent use will really help. Definitely prefering it over olaplex no 3 as well right now, hoping to love it as much as you do by the end of the 6 wash mark! Thanks for your comment!!
@@KindlyChristina One extra tip, you don't actually have to use a clarifying shampoo. Your go to shampoo should work just fine.
@@ceystal thank you! I’m gonna give that a try next time for sure :)
I would try to invest in a better shampoo and conditioner as well. I find it to be a pretty important part of hair care
Thanks for the input!! I have tried all products from oribe, to olaplex, to herbal essences and everything in between (I have been very familiar with my hair since I was a child because my parents decided it was a good idea to have my hair bleached at a very young age 🙄) so I am quite familiar with what my hair likes/needs. Although I have tried better quality and more expensive products, my hair ultimately loves silicones and certain products (even though they’re cheaper and lower quality) and then I clarify monthly. That’s just works best for me. Thanks so much for your input!
I think your hair looks amazing, when you put the pumps on to your hand, vigorously rub your palms together until a white paste form's, then apply to your hair, you get more out of it too, use for 6 concecutive washes to see results
thanks for the feedback! I ended up doing a whole series trying it for quite a long time in different ways and to be honest, the alcohol content in it is way too high for my hair. It really just made my hair worse especially with more use. I still prefer olaplex products personally but that’s just me! Thanks for your comment
Do I need to use a clarifying shampoo every time before I do the K18 treatment?
I don’t think you need to every time, just initially so your hair has a clean slate to start with!
Don’t feel bad Cristiana I have the same experience dind like it at all . Let my hair greasy, toooo soft that stared to fall out 😖😖😖 🧡 . We need to trust our hair
Oh no Paola, I am SO sorry to hear this!! You’re so right, we’ve gotta listen to our hair and trust it better. I’m so appreciative for your comment and hope your hair is doing somewhat better now 🥺💗
Is my 4th wash and it feels horrible like I am so desperate my hair felt better with olaplex now I have to get a clarify shampoo because my hair feels horrible and the web site recommended
i TOTALLY understand!!! get some olaplex going for sure. Number 8 helped the most for me! Sorry that happened to you :( also thanks for your comment!
@@KindlyChristina thank you for your honest review 💕
@@giabrt much love 💗
The K18 should be rubbed in the palms vigorously then applied to the hair and left for 4 mins don’t touch your hair at all don’t brush don’t do anything once the 4 mins are up you can brush use a leave in conditioner or use a rinse out conditioner. Am really gutted the hairdresser ruined your highlights; I do hope that it’s alright today .❤❤❤
@@sarahdon3165 thank you for your input! Grateful to say it’s mostly grown out now ♥️ I appreciate you!
I Have fine,thin hair..i don't want k18 to make it to soft,its ok If i use it?...😘💃
if you’re looking for softness while using k18, go with a really deep conditioner. If you don’t want K18 to make your hair soft, use it without conditioner. Highly recommend my k18 redeemed itself video where I talk about how I got K18 to work best for me :) Turns out the alchohol in k18 REALLY dries out my hair (still prefer olaplex for price and functionality though!)
Keep it up. It’ll pay off, I’ve used mine 5 times and only now I’m feeling like my hair is getting a hint of that virgin hair feelings, I’m noticing less split ends! I use maxi wash Kevin Murphy clarifying shampoo.
that’s so good to know! I think for sure I’m seeing better results with multiple uses. I’m trying many different combinations using it for the best possible result. Thanks so much for your comment! I’ll have to look into that clarifying shampoo!!
also thank you SO much for the sub!!!
I think a clarifying shampoo should be used. A moisturizing shampoo is for to cancel out the benefits. You can however deep condition afterwards , as mentioned on their TikTok.
You need to use it SIX washes in a row to get the full benefit
thanks for your comment! If you watch my full series, I definitely did at least six. I honestly think I did way too many but you can see how I made it work better in my k18 redemption video. Personally will not be using it again just because the alcohol content is way too high for my hair. thanks for your comment!
@@KindlyChristina I’ll be watching, new subscriber here! 😊
@@adarivera9519 ahhh so excited, thanks for the sub friend!♥️ let me know if you have any questions!
Detangle after shampoo
Then apply do not brush it or touch it till after the 4 min.
Also may still need a leave in condition bc this product is not for moisture
good call, by the end of my 6 week series, it was very clear that this is not a moisture product. Thanks for the input I’ll give that a try!
@@KindlyChristina please let us know how it works out for you!
manes by Mel has a great hair channel! Look her up I'm sure her advise would help
@@tiffmullen9864 sorry for the delayed response, just seeing this :) definitely check out my redemption video, it explains what ultimately helped me best with this product. To save you some time if you want the short version, the amount of alcohol in the product really dried my hair so it needs intense washing out and rewashing. Thanks for your comment !
@@tiffmullen9864 PS also love Mel’s hair channel!!!
K18 works but it way too expensive for how many times some people have to use it. If you got really extremely damaged hair i would go to a salon and get the spray and the leave in mask too have them shampoo twice clarifying and moisturizing shampoo then towel dry then spray wait 4 mins then put the mask on 4 mins and do good protein and moisture mask. Then next k18 treatment do at home it should repair it with a very good leave in. I would do it every other shampoo between treatments do good deep conditioners and moisture and little protein only if you feel like the moisture isnt helping but always follow up a protein treatment with moisture. Blowdrying can less damaging then airdrying you get more friction damage just use low heat with heat protection.
Hi! I TOTALLY agree, it is expensive!! I’ll have to see about going to a salon before trying it. Though I will say, in my K18 redemption video, I figured out that the alcohol in k18 is WAY too much for my hair (and my hair is naturally sensitive to proteins and such). I found that letting it sit for 4 minutes and then rinsing it extra well was a huge key to getting it to work better for me. I seriously appreciate your detailed input, it means a ton ♥️ thank you SO much for your comment!!!
this has improved your hair you just need to cut more damage off and use for 6 straight shampoo
thanks for your input! I actually ended up using it for a few weeks, you can watch the entire journey here on my channel! Turns out, it really just has way too much alcohol for my hair to handle. I found that washing it out reallllly well helps a lot. You can find the full details in my k18 redemption video. Thankfully, I haven’t had to cut my hair too much at all. Thanks for your comment!
You need to rub it in your palms for 10 seconds to make a white paste....a little goes a long way! 😊 you don't touch your hair for 4 mins, no brushing either 😉 and you don't sleep with it 🧏🏼
thanks so much! I ended up testing all types of methods with it (similar to what you mentioned) and ultimately, it just doesn’t really work for me. The alcohol content in it is too high that it dries my hair more than anything. I appreciate your comment 🫶🏽
It does look good 👍
thank you !!!
What a depressing story, especially after you waited for so long to let your hair grow out this long and healthy and letting it now be compromised by one single mistake.
yeah i’m generally pretty upset about it…. I feel like so much of my hair has been ruined but I’m not giving up hope, just gonna keep it in protective styles and preserve what I have left 😭 it’s definitely a good reminder for me to just leave my hair alone when it comes to bleaching. thank you for your comment!
Hate the stuff caused breakage.
dang, i am SO sorry to hear that!! i find the alcohol in it is SUPER drying. Hope your hair has been able to recover since! Thanks for your comment!
you are so right about people blow drying their hair!
i didn’t want to be that person but i had to be honest, it’s just not the same! Thanks for your comment!!
K18 says you can condition hair after the 4 minutes is up.
yep! In my later videos week 3& 4 you can see that I’ve added a leave-in conditioner that has seriously helped! Thanks for your comment!
Unfortunately youtube won’t translate this but thanks for your comment !!!
Omg the excuses that hair dressers give sometimes I can't believe it
Yeah it was super upsetting when she told me she didn’t see the bleach botch because she wasn’t wearing her glasses 😭 i was like noooooooo :( definitely is much better now but a hard lesson learned for me!
This was actually an olaplex review than k18.
perhaps you are right 😂 I’ve only used similar products like olaplex before k18 (even though i don’t actually love olaplex no 3 like i do their other products) but I do a 6 week series with k18 (something I’ve never done with olaplex) so definitely check it out if you’d like more of my experience with k18 specifically and then week 6, i do a final analysis of k18
thanks for your comment!
