Looks like my reverse gear needle bearing got hot. The cage is discolored. Any idea why that would happen? Also 3rd and 4th gear have wear on the countershaft. Would the reverse gear bearing have anything to do with it? Both input and output shaft races had some wear and slight discoloration as well. trans has 191k miles on it and was making a groan whenever I took off from a stop
I got a 17 ram G56 i do hotshot car hauling and haul about 20-25k pounds. Already had some parts replaced like the 5th and 6th gear synchronizer. Was wondering if you knew any places that sell beefed up g56 cases and heavy duty gears? Ive seen some on google thers several companies that sell them just not sure which 1 to go with. Was wondering if you knew a a good place that sells them? If you or anyone could help me out that would awesome!
you right the case is the weak link in these transmissions, just get a girdle the gears are good for well over stock power. remember to double-clutch to save those synchro's.
Wow thank you verrry much for this video and the detail and showing all the parts. Super helpful wow

So if you want to change the ratio of the gears you just get bigger or smaller gears on your shaft correct?
