    I swear, when the e30 full restoration series is over, sometime in the future, I will watch every episode back to back for the full restore it experience. its gonna be epic. bro you could make a full on documentary outta it I swear

    • @RestoreIt

      I think this sometimes as well Koneko. These cars are going to take a long time to restore and film everything like I do. But once they're done... I think I will make a small documentary style video talking about the whole process and the story behind it. Thanks man.

  • @Stuntman707
    @Stuntman707 4 года назад +17

    That was a big teardown. I assume it will be faster as it's mainly the paintwork that needs fixing? Even with just a new paint job and minimal repairs, It will look really good. But yours is going to be like driving a brand new car so interested to see both!

    • @RestoreIt
      @RestoreIt  4 года назад +7

      It was indeed. It took a while! But you're absolutely right Cheshire. This is more of a typical style restoration that will actually be finished quite soon. My style is a bit over the top, but its the only way I can do it and be happy. It's each to their own and I'm glad I can help Antonio on this project and have some satisfaction of a complete project vicariously through him. The car is already resprayed and back at my house. It looks brand new. I can't wait to have my two resprayed. Cheers lad.

  • @bosroamer
    @bosroamer 4 года назад

    BTW; you are getting pretty handy with welding all those holes, but 1 tip; buy a thick strip of copper.
    Hold that to the hole on the other side of the panel and you can weld simply over it, the copper won't stick to your welding and it is also a great heat-absorber!

  • @TheDasbull
    @TheDasbull 4 года назад

    Normally I don't comment, but just a quick tip from my experience. Avoid silicone sprays(WD-40) anywhere near a car destined for a repaint. It can cause "fish-eyes" in new paint. You are probably aware of this but perhaps others will find this useful. I really enjoy your e30 series as a long time owner 👍
    Thanks for the excellent videos.

  • @Cronzyy
    @Cronzyy 4 года назад

    Love watching this, big inspiration! Keep it up! And one tip for welding holes like the small holes from the aftermarket alarm, take a piece of copper tubing and whack it flat. Hold that against the hole from the back. Much easier to fill holes like that. The weld wont stick to the copper and the tube will extract alot of heat aswell so it wont burn through as easy.

    Great work man! 😊 it's great seeing you work together/having extra pair of hands doing a job. Looks like a big job. It's different but, last week I dismantled my PS3 to give it/the fan a thorough clean, new thermal paste and put it back together. I'd never done it before.

    • @RestoreIt
      @RestoreIt  4 года назад +1

      Thank you Liam! It's great having another pair or hands I must say. That's great to hear, I remember doing the same with my PS3. Felt great to fix it :) You can now do that as a job! If only we all still had ps3's :D

      @LJGrindewald 4 года назад

      @@RestoreIt you're welcome! 😁 Yh, I bet it is. Can get so much done and less heavy lifting which is good. Yh, I've watched videos on how to clean them the past few years and I've had it over a decade and hadn't used it since last year. There was so much dust in it and Sony use a cheap thermal paste so it's best to change it. It feel good to clean it 😊 I was worried about messing it up but luckily did it 🤣 aha. I don't know if I could do it as a job lol! My brother in law has one so I could clean his if he wanted me to. Wanted to play my old games. I don't get rid of consoles/games. Just replace if they don't work :P I have a ps4 too but not played many games. I'm so picky. I have plenty of ps2 and 3 games.
