This might be one of the best looking chops I have seen yet. Usually I think too much is gone, but this is just right, making it flow more natural with the middle range of the car. The idea of the hearse is bad ass too!
That looks absolutely stunning! And it’s easy to ruin the proportions especially on such a long car. I’ve seen far too many extreme chops where they leave little peek-a-boo chips of glass for the windows and windscreens and the whole thing goes from 1940’s gangster ride to a blown up matchbox toy with an engine. This came out like a proper luxury station wagon that Cadillac used to do, albeit rarely, way back in the old custom commission/coach building days.
I was lucky enough to get a ride in this car with a band a few years ago back to the hotel after we played a rockabilly gig in Helsinki. I can say that this car is even more awesome in person. Coolest taxi I’ll ever get a ride in!! Hope to visit Finland again one day, great people 🖤
This is cool don't listen to the purest out there they should look at it this way the others out there are probably worth more now , now I do understand some people chop tops just to do it and they look wrong this was done nice and clean done right .
Nicely done looks like it was just enough. I have 46 Pontiac Hearse that I'm building slowly I believe it's as tall but the windows are shorter which besides cost will negate a chop. I just wanna drive it after having it for 15 years lol
@@johngrepo9976 I still am working toward the goal as car guys know many detours on the way allot of the heavy work has been done. But along way yet from the road but its happily waiting
This was the beast for 46 not stretched. My 42 #61 was baby Cad at 126" wheel base. Notice it nearly fit in garage, I think was 139" wb or larger. Would be really nice as automatic to cruise in
A very intimidating, ambitious job, which y'all pulled off with class! By the way, ignore the downers, they are just jealous...build what you feel, and f**k everybody else. ✌😄💥
Looks like something a starting Blues or Rock band of the 50s would drive to gigs in. ;-) I always thought a 49 Chev with four 2 barrel carbs on a 409, 4 speed automatic and anything else in combination of four?
Funny how sooo many armchair critics have sooo many opinions on this , that , the other , what shoulda been done , what I would have done , so forth . . . Bet not a one has ever taken a torch or cutter to a vehicle . . . Hot stale air ! Nice job Bro’s , despite the trash talk ! Like the little crease left in the left front fender . . . Shows history !
Brian Cook, the comment section is there so anyone can write their opinions, not just experts, not everyone likes the same looks or ideas. How many tops have you hammered?, were the proportions correct?, I've seen many terrible chopped tops, didn't look right to me, but that's just my opinion.
Looking at these comments now, lmao, that's how you know you've done something amazing. When haters come out of the woodworks. Can't stand the fact they can't have it XD
Car looks mean af., would have been good to see both b4 and after shots. Also I think I saw t1000 from terminator 2 working on it a couple of times....
Job very well done!If you notice, most stretch limos with roof work have vinyl covering to hide the ugly sheet metal work. Not only did you NOT need vinyl to cover flaws not there, but you painted it BLACK too to show total perfection to serious body and sheet metal fab work???Folks this level of work is rarely found. If I ever need a chop top done, I'll just drop my ride off there and you call me when done and I owe you big bill for the quality job. This looks untouched, as it should.
Fuck all the Haters! I consider that a mild chop and it turned out great! Doesn't look cartoonish at all and you guys kept the rain sills. Good job. I would love to see a nice paint job and some wide whites on it though!
If you never saw it before, you'd never think it was chopped, stock roof is to bulbous, they never touched the windshield height. A lot of quality work that doesn't really show?
This thing would of made a badass ute easy to do to has a line to cut right there . I would of chopped into a ute something different the another 3 inc out of roof and u got one bad ass ute
It was his car, so nobody could stop him from trashing an impossibly rare classic. Can't be more than a dozen '46 Cadillac funeral coaches in running condition worldwide. Now there's one less.
This might be one of the best looking chops I have seen yet. Usually I think too much is gone, but this is just right, making it flow more natural with the middle range of the car. The idea of the hearse is bad ass too!
Exceptional work! It certainly has a more relaxed appearance now! Glad that you didn’t overchop!
Oh yes , the whole crew are really professional at this kind of job, thanks for posting !

After all that work, you know it's not gonna just sit somewhere and turn to rust, it's gonna live again and be loved. Good job, guys!
great job guys ... always nice to see someone using a english wheel too ..
The Guys In Your Shop Made This 46 hearse Look Really Coolooooool !!!!!!! Show Us More Cool Rides .......

Wow, what a cool customization and a very cool model Cad. Wish they would have gotten all of the work done, on camera.
SPLENDID JOB! This creation doesn't need anything

Love the look of it and how they made a stretched out wagon out of the Cadillac
This was the beast for 46 not stretched. My 42 #61 was baby Cad at 126" wheel base. Notice it nearly fit in garage, I think was 139" wb or larger.
Would be really nice as automatic to cruise in

chopping a car is one thing. ruining a car is another. well done, it doesnt look like a hearse anymore. it looks like a chopped station wagon.
You're opinion doesn't matter

Who the hell would want this abortion on wheels? They've destroyed a classic so send it to the crusher!
awesome
Car looks mean af., would have been good to see both b4 and after shots. Also I think I saw t1000 from terminator 2 working on it a couple of times....
I messed up a perfectly good cut steak before it turned out good to me
they did the right thing and made it look much better. The original is cartoonish.
absolutely stunning.
can I get the name of the song and band that was played please.
+Andrew Wales
Hank Williams III - H8 Line
Buddy Holly - Little Baby
Great work but just imagine how it would look if roof was angled down more from front to back?
Very Nice, Very good ficou ótimo lindão.
