I have never had a LS motor and after watching this I will stick to my old V8s . This hearse would have been great with a 454 out of a motor home. Easy and plenty of torque. You’re a kickbutt builder. If it gave you this many problems it would have shut me down. Killer build though
Mate you can see where Ghevys got the idea for the fuel set-up from its a great idea i like it i won't to do the same idea to my kustom Ford zephyr mate i got 1959 bullet tail lights i put it in the behind one of them my is on LPG mate its Getting very hard to find a service station sale the shit Time to step up mate
1995 Superior Fleetwood owner here (just cause I can): since you are making your own rear seat, have you considered a shorter backreast with headerests, or headrest shapes on it? It would give you about the same comfort back there, about the same safety, but a little more rear visibility? I mean, no one buys and drives a hearse thinking about visibility or gas mileage, but every little bit helps. Been having a blast watching your progress, the build is gorgeous, and I feel your pain at every setback! [And once again, I commented before watching the whole video....]
Imagine driving by and seeing Mabel parked in front of the cemetery and the headlights turning on and off... Bummer about the transmission, the never-ending-battle continues (which is great for us!).
The hard long hours you have put into her . she'll fight you all the way any on that final day when you've done everything she wants you do ..she'll come through...hard work pays off...

@ lol, no , almost 6 ft tall and lots of headroom . Seat selection was spot on. It’s a true Frankencar. Pieces from lots of different cars went into the build, interior and exterior
Don't lose faith! It's a complex construction, don't worry, it will run as it should. The transmission may need oil, or if it's used without being checked, it may need maintenance... greetings and good luck!!
So the gas gauge does not work? If you said I miss it. And trying to remember but did you not build the trans, these are all questions I am expecting you are going to have to answer from your Witch, cause I know my Witch would be all over me about it. It would badass if you made the back seat fold down flat like on some trucks so that the it'll sit flat even with the rear deck. That way you can see the "til death" sign clearly from the back door.
That would be awesome! I haven’t quite committed to a system yet. Perhaps I got to see if I can find some better hinges or make something from scratch.

Wow, Mabel looks and sounds great. Aside from the transmission, you're down to a few minor glitches. Noticed the speedometer isn't working. Is it an issue with the transmission or the cable?

Yeah, I need to do a different door gasket. The ones I got just aren’t really gonna work, but since nothing is available, I gotta make do with what I can find.

I don’t really care for the look up headrests so that’s not a option. Or maybe if they’re a little teem stones who knows

No, the gas gauge is not hooked up. And I did not build the transmission. I bought the engine and trans used out of a wrecked vehicle.

I didn’t run it over. But it definitely has the LS lifter tick. It seems to go away once it warms up, but it sounds like I need to replace them.
