I use this money back towards the quality of video of this channel. To see how, watch this video - Наука
I hate YT comments which are just sucking up..but I really love JV’s opinions, format, production.
I always come back to this channel even if I am rarely shopping for new cans or headphone amps/dacs.
I just wish there were more reviews and more price ranges. I would watch stuff on this channel covering cheapass BT buds if it was here… and all the way up through midrange…and of course occasionally dabble in the high end headphone videos. (I have less interest there because I am primarily a high end speaker listener across 3 home setups, and high end headphones rarely fit my use cases of occasional recreational and studio monitoring and mixdown).
Keep it up 👍🏽
Yay new vid! But im looking forward to your full-fledged review! The Sundaras always felt like it was missing those highs i love so much, and im interested to see how you might compare them based on their similar prices, and both being planar.
its cool now, prob smth like m17 or d+a90 would sound
It was nice to hear Avatar: TLA being mentioned. Love that show dearly.
Joshua Thank you for posting.
the Sundara Bar always looming
dude, that pimple looks dope af in 4k! srsly tho, appreciate the new vid, always cool to see more competition in this price range for planars.
I have them. I love them. I love them so much that I bought Dekoni Elite Hybrid pads, Dan Clark Ether Angled pads, and had a leather support strap custom-made for my pair. I've owned many headphones, including the HD 600, 660S, HD 800, Mr Speakers Mad Dogs, among many others. The Para is my number one favorite for everything, bar none. I highly recommend them.
thanks for sharing, tempting
How does the para compare to the sundara?
I also own he400se and hd600. Do you think the sundara or para is an upgrade?
@@calvinyip364 I have not tried the Sundara but from what I understand, they are extremely similarly tuned. In terms of build quality, the Para is at least a much better upgrade but sound is likely extremely comparable.
@@calvinyip364 I haven't listened to the Sundara so unfortunately I don't have a frame of reference sound quality wise for you, but I understand their tuning is very similar. The Para's build quality, however is much better and is a solid upgrade over the Sundara. I have the Venus also and it's only one step down build quality wise.

What really helped these headphones in my opinion were tuning pads. I picked up some $12 pads from geekria and it really helped to balance out the highs relative to the midrange. I cannot test and therefore cannot really confirm but it felt like I was getting a better bass response. Nothing really happened with the sub bass but it seriously felt like it had really balanced out this headphone. Overall, pretty delightful afterwards especially with some of the sharper highs being quelled.
Do you have the link with those ear pads, I can't seem to find any with these headphones.
Review the Audeze MM-100!!
You forget about audeze mm 100 and do you plan on reviewing them
If you like Geoff you'd also like Colm McGuinnes, that dude is absolutely insane, he can hit relatively high notes then get so low he shakes my walls with the following phrase. Can't recommend him enough for general listening for fun or testing speaker response because of his insane vocal range.
Looking at the background reminded me, has he ever shown his bike?
Can you leave a brief sound comparison between Moondrop PARA and Hifiman ANANDA Stealth?
Please review denon ah d7200, its under 1000$
Hifiman ANANDA NANO vs MoonDrop Venus - who is better?! ❤
Does anyone know if the THX DAC portable dongle..can power these?
I have some fitment issues. I. Have a small head and the para is a bit loose when I wear it. Anyone know how this can be solved
Interesting first impressions. Look forward to the full review!Dark Saber review coming soon maybe lol? 1:27
I hope his first impressions do not include a broken 2pin connector
I do like how the dark saber sounds but man was it a pain to get a replacement after the 2 pin connector broke.
Yeah for the price, the quality of the connection kinda sucks. Haven't broken mine yet though but it does feel fragile.@@Lead_Foot
What is the headset Dekoni came out with?
Those drivers are gigantic
I rly thought of buying it but i got edition xs for 282 $ new best thing i believe at the price.
@distorteddan6801 myea it was black Friday on AliExpress so I found a good seller and I got it after 3 weeks.
Anyone have a recommendation for alternative pads?
Joshy boi. Didnt watch the video but its probably good or whatever
Would love to hear how the soundstage compares to other headphones in this range. Particularly for those of us that also engage in competitive gaming and need to hear and pinpoint opponents.
it sounds like real desktop highend, good thing since dap nowadays can be a pc dac as well so you get both
They have a phenomenal soundstage. I had the HD 800S for reference and at this price point, there is nothing better.
Petition to review Avantone Planar
these are definitlyt one of the better looking headphones oj the market imo. i feel like a lot of the audio headsets look like dog but have great performance
I wish companies gave closed backs more love
They do, but not for audiophile grade headphones. They're always open back for a reason
@@sovery_halalmode That's what I'm saying, we need more high quality closed back headphones. Not everyone wants or can use Open-backs or IEMs
Overcoming physics is hard. Getting a closed back to a certain level of sound quality is way harder than working with an open back architecture to the same sq level. So for most manufacturers the choice is pretty clear which format to focus on.
are they durable?
👌👌
Do a proper review of the Verum 1 MK 2s. A lot of people want to see it.
As an owner of them, I can say they've been beyond worth the price. Fast but non-analytical, they're a nice change from my Edition XS. Nowhere as much soundstage as the XS has. Timbre is nicer on the Verum 1. Well built and pretty easy to drive.
@@apparentlyretrogradeThanks for the info. I went ahead and ordered, my daily is an HD6XX so I'm hoping it'll be a nice change.
Nice, enjoy.
Bike review?
What amp did you use and do you think a balanced cable would make a noticeable difference?
yes good amp will further enhance the sound
it is better to have dac better/pricier than the cans
as stated my recommendation is 1:1:1 which would be 2 times price, the better well better, esp with a12t range quality
though weaker would sound fine as well just unoptimal, listening experience wise
@@iikatinggangsengii2471 idiot advice from person with zero scientific knowledge operating on pure copium and placebo
my set has a few qc issues but not deal breaker
Care to elaborate on the issues, by any chance?
@@juanblanco7898 some minor nicks on the grill so its a bit sharp not smooth it super minor hahaha
@@legendredux1291 Oh, that's it... Yeah, pretty minor indeed. Wouldn't call that an issue even, personally, although it's not a nice thing for sure.
Thank you for clarifying.
yeah
So the headphones require good recordings to sound at their best...
yeah thing is the sound profiles are still subpar mostly
but its def more preferable
Surprising, ikr.
I can't get used to Joshua with glasses and a sweater, what happened, I stopped watching videos for a couple of months and the timeline has changed
It’s “easy to drive”? 101 dB/V is one thing, but at 8ohm that’s 80 dB/mW which is really low. The current draw is huge.
In my setup, Massdrop CTH, A50S, Ta-20 Plus, do just fine for my listening level.

Why do you keep censoring your eyes on the thumbnails? Sometimes I don't recognize you (I'm not even kidding) and scroll past the new video...
It's easy, josh is the only one doing it, so click the video lol
Well...fixed it. Lol
There are no long vowels in "SUNDARA".
first comment
Sundaras have been out classed for some time now. Their dogshit build quality and mediocre sound aren't much in the $300 range. Let's move on from them.
I don't believe in Chinese brand headphones.
Non-Chinese brands, aside from boutique companies and some sennheiser models, are almost certainly made in China.
Don’t believe in any brand. Don’t be brand loyal, just see the products for yourself and then decide if it is worth it.
Try these. You will believe. I absolutely love my pair.
